
Car driver fighting for life and passenger hurt after crash involving bus
Police were called around 1.55pm on Tuesday to a collision involving a red Honda Civic car and a bus on Main Street in Elderslie.
The 64-year-old male driver and 51-year-old female passenger of the car were taken to hospital, with the driver's condition described as critical.
The 54-year-old male driver of the bus and the passengers on board were uninjured in the incident.
Officers are continuing to review CCTV footage from the area following the collision.
Constable Ian Brown from Road Policing said: 'I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us.
'Some of the bus passengers had left the scene before we arrived and I would ask them to please get in touch.
'It's vital we have as much information as possible as we work to establish the full circumstances of the crash.'

Appeal after car torched outside property in Paisley
Police have provided details of the incident which took place earlier this week. An investigation has been launched by Police Scotland after a car was torched in Paisley. Officers were alerted to the incident on Tuesday when concerned members of the public reported a grey Vauxhall Corsa had been set alight outside a property on Ferguslie Park Avenue. Detectives are appealing for information following the wilful fire-raising incident. It happened between the hours of 9.10pm on Monday and 8.15am on Tuesday. Detective constable Jack McElwee from Police Scotland said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident, and I am asking anyone who might have been in the area and saw something to get in touch. 'Similarly, anyone in the area with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that might have captured anything that could be useful in our investigation is urged to contact us.' Police searching for van driver who fled after being caught fly-tipping
Police are searching for a driver who abandoned a van found in suspicious circumstances in Dumfries and Galloway. Officers were patrolling the A7 near to Auchenrivock in Langholm around midnight on Wednesday when they discovered a large amount of fresh fly-tipping. The nature of the incident is currently unknown. A residential street in Edinburgh has been locked down by police amid an ongoing incident. Officers from Police Scotland raced to an address on Broomhouse Terrace in the capital's Corstorphine area at around 11.40am on Thursday, August 7. The nature of the incident is currently unknown. Cars can be seen parked all the way up the avenue with one preventing traffic from entering the street. One passerby said: "I came around the corner and there was a marked police car blocking the road and officers stood nearby. It looked like there was a tent in the front garden of one of the homes.
