Shoppers rush to buy stylish 'fantastic quality' picnic blanket that's 'perfect on damp grass'
No more damp trousers on dewy picnics thanks to this picnic blanket
Picnics always seem like a lovely idea when the sun is shining. Nothing compares to some fancy picky bits (especially from Marks and Spencer... if you know, you know) and even a bottle of prosecco in the park with friends and family.
However, the fun can be ruined before it even begins if the grass is dewy or freshly mowed - especially if picnickers have rocked up to the park without a blanket. That's why getting a stylish but practical picnic blanket is essential - one that's easy to carry and looks lovely spread out on a summer's day.
Amazon has this VonShef Picnic Blanket for £24.99, and shoppers are praising it as a picnic essential. Measuring 200 x 220cm, it's big enough for a nice group to gather or to sprawl out on solo, and it's got waterproof backing to protect users' trousers from any damp grass they might encounter.
The blanket comes in a range of colours, but the green herringbone style is particularly appealing. Plus, it comes with a faux leather handle for easy transport, and it folds down nice and compact for stashing in the car boot when not in use.
If this blanket isn't to shoppers' tastes, Debenhams has a pretty leaf print blanket for £14.99. The 'Matteo' Leaf Print Waterproof Backed Picnic Blanket is currently 25% off online, has a durable waterproof backing and rolls up neatly with a carry handle.
Alternatively, fans of the herringbone style could try the Boho Herringbone Foldaway Picnic Blanket for £14. This premium-looking picnic blanket also has waterproof backing and a carry handle, making it ideal for picnics on any terrain.
However, the VonShef Picnic Blanket on Amazon has plenty of great reviews. One shopper said: "Really great picnic mat – well made and beautifully delivered with a handy harness to keep it rolled up. Very happy with this purchase!"
Another added: "Such a spacious picnic blanket! Large enough for a family to comfortably sit on. Really good materials and good quality, no complaints."
A third said: "I'll be honest, this is one very sexy picnic blanket. The size is brilliant and the quality is excellent, can't wait to get more use out of it in the summer holidays."
Some shoppers did flag problems with rolling the blanket up in windy places, however: "The blanket itself is nice and decent quality, but the rolling up 'mechanism' is so awkward. There is no attached velcro, so you need to roll it and then buckle it up manually, which — on a windy beach — is a real pain."
Another warned about washing the blanket: "The fabric feels nice, haven't tested out the waterproof membrane... But we will see. Disappointed that it is hand wash only, but I assume that's due to the waterproof backing. That's the only downside."
However, for a premium picnic blanket that's suitable for use on all terrain, the VonShef Picnic Blanket seems worth a look.

Marks & Spencer shoppers rushing to store to visit 'dangerous' aisle
Iconic high street retailer has spruced up one of the aisles at its beloved stores, prompting excitement among shoppers eager to see it in person but some have branded it 'dangerous' Marks and Spencer shoppers are all eager to visit the store to visit one spruced up aisle that's been branded 'dangerous' - because of how much shoppers are worried they'll spend there. The iconic retailer had humble beginnings as a market stall in Leeds, originally founded in 1884, before going on to become the high street juggernaut so known and loved today. The company is renowned for its high quality products which span multiple departments. Shoppers can peruse the latest fashion trends, an array of homeware, lingerie, beauty products and more. Equally as popular is its famed Food Halls, which offer branded food and drink as well as M&S 's own in-house range. Similar to many of its high street competitors, the beloved retailer makes use of social media to keep customers updated on all the newest products and releases. M&S operates a string of Instagram pages, each focused on a specific department. In a recent post which was cross shared to its main account and its food account, Marks and Spencer revealed its crisp aisle has had a 'glow up'. The retailer shared a video showcasing the aisle. Over the top of the footage were the words: 'M&S has the ultimate crisp aisle'. The clip then showed nine large, varying bags of crisps being added to a basket and added the text: 'We've got it all!' The footage was viewed more than 109K times and pulled in over 1.6K likes a hundred comments. Captioning the popular video, M&S penned: 'Our crisp aisle has had quite the glow up over the past few months, and here it is in all its glory. 'Brand-new, eye-catching packaging, upgraded recipes and delicious newbies make the M&S crisp aisle the place to be. What's your top pick?' In the comments section, people were keen to share their thoughts. One person declared: 'My favourite aisle'. Another joked: 'Too dangerous for me', while a third shared a sense of nostalgia: 'I [love] the crisp sticks, they remind me of Sunday tea at my Nan's in the 70s & early 80s. She would only shop in the food hall at M&S every Thursday.' Moving onto the topic of their favourite flavours, one shopper said: 'It's ALL about those Worcester sauce crisps - hands down the best ones out there!' Another said: 'The chicken and garlic butter ones are insane'. One customer confessed: 'Would love to see the combo mix back in multipacks rather than the large share bags…..which I don't have the self control to resist!' Another shopper shared their sadness over their favourite flavour being discontinued. They said: 'Only you stopped doing the bestest of all….Salted Potato Rings!!!' Someone else felt the same and replied: 'I agree … why did you stop them'. This prompted M&S to respond: 'Hi there, I've let our Food team know you'd love to see these back in stock' while another M&S comment added: 'I can see Stefan has let the team know about this now. Fingers crossed!'

Why Everyone Is Loving M&S Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained: 'M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about. 'A brand once known for its 'frumpy fashion' that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear. 'Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price. 'The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also. 'Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30. 'After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on. 'Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.' "I bought the black and brown and ended up keeping both as they are so versatile." It comes after to grab following the cyber attack suspended online orders. If you're looking for the perfect summer top to go with the shorts, M&S has you covered too.

Lauren Sanchez looks unrecognizable in shocking throwback snap as she gives rare glimpse into her childhood
looked unrecognizable in a shocking throwback snap as she gave fans a rare glimpse into her childhood. The brunette beauty, 55, is set to marry Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in a multi-million dollar wedding in Venice later this year. But on Sunday, to mark Father's Day, Lauren took to her Instagram stories with snapshots that showcased her humble beginnings. The mom-of-three shared an image from inside a very modest looking home complete with a boxy TV and a Christmas tree in the corner of the room. She looked world's away from her modern-day appearance as she beamed sweetly - sporting a double denim ensemble and bouffant hairdo. The youngster also had her hands placed lovingly on her father's shoulders as he knelt in front of her facing the camera. Another snap showed Lauren posing outside her humble family home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, alongside her father. She wrote: 'Happy Father's Day to all the amazing dads out there, especially you. 'Thank you for the strength, love and laughter you bring into our lives. Grateful today and everyday.' Lauren did not publicly pay tribute to her husband-to-be or her exes with whom she shares children. Her current lavish lifestyle is indeed a far cry from her younger years. She was born and raised in Albuquerque, where she attended Del Norte High School and was a cheerleader. After her graduation she moved to California and enrolled in El Camino College, before moving to the University of Southern California, where she pursued a communications major. Sanchez began her broadcasting career as an intern at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles before working as a reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix. She then returned to Los Angeles and became a special correspondent for Extra. She and Bezos went public with their relationship in 2019 before getting engaged last May. The couple are now gearing up for their nuptials and it is thought that they will be joined by A-list celebrities, politicians and world-leading businessmen as they descend on Venice, Italy, later this month. The lavish event and its extensive guest list will mean beefed-up security, closed streets, monitored airspace and a strong police presence. Bezos' $500million superyacht 'Koru' will be moored at San Basilio – the closest it can get to the city center due to its fragile ecosystem – and be in sight of the Hotel Cipriani, where many will be lodged. It's thought Bezos, Sanchez and their immediate families will stay on the nine-bedroom yacht with other guests split between the Cipriani and Aman hotels nearby. Although their attendance isn't confirmed, it is rumored Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are invited. Wedding experts Kunal Madan, the CEO and Founder of and Zoe Buke, from told the Daily Mail their wedding will likely cost as much as $15million to $20million - depending on venue exclusivity, location planning, and celebrity headcount.
