70s rock star bans fans from using phones at upcoming shows
The guitarist of rock band Cold Chisel has announced fans will be barred from taking photos and recording during his tour.
Ian Moss was one of the founding members of the Australian band, which came together in 1973 and was fronted by Jimmy Barnes.
Their debut single Khe Sanh, released in 1978, is one of the most popular songs ever recorded by an Australian act.
Although they disbanded in 1983, they've subsequently re-formed several times since then, the most recent being in 2012 when they also toured around the UK.
In the decades since Ian, 70, has embarked on a successful solo career, with his 1989 debut album reaching number one on the Aria Albums Chart.
This week he is hitting the road again for his latest tour, One Guitar One Night Only, but has now told fans they won't be able to use their phones at the gigs.
Posting on Instagram, Ian explained the decision.
'To ensure the best possible experience for everyone – both the audience and the artists – photography and video recording will not be permitted during the performance,' he began.
'In the past, we've taken a relaxed approach, but following feedback about disruptions, we've changed our policy. Venue staff have been briefed and will help us enforce this policy. There will be no exceptions.
'We kindly ask you to respect the performers, fellow concertgoers, and the atmosphere by switching off phones and other devices for the duration of the show. Be present and enjoy the performance with your eyes.'
Although some questioned the ban, the decision was largely met with support.
'While I think this is a cool move, I also think people should be allowed to record short 20 second videos of just their favourite songs! But I do still respect the decision made here,' Davis commented. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSUPj0o8Jo/
'Can't wait. What a great idea!' Laura shared.
'Having people videoing and shoving cameras up your nose is sort of putting when performing. Good call Ian,' Craig explained.
'This is objectively an improvement for concertgoers too, who don't want to watch the experience from behind the devices of those in the rows before them,' Joey added.
Last year Bob Dylan announced he would be banning phones throughout his UK tour.
The shows in London, Liverpool, Nottingham, Wolverhampton and Edinburgh, were phone-free, with people having to put their phones in a pouch, which closed automatically when in the venue and unlocked in the venue's concourse.
At the time organisers said they hoped that by removing fans' ability to use phones, the concerts would be more 'in keeping with many past performances'. More Trending
Two years earlier Placebo requested fans keep their phones in their pockets.
'It makes Placebo's performance so much more difficult,' they said. 'More difficult to connect with you and to communicate effectively the emotions of the songs.
'It is also disrespectful to your fellow concertgoers who want to watch the show, not the back of your phone.'

Ginny and Georgia fans fume at Netflix as awkward age leap 'ruins' new series
Fan favourite show Ginny and Georgia has returned to Netflix for an all new series which sees more dramatic storylines than ever but not all viewers are happy with the new episodes Ginny and Georgia fans have all said the same thing about brother's age leap in new series. The show has returned to Netflix for its third series, which viewers have waited two years for. Season three picks up just hours on from season two's finale - but not everyone looks the same. Many have pointed out that Ginny's brother Austin has grown up a lot since the last season. Fans have noticed that the actor who plays Austin looks a lot older than nine-years-old which is what he is meant to be in the show. Actor Diesel La Torraca who plays Austin is actually 14-year-old in real life so is five years older than the character he is playing. Many took to social media to point out the ridiculous age gap thanks to the huge break between filming the two series. The show has not aired for two years but has picked up where it left off in season two meaning there should be no age change in the character. Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "I fear ginny and georgia is going to have to recast the little brother because this is deeply unserious." As a second said: " #ginnyandgeorgiaS3 know they wrong for having this 14 year old boy play his 9 year old character. They let too much time pass in between filming and it's p***ing me off." "It's so ridiculous cause austin being so young made georgia's reckless choices hit harder. Now he looks the same age ginny's supposed to be playing and it just doesn't give the same effect," a fan pointed out. As a fourth added: "Netflix should stop taking 2+ years between seasons because wdym these two scenes are supposed to be only a few months apart? #ginnyandgeorgia." Diesel took to his own TikTok page back in May and shared a video of himself which he captioned: "My tryna convince people that Austin is still 9." The Australian-American actor has acted in several roles already despite just being in his teens which include in The Secrets She Keeps, Lambs of God, La Brea and Little Monsters. Actress Antonia Gentry who plays the main character of Ginny commented on how quickly the actor who plays her little brother has grown up. When season 3 filming began in 2024 she shared a side-by-side photo of herself and Diesel after filming season 1 compared with now which showed how much he had grown. He was originally much shorter than the actress and now he towers above her. Ginny and Georgia first arrived on Netflix back in 2021 and quickly became a fan-loves show. It is now in its third series and has got even more dramatic than before. Series two left off with a murder which mum-of-two Georgia is now being accused of, despite it actually being her son who committed the crime.

I've been getting surgeries since my teens - now I'm sick of looking like a Barbie so I've spent £120,000 reversing all my operations
A mother who started getting beauty treatments in her teens is fed up with being an 'unrecognisable Barbie doll ' - having now spent £120,000 to reverse her surgeries and ditched the Botox and fillers for good. For years, Tracy Kiss, from Buckinghamshire, has battled 'soul-destroying stares' from women who think she is 'after their husbands' because of her 'super-sized doughnut breasts'. The 36-year-old also suffers unwanted comments and looks from strangers both online and offline - which meant going to the beach with her kids or doing the school run was always tough. Over nearly two decades, Tracy has undergone five boob jobs, a chin liposuction, an upper eyelid lift, a rhinoplasty, a BBL, labiaplasty, teeth straightening and more. She also got quarterly Botox and facial fillers, plus other beauty treatments like semi permanent make-up top-up or eyelash extensions. Tired of being scrutinised, Tracy has spent the last year stripping back her appearance. 'People judged me negatively and assumed that I would be self-obsessed and uneducated,' Tracy, who has 1.2m Instagram followers, said. 'They believed I was unhappy and hated myself so had to turn to surgery and aesthetics to feel 'beautiful' - which wasn't the case. 'What started off as a very innocent 'treat' to have pretty nails and a nice tan for summer in my teens ultimately turned me into an unrecognisable Barbie doll in time. 'But I feel that I had to reach that point of fake-ness in order to bounce back, wake up and return to my natural self. 'I realised my choices over my appearance were only taking me further away from my authenticity and personality, so removing it feels like returning home. 'Now I actually look like my own children and receive so many compliments for looking much younger without makeup and 'not trying too hard.' Tracy started in August last year when she got her breast size reduced - paying £4,500 for the operation in Turkey to go from 32H to 32C. Since then, she's also had her fillers - which she gets in her chin, jawline, nose and lips - dissolved. The mother has cancelled her Botox appointments and ditched her hair and nail follow-ups. Tracy said: 'It's all too easy to spend £60 per week on lashes and nails, which then becomes hundreds per month when you factor in hair appointments, tanning, Botox and fillers top-ups. 'Before you know it, you suddenly have huge thick eyebrows, big lips and a motionless face with the smallest of imperfections becoming blindingly obvious. 'I realised that the woman staring back at me in the mirror isn't the person that I know myself to be.' Now, she is more confident in herself - and feels good about being able to go out with her children this summer without being stared at. Tracy, said: 'I feel far happier and healthier rolling out of bed and enjoying life without spending hours in the mirror fretting over signs of ageing. 'I live life for myself, as an individual, without the need to impress or compete with anybody because of my appearance.

AGE RAGE I wed a Nigerian toyboy 43 years my junior – people think I'm 'crazy', call me his 'grandma' & say he's with me for cash Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A 68-YEAR-OLD woman has revealed that she said 'I Do' with her Nigerian toyboy, who is 43 years her junior. When Kay, 68, and Ablack, 25, first connected on Facebook, they had no idea that a simple social media like would lead to marriage. Revealing all to Truly, on an episode of Love Don't Judge, the couple admitted that they are constantly stared at in the street and Kay has even been accused of being Ablack's 'grandma'. Opening up about how their relationship first blossomed, Kay recognised: "He liked something I posted. He went from somebody who liked my post to my very best friend, I could tell him everything. It just kept getting stronger and stronger." After three failed marriages, Kay was initially 'very leery about being scammed' by the youngster. Not only was the mother called 'crazy' by many, but before long, the couple had tied the knot, with Ablack being Kay's fourth husband. Despite falling in love, the couple constantly face judgement over their age gap, with Kay being 43 years older than Ablack. But Kay beamed: 'I do not feel old when I'm around him. I feel very young, like a teenager.' With Ablack based in Nigeria and Kay over in the US, the pair have had to make the relationship work with the geographical distance. However, Ablack knows that the pair are destined to be, as he acknowledged: "A prophet told me that I'm going to get married to a white woman and here she is.' But although destiny brought them together, not everyone agrees with their relationship, as Ablack said, "Some people say, 'she's old enough to be your mum'. Some say, 'you're married to your grandma', 'she's too old for you'. I'm 20 and my man is 63 - people say he looks like Shrek and I must be in it for the money, but I'd still love him if he was a cleaner 'Anywhere we go, people take pictures of us.' Not only this, but people have even accused Ablack of getting 'married for a US green card'. Be careful girl. Scammers can be 'in love' too! YouTube user Clearly unfazed by the judgement, Kay, who is often referred to as Ablack's 'sugar mummy', said: "I've never felt love like this before. "This is the one I'm supposed to be with, I just had to wait a long time for him to be born. 'He treats me like a Queen. I'm his priority.'
