The word 'Serve'—meaning "to present oneself with confidence and style, often in a way that is considered impressive or striking"—is deeply rooted in contemporary Gen Z speak but has also surfaced in trending lexicon across generations, capturing the spirit of confident, standout self-expression across fashion, beauty, and beyond. 'SERVE' responds to this evolution, functioning not just as an online store but as a continuously refreshed destination that delivers on-trend styles while empowering individual expression. The online store has seen 3X increase in Gen Z customers and a 4X surge in shoppers from Tier II and III cities like Chandigarh, Kochi, Patna, Nagpur, Jaipur, and Surat, 'SERVE' is set to redefine how this crucial demographic engages with fashion.
'SERVE' offers an unparalleled selection with over 2 million products from more than 350 domestic and global brands, including new additions like Barcino, Tokyo Talkies, Highlander, The Bear House, Diljit x Levi's, Mokobara, Casio, Chumbak, Cosrx, and Moxie. 'SERVE' caters to Gen Z's dynamic tastes with a unique blend of fast fashion, sustainable options, and affordable styles. This new identity includes a fresh logo and design language that is visually compelling and authentic, and scalable across platforms. The on-site experience has been enhanced, prioritizing discovery, community, and trend-forward curation, with updated imagery styles and voice & tone that reflect Gen Z's diverse interests and subcultures.

Gold prices are likely to remain elevated through the second half of 2025, driven by macroeconomic headwinds, geopolitical risks, and rising investment demand, according to a new outlook from Ventura Securities, a full-service stockbroking and investment platform. The brokerage expects COMEX Gold to touch $3,600 an ounce by December 2025, after hitting a record $3,534.10 on August 7, surpassing the earlier peak of US$3,509.90 set in April this year. A Proven Hedge Against Market Volatility Over the last two decades, gold has delivered positive returns in 14 out of 20 calendar years, reinforcing its status as a store of value. Recent performance has been particularly robust, with gold delivering an average annual return of 23% over the last three years, more than double the 11% average return from the Nifty 50. The appetite for gold investments in has shifted dramatically toward digital channels such as Gold ETFs and Sovereign Gold Bonds. As of June 30, 2025, India's gold ETF holdings surged 42% year-on-year to 66.68 tonnes. Assets under management (AUM) jumped 88% to ₹64,777 crore. The number of investor accounts grew 41% to 76.54 lakh. Drivers of this trend include Gen Z investors, fractional ownership models, social media influence, and fintech platforms making gold more accessible. Global Demand Dynamics Gold demand worldwide has remained firm: Global demand in Q2 2025 rose 3% year-on-year to 1,249 tonnes, led by ETF inflows and investment demand. Central bank purchases remain robust, with global reserves now at 36,345 tonnes. India's central bank gold reserves have climbed to 880 tonnes. These strong fundamentals — combined with steady central bank buying and inflows into ETFs — reinforce Ventura's bullish price forecast. What It Means for Investors For retail investors, gold's rally signals the importance of allocating a portion of the portfolio to the precious metal, particularly in times of heightened uncertainty. Diversification: Gold's negative correlation with equities makes it a strong hedge against stock market volatility. Digital Gold Options: With rising ETF participation, investors can access gold in smaller ticket sizes without storage concerns. Portfolio Allocation: Financial planners typically recommend 5–15% of portfolio allocation to gold, depending on risk appetite. Timing the Market: While gold is at record highs, staggered investments through SIPs in gold ETFs or Sovereign Gold Bonds can reduce entry risk. 'Gold's strategic role in portfolios has strengthened as investors navigate an era of slower global growth, policy uncertainty, and elevated geopolitical risks. With inflationary pressures, a softening US dollar, and anticipated US Fed rate cuts, we see sustained upside potential in gold prices through the remainder of 2025. Its findings show widespread concern that AI is not merely another workplace tool but a force that could fundamentally reshape careers, industries, and even the social fabric of the country. For Gen Z—students and young professionals entering the job market—the implications are stark. They may be stepping into the most uncertain employment landscape in decades. Low unemployment, high anxiety Official numbers suggest stability. The US unemployment rate was 4.2% in July, a relatively low figure by historical standards. Yet the Reuters/Ipsos poll shows a growing perception gap: even as jobs exist today, Americans fear the long-term erosion of work opportunities due to AI. Unlike earlier waves of automation that primarily affected manufacturing and manual labor, AI threatens knowledge work—jobs in law, journalism, customer service, finance, and even medicine. These are the careers many Gen Z students are currently training for. 'People are not just worried about layoffs,' Reuters reported. 'They are worried that the work itself could vanish.' The Gen Z dilemma For Gen Z, the AI question is not abstract—it's deeply personal. This generation is already grappling with rising housing costs, inflation, and gig-based employment structures. Now, they must also consider whether AI will undercut their chances at stable, long-term careers. Some experts argue that history offers hope. Just as the internet revolution created industries that were unimaginable in the 1990s, AI could give rise to new roles—from AI ethics officers to digital trust managers and climate-tech innovators. But as the Reuters report makes clear, most Americans aren't convinced that new opportunities will outweigh the losses. Stop trying to be liked: why great brand strategy repels more than it attracts

By Kunal Vora There's this bizarre idea floating around boardrooms, branding decks and client WhatsApp groups, that a good brand should be liked. Liked by everyone. Liked by boomers, Gen Z, housewives, hipsters, HNIs, CFOs, CXOs, startup bros, school kids, maybe even aliens if they've got purchasing power. It's not just unrealistic. It's dangerous. Because when your brand's strategy starts chasing likes, what you get isn't mass appeal. You get mass confusion. And what gets lost in the noise? Clarity. Identity. Direction. In other words, everything that makes a brand a brand. Polarity isn't marketing, it's architecture. When a brand tries to please everyone, it doesn't just go soft in tone. It crumbles at the core. Most brand architecture decks I see are filled with stretched umbrellas, bloated brand extensions, and logos that want to hug the whole world. Nobody wants to say no to anything. Or anyone. But the best brand architecture systems exclude by design. They make sharp calls on who this brand is for, and who it's absolutely not for. And they allow sub-brands or endorsed units to go deep into specific audiences instead of watering down the masterbrand. Take a look at Tata. You've got Tanishq for aspirational, design-conscious jewellery buyers. Titan for the middle-class wristwatch. Croma for consumer electronics. Tata Motors for transport and utility. Each has its own identity and strategy. Contrast that with conglomerate group brands that force fit everything under one name, terrified that they'll lose recall if they let go. They might get remembered but sometimes for the wrong reasons. Polarity isn't a bug in architecture. It's the whole point. Positioning that doesn't rule people out is just wallpaper Here's the thing, if your brand positioning sounds like a horoscope, it's not a positioning. 'Empowering people to live better lives.' 'Helping the world connect through meaningful innovation.' 'Creating value through customer-centric excellence.' What does that even mean? Great positioning doesn't just attract. It repels. It tells a certain kind of person: this isn't for you. Tesla didn't start out as 'eco-friendly mobility for all.' It was a car for people who wanted to show off that they were saving the planet, with a 0 to 100 in 3.1 seconds. Boat isn't 'premium audio for everyone.' It was built for desi swagger. Loud, proud, Bollywood-tuned. You think they cared about what Sennheiser fans thought? Paper Boat made a gutsy call early on. They didn't go after 'all Indian beverages for all people.' They focused on nostalgia. Select flavours. Indian packaging design that felt emotional, not mass-produced. It was an identity-first brand from day one. They didn't want to win every shelf. They wanted to win meaning. The way I see it, if your brand positioning doesn't scare your sales team just a little, it's probably too soft. Beliefs are only strong if they invite disagreement A lot of brands confuse being relatable with being liked. So they pick 'safe' values, the usual suspects: trust, innovation, empathy, customer-first. But brand beliefs aren't supposed to be soft blankets. They're supposed to be sharp knives. You can't stand for something unless you're willing to stand against something too. That's what gives the belief system teeth. Harley-Davidson doesn't just stand for 'freedom.' It stands against the sanitized, rule-bound culture of 'normal' society. You buy a Harley not just to ride but to belong to the rebellion. Honda, on the other hand, stands for reliability, sensibility, and mainstream appeal. Great. But put Harley and Honda next to each other and ask: which one feels like a belief system, and which one feels like a brochure? Brands with sharp beliefs know that trying to please everyone is the fastest way to please no one. Remember when CRED dropped their campaign with Rahul Dravid smashing cars and screaming in traffic? Some people were confused. Others thought it was genius. But almost nobody said, 'meh.' And that's what made it work. From the tagline 'Not everyone gets it', to the visual aesthetic, to the choice of brand ambassadors, they weren't trying to appeal to your uncle in Baroda who wants cashback offers. They were targeting urban, early-adopter, meme-literate, value-conscious but design-aware Indians. And they leaned in hard. That's brand strategy with teeth. Not another brand doing another campaign trying to be 'youthful yet trustworthy.' So what's the real takeaway? Trying to be liked is a branding disease. It starts small in positioning statements that sound like wedding vows. Then it infects architecture, messaging, visual identity, belief systems - everything. And before you know it, your brand is a beige smoothie. With a smile. The brands that win aren't the ones with the most likes. They're the ones that stand for something so clearly, so sharply, that the right people see them and say: 'Yes. That's mine.' And the wrong people? They can scroll past. Let them.
