Buy or sell: Stock recommendation by brokers for August 14, 2025
Motilal Oswal Financial Services has upgraded Bharat Dynamics to buy from neutral with an unchanged target price of Rs 1,900. Analysts said the stock's valuation is turning reasonable.
During the April-June quarter (Q1), Bharat Dynamics delivered strong 30% annual growth in execution on the back of a strong order book and the easing of supply chain issues as compared to last year. With a strong order book, they expect execution to scale up further in the coming quarters. They also expect Bharat Dynamics to benefit from a strong prospect pipeline of nearly Rs 50,000 crore and an emergency procurement program.
ICICI Securities has maintained its buy recommendation on Jyothy Laboratories with the target price cut to Rs 430 from Rs 450 earlier. Analysts said in Q1 the company's performance was subdued, with revenue/volume growth impacted by heightened competitive intensity across segments. Volume growth was driven by the fabric care and dishwash categories, and the rural markets continued to outperform the urban markets.

PL Capital maintained its buy rating on Cello World with the target price cut to Rs 678 from Rs 746 earlier. Analysts said the company in Q1 announced soft revenue growth along with margin pressure across segments. Consumerware revenue (69% of total revenue) reported soft growth due to the early onset of rains, which affected the hydration category, while glassware products grew 50%.
Writing instruments faced weak demand in both export and domestic markets, though the company expects demand improvement in FY26, driven by new launches, higher advertising spends to drive market share expansion, and a strong export order pipeline.
Jefferies has a buy rating on FSN E-Commerce Ventures with a slightly higher target price of Rs 250 from Rs 240 earlier. Analysts said, despite slowing urban consumption along with continued quick commerce ramp-up, Nykaa reported an impressive 26% growth in beauty business along with margin expansion.
They said that fashion growth picked up, and the management continued to balance growth and profitability. Its B2B ecommerce had another blockbuster quarter.
Marketing spends in beauty & personal care products continued to go up, signalling growth focus. Own brands reached an impressive Rs 2,700 crore in annualised gross merchandise value. Nykaa Now (quicker delivery) continues to scale up well.
Emkay Global Financial Services retained its reduce rating on Hindalco with a target price of Rs 650.
Analysts said that the company reported Q1 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of Rs 8,670 crore (down 15.8% on the quarter), led by weakness in Novelis. Aluminium upstream EBITDA fell 15.7% on the quarter on lower prices, partly offset by cheaper coal. Per the management, Novelis was impacted by high scrap prices and tariffs.
Key initiatives, including captive coal mines, are expected to cut costs by about 30%, with initial output in FY27.
Downstream EBITDA reached a record high while the copper segment gained from better realizations despite lower treatment and refining charges.

FASTag Annual Pass Debuts With 1.4 Lakh Sales, 1.39 Lakh Transactions On Day 1
The pass, available at over 1,150 toll plazas nationwide, allows non-commercial vehicle owners unlimited travel for one year or up to 200 trips with a one-time payment of Rs 3,000 On its launch day, the FASTag annual pass recorded 1.4 lakh activations and 1.39 lakh toll transactions, according to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The pass, available at over 1,150 toll plazas nationwide, allows non-commercial vehicle owners unlimited travel for one year or up to 200 trips with a one-time payment of Rs 3,000. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said it has 'successfully implemented" the FASTag annual pass facility on national highways and expressways nationwide. Around 20,000-25,000 concurrent users are using the Rajmargyatra app at any given time, and annual pass users receive SMS messages for zero toll fee deduction. 'The Annual Pass has received an overwhelming response from the National Highway users. Till 7 pm on the first day of implementation, around 1.4 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass and around 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded on toll plaza," it said. NHAI officials and nodal officers have been appointed at each toll plaza to ensure a smooth travel experience for the pass users, apart from addressing queries of the pass users through various channels. Also, to address the grievances of pass users, 1033 National Highway Helpline has been further strengthened with the addition of over 100 executives, the government said. Providing a seamless and economical travel option to the national highway users, the annual pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge FASTag through a one-time fee payment of Rs 3,000. The annual pass is applicable for all non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag and gets activated within two hours of the one-time fee payment through the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI website. With a penetration rate of around 98 per cent and over eight crore users, FASTag has revolutionised the electronic toll collection system in the country. The introduction of the annual pass facility will not only enhance the FASTag user experience but also make journeys on the national highways and expressways more economical and seamless. The annual pass can be attached to the user's existing FASTag card. Once the pass expires, either after one year or 200 trips, it can be easily recharged. The official said the pass would benefit frequent city-to-city travellers and those who drive regularly to their hometowns.
