Danny Dyer impersonators don their finest tracksuits as they take part in lookalike competition with the seal of approval from the man himself - but do YOU think they picked the right winner?
The event was announced by the actor's Mr. Bigstuff co-stars Ryan Sampson and Harriet Webb on the weekend, who asked the country: 'Britain, do you look like Danny Dyer? Do you smoke a lot of fags?'
And it seems a fair few 'stubbly blokes', as Ryan described them, thought they fit the bill, with Shoreditch's Hoxton Square full with Danny doppelgangers clad in their best Sergio Tacchini jackets for the competition.
One of whom was the former EastEnders star's official lookalike, who is actually signed to an agency thanks to his striking resemblance to the man himself.
Rocking Danny's brown beard and slicked back hair, the similarities between him and the actor, now 47, were nothing short of uncanny.
But perhaps surprisingly, he was pipped to the prize by another contender.
The day's winner was jubilant after being crowned the 'Best Danny', and was pictured celebrating in front of the crowds who turned up for the occasion.
Despite looking perhaps less like Danny in the face than his most fierce competition, he was likely victorious for his outfit, with the winner sporting a white and maroon Sergio Tacchini jacket akin to those rocked by the iconic Brit in his 2005 movie The Business.
With a crown perched on his head and a ribbon tied around his torso, the day's victor posed for a photo alongside judges Ryan and Harriet and, of course, a cut out of Danny Dyer himself.
He beat off competition from more than ten potential lookalikes sporting Fila jackets, sunglasses and almost all with their hair jelled and slickly combed back just like the East London icon, who sadly was not present.
This competition had the seal of approval from Danny himself, who took to Instagram to repost a video of a fan claiming they'd be taking the day off work to attend the event.
As Ryan and Harriet referenced in their promotion of Wednesday's event, the Danny lookalike competition comes after a growing global trend of celebrity doppelganger contests.
An army of budding Harry Styles doubles descended upon on the English capital late last year for instance for a head-to-head.
Judged by a mix of notable names and One Direction super fans, competitors were encouraged to dress up in bold outfits inspired by the singer's famously flamboyant wardrobe.
One of those in attendance was the former EastEnders actor's official lookalike (pictured), who is signed by an agency as a Danny Dyer lookalike
With a crown perched on his head and a ribbon tied around his torso, he posed for a photo alongside judges Ryan and Harriet and, of course, a cut out of Danny himself
The panel of judges included Ryan Lanji, a party planner known for his work on RuPaul's Drag Race UK, and the author of The Book of Harry, Bonnie McLaren.
Prizes ranged from £50 for the winner and a selection of hair products for the victor in the 'best hair' category to a six-pack of organic wine for the 'best style'.
And even the entrant unfortunate enough to be ranked as the worst Styles lookalike did not leave the event empty-handed, as they claimed a four-pack of cheap beer.
Eventually Oscar Jorneaux won the contest, a 22-year-old musician who admitted he entered for 'publicity'.
Just weeks earlier New York hosted a similar Timothee Chalamet competition, with fans left in a frenzy when the actor and boyfriend of Kylie Jenner arrived unannounced.
Flanked by bodyguards, the actor posed for photographs with his curly-haired doppelgangers - some of whom had dressed as his characters, including Willy Wonka and Dune protagonist Paul Atreides.
So impressive were the day's competitors that some fans heaped their attention onto them, mistaking them for Timothee himself.
Noah Wildie, 23, told DailyMail.com it was 'insane' when the actor arrived, as hundreds of fans passionately screaming.

Baby joy for Duke and Duchess of Westminster as couple announce birth of first child year on from society wedding of the year that starred Prince William as an usher
The Duke and Duchess of Westminster have joyfully announced the birth of their first child. Billionaire aristocrat Hugh Grosvenor and his wife Olivia confirmed they had welcomed a baby girl, a year after they got married in what was the society wedding of the year, starring Prince William as an usher. The happy couple also revealed their daughter had been named Cosima Florence Grosvenor. A spokesperson for the pair said: 'The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter. 'Both the duchess and Cosima are doing well. 'The duke and duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family.' The duke is a close friend of princes William and Harry and is godfather to Prince George as well as reportedly Prince Archie. The Duke of Sussex agreed with Hugh, who is one of the UK's biggest landowners, that he would not attend his wedding last June amid a long-running feud with his brother. Once considered one of the country's most eligible bachelors, Hugh became an instant billionaire when he inherited his title and control of the historic Grosvenor Estate aged just 25, after his father died from a heart attack in 2016. His property company, Grosvenor Group, owns hundreds of acres of land in Mayfair and Belgravia, as well as major city centre developments such as Liverpool's One shopping centre. The duke donated £12.5 million to the UK's Covid relief effort in 2020, including funds for NHS Charities Together and for medical research and development. In April, the Duke and Duchess of Westminster joined Prince William and Prince George to cheer on Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League against Paris St Germain. It was their first public appearance after announcing they were expecting a baby. Hugh and Olivia showed their support, each wearing matching burgundy scarfs with Aston Villa emblazoned in white across the length of the neckwear. Earlier this year, a spokesman for the pair said: 'The Duchess is expecting a baby in the summer. The couple are delighted with the news and are very much looking forward to starting a family together.' The pair announced their engagement in April 2023, after being together for two years. They decided to marry at Chester Cathedral, before inviting around 400 guests including Princess Eugenie and TV producer Phil Redmond, to go to a lavish reception at the Grosvenor family seat, Eaton Hall, just outside Chester. The Duke paid for free ice cream, gelato and sorbet for Cheshire locals from three local independent cafes so they could join in the celebration. And a staggering 100,000 flowers - all paid for by the Duke - were planted throughout the city and donated to charity following the ceremony. No expense was spared as Olivia arrived at the Cathedral in a vintage 1930 8-litre Bentley owned by the Grosvenor estate. The bride's veil was designed by Emma Victoria Payne and featuring an embroidery design which incorporated floral motifs from her great-great-grandmother's veil from around 1880. Her dress was made by the same designer and she accessorised with blue shoes and the Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara made for Grosvenor brides to wear on their wedding day, which has been in the family since 1906.

Chart topper Tyla confesses huge success of hit record Water left her feeling ‘trapped' as she releases hot new track
BECOMING an overnight sensation has proved to be a blessing and a curse for Tyla. The South African singer felt 'trapped' after her single Water reached No4 in the UK charts and was a global hit in 2023. While her self-titled debut album was a top 20 hit the following year. At an exclusive Q&A in London last week, she explained: 'For a while, especially last year, I felt so trapped. 'Like, 'Oh my word, I blew up and I just have to have everything right and everything has to be perfect now because the world is looking.' 'It was kind of stressful for me.' But on Friday she released her brilliantly fun and upbeat four-track EP WWP — which stands for We Wanna Party — and has finally given her the chance to 'experiment.' She said: 'I wasn't planning on doing this. I was just making music at the beginning of the year. It was mainly for an album. 'But as I got closer to summer, I was like, 'Hey the songs I was making were too good . . . where are the summer songs? 'We need some summer songs right now' and I am just too excited to hold on to them. 'I really just want people to hear it and party to it, and see how I've grown through the years and just see who I am now.' And it seems like she's more confident than ever, which isn't something she will apologise for. Tyla — who will perform at All Points East festival in London's Victoria Park next month — said: 'I just always knew I had something in me. 'I just always had that kind of peace knowing that this is the life I'm gonna live. 'I don't let anybody or anything limit me or put me in a box. I think I'm just confident. 'A lot of people say arrogant, but I think everyone needs a little bit of arrogance, especially to make it in this industry and to make people believe in your music. 'If you're not that proud and you don't believe in your stuff as strongly as you should, why would someone else?' SIR MICK JAGGER turned 82 on Saturday and his long-term girlfriend Mel Hamrick celebrated by sharing this adorable photo of him with their son. In the snap posted on Instagram, The Rolling Stones rocker was seen grinning and wearing matching bunny ears with his youngest kid, Deveraux. 9 While the eight-year-old lad is most definitely the cutest, Mick was no doubt spoilt by all eight of his children on his big day. In the past, Mick's admitted fatherhood can be a bit of a handful. He said: 'You get a bit out of practice – it's not like riding a bike. The more children you have, the more laissez-faire you get about them, to be honest. 'It's fun to have children, at any age. But if you're working, and always away, you don't get to enjoy it as much.' It looks like he found time for a hoppy birthday, at least. ROBBIE'S LOTTERY WINNER THE LOTTERY WINNERS have been flying high thanks to Robbie Williams, inviting them to be the support act on his Brit Pop tour. Lead singer Thomas Rylance revealed how the friendship flourished. Speaking at the Together Again Festival at Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire, he said: 'Robbie reached out because he'd heard a few of our songs and read some interviews and he wanted to be friends. We spent months chatting on FaceTime. And then one day he asked if we fancied coming on tour. 'It's been stadiums every night. And to watch Rob do those shows, he's just magic. 'He's just as lovely off stage as he is on stage. He's just such an inspiring man to be around. I think he's my soul mate.' Despite his late night headliner slot, Olly Murs won the prize for the weirdest rider request of the weekend – asking for boxes of Coco Pops and Cornflakes. IT'S little wonder Jennifer Lopez has such a huge smile on her face. She performed to more than 70,000 fans in Poland, this weekend and looked proud as punch as she headed out with friends afterwards. 9 9 9 Jen, who looked chic in this nude coloured blazer dress, has been riding high on the success of her shows which have seen her take repeated swipes at her ex Ben Affleck. Last week, insiders told Bizarre's Howell that J-Lo had a whole new album ready to go, with Jen saying on stage she had 'scorned woman energy.' With songs like Up All Night and Wreckage Of You taking pops at Ben, I think he should be running for cover when that album drops. RED CARPET RAIN A PAIN FOR EDITH AS a regular host of glitzy film premieres, Edith Bowman knows all about the ups and downs of a red carpet. But her very worst experience was at one of the biggest events in the showbiz calendar – the Bafta Film awards. 9 In an exclusive chat, Edith said: 'I was eight months pregnant and it was really wet. 'My dress was like a sponge. And so it had literally come up past my knees. 'My dress was kind of waterlogged. And I've got this massive, child-bearing belly in front of me. And so that was probably not the best look and not fun.' But she said one of her highlights in recent years was interviewing Joaquin Phoenix at the 2023 premiere of his film Napoleon – because he did so by accident. Edith recalled: 'We were told beforehand, 'He's not doing anything'. And then he came up not realising what he was coming into. So I was like, 'Nice to see you'. 'I was like, 'You were late the last time we chatted'. And he's like, 'What?'. 'I did a thing for Joker and he went to the loo and then he got lost, and then he came in late. 'So we just got into this really funny conversation, him going, 'I wasn't late, I'm never late!' kind of thing. 'And then he realised his voice was coming out of the speakers. And he was like, 'What am I doing here?'' lIT wasn't just Tom Cruise who headed to Wembley Stadium to catch Oasis in action. My pals spotted Dua Lipa in a VIP box with her fiance Callum Turner. 'Dua and Callum were going absolutely wild when Noel and Liam Gallagher came on,' my mate said. 'They were hanging out with Noel's daughter Anais. 'Jarvis Cocker was there too and looked like he was loving it.' BEYONCE took her fans back to where it all started on the final night of her Cowboy Carter world tour after reuniting with her Destiny's Child bandmates on stage. She bought out Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a medley of some of their best loved hits, including Bootylicious and Lose My Breath. 9 9 Kelly and Michelle even put on matching chaps when they got up on stage at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The duo also helped Bey with her 'mute challenge' much to the delight of the packed out crowd. Although Bey's 32-show tour may be over, the hard work isn't stopping here. She's now hard at work on her next album, which is understood to be called Betty Black, and has its roots in rock. The record's title is, we understand a bit to reclaim Ram Jam's 1977 song of the same name - which has been controversial in recent years due to its connection to a whip used on enslaved people in prisons. WEDDING bells can't be far away because Becky Hill spent the weekend in glamorous Lake Como on her hen do. The two-time Brit Award winner flew her nearest and dearest gal pals over to Italy for the celebration, which came off the back of a gig she played there on Friday night. It came a week after her fiance Charlie Gardner flew off on his stag do, which was attended by his close pal Gareth Gates. I'm told Gareth is a surprisingly close mate of Becky and her fella and will definitely be there when they tie the knot later this summer. Between touring and working on her next album, it's a wonder she's had time to plan a thing. The week in bizness WEDNESDAY: Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Billie Piper will be among the stars at the premiere of the second series of Netflix hit Wednesday in London. THURSDAY: Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis jet into London's Leicester Square for the UK premiere of Freakier Friday – 22 years after Freaky Friday hit screens. FRIDAY: US singer Renee Rapp will lead the new releases with her second album Bite Me, while Chappell Roan will drop her new single The Subway. SATURDAY: Mariah Carey, Sugababes, Will Young and Natalie Imbruglia perform at the UK's biggest Pride festival over two days in Brighton's Preston Park.

Meet Britain's loneliest dogs waiting 8 YEARS for forever homes – from house-trained Lulu to ‘real cuddle monster' Mika
BRITAIN'S loneliest dogs have been revealed, with some pooches waiting up to eight years to find their forever homes. Despite being "cuddle monsters" and "stealing the hearts" of animal shelter staff, many dogs are overlooked, and have to watch countless of their furry friends get adopted before them. 11 Many have been treated incredibly cruelly before being taken in to care, with the RSPCA receiving an average of 374 reports of cruelty against animals every single day during the busy summer period. If you're looking to add an extra member to your family, why not consider one of these adorable pooches. Barney Barney is a nine-year-old Crossbreed, who has been living at Dogs Trust Merseyside for 3,000 days (eight years). The lively, independent pooch is on the hunt for a forever family to provide a calm, rural environment for him. He would prefer a home without any other pets or children, and loves learning new skills and snuggling up with loved ones. Toby Also living at Dogs Trust Merseyside is 11-year-old lurcher Toby, who was handed over the the charity seven years ago due to his owner's ill health. The ageing pup is keen to find an adult-only retirement home, with access to a large field he can play off-lead in. Toby enjoys gentle fuss, playing with his toys, and likes to hang out on walks with other lurchers and greyhounds. Domino 11-year-old Lurcher Domino has been in the care of Dogs Trust Leeds for a whopping 2600 days (over seven years). The playful pooch was found by the charity as a stray, and has struggled to find his forever home, despite being a fun and affectionate Canine. Domino is fully house-trained and loves peaceful rural walks, and is looking for an adult-only home where he is the only pet. Liam and Noel Named after the iconic rock duo, tiny chihuahuas Liam and Noel have been living at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, for 150 days, four times longer than the average pooch stays at the shelter. The four-year-old cheeky chihuahuas need a private garden to play in, and could live in a family with older teenagers, who respect their space. 11 Hannah Gee, Rehoming Team Leader at Battersea Old Windsor, said: 'Since coming into the centre through no fault of their own, this supersonic pair really are inseparable, and some might say that they've stolen the hearts of everyone they meet. "Though they were both quite nervous when they first came into us, little by little they have started to come out of their shells and are now looking to complete their band line-up with loving new owners'. Sonny Jim Sonny Jim is an ex-racing greyhound, and has been living at Battersea Home for Dogs & Cats for 270 days. 11 The four-year-old pet can be shy at first, but his bouncy and affectionate personality soon shines through. Like most ex-racers, Sonny has a chase instinct, so he needs to be on a lead and muzzled when out and about, but he is very comfortable with this. Gina Crossbreed Gina was rescued by the RSCPA over 400 days ago, and has been in the care of the charity's Northumberland West Branch ever since. 11 When she was found, the five-year-old canine was living in a cage where she was unable to stand, and had very little experience of the outside world. The pooch has been adopted twice already, but was both times returned to the RSPCA due to separation anxiety, and is still on the hunt for a family to show her love and affection. Kevin When seven-year-old Cane Corso Kevin first arrived at RSPCA Southridge Animal Centre, he was incredibly thin and week, and he has been getting care and treatment for the past 700 days. 11 Anna White, an RSPCA staff member who looks after Kevin said: "Super sweet, super playful, and super cuddly. Kevin is our gorgeous sweetheart who just wants love and attention. "He is a big boy and doesn't understand how strong he can be, gentle but a giant, and can be strong on the lead so his new owner will need to be able to hold him well.' Lulu Eight-year-old crossbreed Lulu was rescued by the RSPCA as part of an investigation, and has spent more than a year in total being cared for by the charity's Cornwall Branch. 11 The adorable pooch is house-trained, travels well in the car, and is happy to be left alone for a few hours. She would love a forever home with a secure garden, and with careful management, can be introduced to other dogs. Princess German Shepherd cross lab Princess arrived at RSPCA Gonsal Farm Animal Centre with a broken leg, after her owner was unable to afford treatment. 11 The two-year-old has since had surgery, and has been looking for an adult-only forever home since February. Despite being described by RSPCA staff as an "absolute joy" and "highly intelligent", she has so far been overlooked, and has watched countless furry friends get rehomed before her. Mika Mika was rescued by RSPCA Brent Knoll Animal Centre, before her owner was investigated and prosecuted. The five-year-old Akita, who has been searching for a home for more than a year, would need to be the only animal, and would be suitable to live with children of secondary school age. Katy Darelli, Animal Centre Manager, said: 'She is a big, strong, powerful girl but she is a real cuddle monster. She really does love people. 'She has watched so many of her furry friends find their perfect match before her - and we just don't want to see her spend one day longer than he needs to in kennels.
