Soweto giants Orlando Pirates might have to look elsewhere for a new left-back. Vuyo Letlapa looks to be on his way to Europe.

FRENCH CLUB WIN VUYO LETLAPA RACE?
'There are local teams which have shown interest and Pirates were believed to be in the forefront to sign him but apparently the French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice is the one leading now,' a source told Soccer Laduma. 'They are very close to closing the deal. Remember, we spoke about European interest before,' the insider added.
According to another source, the French side have offered to pay R20 million for the Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs target.
'Yes, that's what Sekhukhune United are looking at. R20m is what the price is believed to be for Vuyo (Letlapa),' the source said to the outlet.

'And just like they did with Elias Mokwana to Esperance de Tunis, they are including a 30% sell on clause to the next club agreement on the deal. So, if Nice sells Vuyo then Sekhukhune United will get 30% from that deal. That's why they are looking at R20m for now,' he concluded.
WHICH OTHER LEFT-BACK SHOULD BUCS LOOK AT?

Orlando Pirates transfer news: Four more players to leave?
Are Orlando Pirates finished releasing players? Not a chance. Miguel Timm and Innocent Maela's departures last week are expected to be followed by additional names. Former coach Jose Riveiro successfully recruited new talent from the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC), while Orlando Pirates have also made two new signings. According to reports, the Buccaneers are likely to say goodbye to four more players: Gilberto, Katlego Otladisa, Siphelo Baloni, and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo. Soccer Laduma have said: 'Angolan winger Gilberto, who left the club on loan in January, is unlikely to have his stay extended, while Katlego Otladisa, who has struggled for game time and was loaned to Sekhukhune United, could also be among those set to leave. 'Midfielders Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Siphelo Baloni are also understood to be facing uncertain futures at the club, as the club is evaluating who fits into the plans for the long term. 'While the full list of departures is yet to be confirmed, it's clear that the winds of change are sweeping through the Bucs camp, with more announcements expected in the coming days as preparations intensify for the new season,' the report added. SOWETO SWAP: Saleng signs pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs?
Monnapule Saleng is believed (per SoccerLaduma) to have signed a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs following a tumultuous season at Orlando Pirates. Negotiations between the parties have yet to be confirmed, but if this is the case, Orlando Pirates legend doesn't see it working out for the 27-year-old. 'Is he (Saleng) that type of a player that can really play for Chiefs, the way they are playing? I don't think so,' Vilikazi questioned. 'An example, look at (Gaston) Sirino [at Kaizer Chiefs], he's no more the Sirino we knew at Sundowns, because of the type of players surrounding him.' 'What's happening to Sirino now, is the same thing that happened to Khama Billiat. The same thing that happened to Keagan Dolly and now it's happening to Sirino, you cannot have Sirino alone and not have other good players surrounding him,' he added. 'Obviously he's going to have a lot on his shoulders. So, he needs support. So even if Saleng goes and plays for Kaizer Chiefs, he's going to struggle like Sirino is struggling, because there's no core at Chiefs that is very strong, that when everyone comes in (they fit in) like puzzles. Those pazzles at Chiefs are scattered.' Former Kaizer Chiefs manager Gavin Hunt believes Fiston Mayele would transform AmaKhosi into a title challenging side. 'In the PSL, I think he can be a 30-goal striker, I really do. I think he'll make goals on his own, by just movement, strength and power. [If he signs for Kaizer Chiefs] they win a treble,' Hunt mentioned. The CAF Champions League winner has Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Chiefs vying for his services. PSG's Dembele and Doue named Champions League players of the season
Paris St Germain striker Ousmane Dembele was named Champions League Player of the Season by Uefa on Sunday after his turnaround campaign ended with him playing a major role in his side winning the competition for the first time. Dembele's teenage teammate Desire Doue was named Champions League young player of the season by European football's governing body. Dembele struggled early in the campaign, dropped by coach Luis Enrique for a league phase game with Arsenal for disciplinary reasons, but the 28-year-old went on to score eight Champions League goals after his switch to a more central role. PSG finally have their hands on the #UCL trophy 🥹🏆 #UCLFinal | #SSUCL — SuperSport Football ⚽️ (@SSFootball) May 31, 2025 While Dembele failed to find the net in PSG's 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in Saturday's final in Munich, he was singled out by the manager for his performance. 'I would give the Ballon d'Or to Mr. Ousmane Dembele,' Luis Enrique said. 'The way he defended tonight, just that alone could be worth the Ballon d'Or. That's how you lead a team. Goals, trophies, leadership, defence, his pressing.' The 19-year-old Doue wrapped up his extremely impressive campaign by creating the opening goal in the final for Achraf Hakimi before scoring twice himself. PSG had seven players named in the competition's team of the season while humbled finalists Inter had just one included.
