The clothing store has had feedback from parents and carers that kids struggling with sensory issues find neck tags particularly uncomfortable, so have launched a new range which gets rid of them.
The changes will be made in core clothing lines so children can feel more comfortable.
As a first step, the retailer will move away from neck labels across its kids clothing and nightwear as well as introducing seamless sock options.
Across its kids ranges,
Primark
is removing neck labels from the backs of t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and pyjamas.

Seams in socks were also identified as another common source of discomfort in feedback to the retailer.
In response, Primark has introduced a range of seamless and flat seamed socks.

Speaking on the changes, Ann Marie Cregan, Trading Director at Primark, said: 'We want all kids to feel great in their clothes, so they can focus on what matters - being themselves.
We work at Primark - our 6 brand new summer must-haves including £10 top that gives you a gorgeous hourglass figure
"This isn't about creating a new and special range, it's about improving our kids' clothes, thinking about inclusive design from the very start and removing or sometimes adding

, so that they work harder for more children and families.
"We've started with removing neck labels and introducing more seamless socks – small changes that we heard from parents could make a big difference.
"Our kids' clothing already represents the best value on the high street and we know how important this is right now. We will continue to listen to parents to understand what more we can do.'

Are pharmaceuticals part of the EU-US tariff deal? And what's Section 232 got to do with it?

THE EU'S PHARMACEUTICAL sector could be in line for 15% tariffs as the result of a 'Section 232' investigation in the US. US President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen clinched a deal late yesterday that includes a baseline US tariff of 15%. This agreement came just five days before the US was due to impose 30% tariffs on many European imports. Ursula von der Leyen and Donald Trump met at the Trump Turnberry golf course in Scotland. Alamy Stock Photo Alamy Stock Photo However, there was some confusion as to whether pharmaceuticals, which are currently tariff free, would come under these tariffs of 15%. Speaking yesterday, Trump said pharmaceuticals were not covered by the deal. 'Pharmaceuticals won't be part of it because we have to have them made in the United States,' said Trump. 'Pharmaceuticals are very special. We can't be in a position where we're relying on other countries. 'Europe is going to make pharmaceuticals, drugs and everything else for us too – a lot – but we're going to also have our own.' In a letter to the Trade Forum, Tánaiste Simon Harris said his understanding from von der Leyen is that the 'rate of 15% is a ceiling on any potential tariffs that may be imposed following the conclusion of the section 232 investigations'. 'In other words, any tariff would not increase beyond 15%,' Minister for Enterprise and Trade, Peter Burke, told RTÉ this morning. File image of Tánaiste Simon Harris Alamy Stock Photo Alamy Stock Photo He added: 'Von der Leyen has been very clear that 15% will be a ceiling, and Trump has been clear as well that there will be other areas that he can look at on pharmaceuticals. 'Pharmaceuticals are very complex and a lot of the product that is exported over to the US is not a complete product. 'Almost 70% of it is components of the final product that will come together. 'That's why we need to ensure that we have a very keen rate to ensure we incentivise innovation in that sector.' Section 232 investigation On 16 April, the Trump administration initiated new investigations into the imports of pharmaceuticals under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act . The purpose of a Section 232 investigation is to determine the effect of imports on US national security and whether certain imports 'threaten to impair' national security. Advertisement Such investigations are said to 'recognise the close relation of the economic welfare of the Nation to our national security'. The investigations also probe whether the 'displacement of US products by excessive imports' could result in 'substantial unemployment, decreases in government revenues, and/or loss of investment and skills'. In the context of pharmaceuticals, the investigation will look at the role of foreign supply chains in supplying the US market and the extent to which domestic US production can meet demand. The investigation will also probe potential attempts by foreign states to exert pressure by exploiting US dependencies in this sector. At the conclusion of this investigation, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick is due to recommend possible trade policy measures on the sector, including the introduction of possible additional tariffs on pharmaceutical products. The Section 232 investigation was launched on 16 April and the Trade Expansion Act compels Lutnick to submit a report to Trump within 270 of initiating the investigation. It's expected that he will file this report within the next three weeks. File image of Trump with his Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick Alamy Stock Photo Alamy Stock Photo If Lutnick determines that there is a threat to US national security, Trump has 90 days to decide whether he agrees, and if he agrees, whether to act. If Trump decides to act, he then has 15 days to implement that action. However, Trump could decide to enter into negotiations instead, should Lutnick report that there is a threat to US national security. In this scenario, if Trump enters into negotiations and no agreement is made after 180 days, or the agreement 'is not being carried out or is ineffective in eliminating the threat' to national security, Trump will take further action. Earlier this month, Trump claimed that tariffs on European pharmaceutical companies could be as much as 200%. And during Taoiseach Micheál Martin's St Patrick's visit to the White House, Trump said Martin was 'lucky' he wasn't president when US pharmaceutical companies moved to Ireland as he would have placed 200% tariffs on them. Trump's use of Section 232 Trump carried out seven Section 232 investigations during his first term and all but one found a threat to US national security. This resulted in tariffs on steel and aluminium in 2018, though this was later modified and some countries were granted exemptions. For other goods, Trump entered into negotiations with trading partners, though he didn't agree with his then-Commerce Secretary's assessment that there was a national security risk around uranium. In his second term, Trump has commenced Section 232 investigations once more on uranium, as well pharmaceuticals, critical minerals and rare earth elements. He has also revived a Section 232 investigation from his first term on cars and car parts, initiated new investigations on copper, timber, and semiconductors for manufacturing equipment, and also expanded Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminium. Football fans rage over TNT Sports price hike just weeks before the Premier League starts – act now to avoid increase

BRITS itching for the next Premier League season to kick off have been dealt a fresh blow to their pockets with subscription prices rising again. TNT Sports has announced a £3 monthly bill hike starting today. The move comes as part of a shake-up to the Discovery+ packages, with a new tier now available. This provides a way to keep the old TNT Sports subscription price of £30.99 but it will mean sacrificing some of the content you had access to previously. "On your next billing date on or after 28 August 2025, your monthly discovery+ Premium (incl. TNT Sports) subscription price will increase to £33.99/month. Previously, there were only two tiers, Discovery+ Basic which had no sport at all and remains at £3.99 per month. Meanwhile Discovery+ Premium had all that plus TNT Sports. Trump says Gaza ceasefire is 'possible'

US President Donald Trump said that a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza was "possible". He made the comments to reporters at his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, where he was meeting British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Mr Trump also said that he will cut the 50-day deadline he has set Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. "I'm disappointed in President Putin, very disappointed in him. So we're going to have to look and I'm going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number". The prime minister travelled to Ayrshire, where the US president is staying at his Turnberry golf resort, for wide-ranging discussions on trade and the Middle East as international concern grows over starvation in Gaza. The two leaders have built a rapport despite their differing political backgrounds, with Mr Trump praising Mr Starmer for doing a "very good job" in office ahead of their talks. But humanitarian conditions in Gaza and uncertainty over US import taxes on key British goods in America threaten to complicate their bilateral meeting. Peace talks in the Middle East came to a standstill last week after the US and Israel recalled negotiating teams from Qatar, with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff blaming Hamas for a "lack of desire" to reach an agreement. Since then, Israel has promised military pauses in three populated areas of Gaza to allow designated UN convoys of aid to reach desperate Palestinians. But the UK, which is joining efforts to airdrop aid into the enclave and evacuate children in need of medical assistance, said that access to supplies must be "urgently" widened. During discussions with Mr Trump, Downing Street said the prime minister will "welcome the president's administration working with partners in Qatar and Egypt to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza". "He will discuss further with him what more can be done to secure the ceasefire urgently, bring an end to the unspeakable suffering and starvation in Gaza and free the hostages who have been held so cruelly for so long," it said. The leaders will also talk "one-on-one about advancing implementation of the landmark Economic Prosperity Deal so that Brits and Americans can benefit from boosted trade links between their two countries", it added. The agreement signed at the G7 summit last month cut trade barriers on goods from both countries. But tariffs for the steel industry, which is of key economic importance to the UK, were left to stand at 25% rather than falling to zero as originally agreed. Concerns had previously been raised that the sector could face a levy of up to 50% - the US's global rate - unless a further agreement was made by 9 July, when Mr Trump said he would start implementing import taxes on America's trading partners. But that deadline has been and gone without any concrete update on the status of UK steel. Downing Street said both sides are working "at pace" to "go further to deliver benefits to working people on both sides of the Atlantic" and to give UK industry "the security it needs". The two leaders are also expected to discuss the war in Ukraine, which Number 10 said would include "applying pressure" on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the invasion, before travelling on together for a private engagement in Aberdeen. It comes after Mr Trump announced he had agreed "the biggest deal ever made" between the US and the European Union after meeting Ursula von der Leyen for high-stakes talks at Turnberry yesterday. After a day playing golf, the US president met the president of the EU Commission to hammer out the broad terms of an agreement that will subject the bloc to 15% tariffs on most of its goods entering America. This is lower than a 30% levy previously threatened by the US president. The agreement will include "zero for zero" tariffs on a number of products including aircraft, some agricultural goods and certain chemicals, as well as EU purchases of US energy worth 750 billion dollars (€638bln) over three years. Speaking to journalists yesterday about his meeting with the prime minister, Mr Trump said: "We're meeting about a lot of things. We have our trade deal and it's been a great deal. "It's good for us. It's good for them and good for us. "I think the UK is very happy, they've been trying for 12 years to get it and they got it, and it's a great trade deal for both, works out very well." Mr Trump said he thinks discussions will feature "a lot about Israel". "They're very much involved in terms of wanting something to happen," he said. "He's doing a very good job, by the way," he added. Mr Trump's private trip to the UK comes ahead of a planned state visit in September.
