Here's why Puka Nacua was excused from Rams' first OTA for a 'pretty cool opportunity'
Here's why Puka Nacua was excused from Rams' first OTA for a 'pretty cool opportunity' Nacua had a trip planned with his mom months ago, so he was excused from Day 1 of OTAs
Puka Nacua was absent from the Los Angeles Rams' first day of OTAs on Wednesday, but it's not anything that caught the team off guard. In fact, Sean McVay knew for months that Nacua wouldn't be able to attend the start of OTAs.
After the team's first practice on Wednesday, McVay shed some light on the reason for Nacua's excused absence. He said the receiver had a 'pretty cool opportunity' to travel with his mom, which Nacua has shared photos and videos of on his Instagram story recently.
Nacua was getting back on Wednesday, which is why he missed practice, but he'll be participating in everything moving forward.
'Oh yeah, this was months ago,' McVay said. 'He's traveling with his family, pretty cool opportunity. Got to be able to go travel with his mom. He was getting back today. He'll be here so he's done a great job of communicating a couple months ago.'
One of the places Nacua posted on Instagram during his travels was Samoa, which is a special place for him being of Samoan descent. Though he grew up in Provo, Utah, he's proud of his Polynesian heritage so traveling back to where his family is from was likely incredible for him and his mom.
Now that he's back in Los Angeles, expect to see Nacua on the field with his teammates again.

Tyrese Haliburton's girlfriend trolls Knicks with savage post after playoff ouster
Tyrese Haliburton's girlfriend sent a savage farewell message to the Knicks after their loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday. Jade Jones, who trolled the Knicks throughout the series, did just that by quoting lyrics to their anthem, 'Go NY Go,' which is played during Knicks home games at Madison Square Garden. 'Go NY go NY go… Home!!!' Jones wrote Sunday on Instagram, adding the hashtag, '#YESCERSSS. Advertisement 'So proud of this team!!! 💛💛💛.' Jones included a meme of the Statue of Liberty in a Haliburton Pacers jersey — and a snapshot of the two-time All-Star making a choke gesture during Indiana's overtime victory in Game 1. Stefon Diggs and Cardi B are now Instagram 'official'
Stefon Diggs and Cardi B are now Instagram 'official' Through all the controversy as of late involving Stefon Diggs, at least we know one thing for sure: the New England Patriots wide receiver and rapper Cardi B are now Instagram official. A video of Diggs went viral last week during Memorial Day weekend that showed the wideout surrounded by women and the veteran NFL star with a bag with an unknown pink substance. We wondered where Cardi B was given that we saw the receiver and rapper together at a New York Knicks game. But it turned out there was video of her on the boat as well. The pair haven't addressed the video in recent social media posts, but Cardi B did post some photos of her and Diggs together (WARNING: IF YOU SCROLL THROUGH, THERE'S SOME NSFW VIDEO IN THERE): If it was unofficial before, it's official now. And here are those aforementioned photos of Diggs and Cardi B from the Knicks game: Will Stefon Diggs be cut by the Patriots after the video emerged? There's no official word on that at the moment, just a whole bunch of speculation that the franchise could frown upon what everyone saw in the boat video. We'll see. For now, it seems like Diggs is hard at work at his recovery from a torn ACL that he suffered while with the Houston Texans last season. He hasn't been fully cleared for football activities yet.

Man Utd criticised by legend after post-season tour incidents
Beckham Calls Out Man Utd Stars as Respect Erodes Abroad There is a tone David Beckham uses when he's really disappointed. It's not angry, not confrontational, but calmly pointed. You can almost hear the dismay soaking into the words. And this time, it's Manchester United, his old stomping ground, taking the heat. Not for their tactics, not for their finishing, but for something more profound: their apparent disregard for the badge. Tour De Farce As the latest post-season tour dragged across Malaysia and Hong Kong like a parade of missed opportunities, the headlines weren't about goals or goodwill. They were about middle fingers and mutiny. Photo IMAGO greeting fans with a raised finger. Garnacho, arms bristling with frustration, caught on camera shoving a supporter. Then the Instagram post — 'finally' — as if the whole thing had been an obligation rather than an honour. Photo: IMAGO In the background of all this, Ruben Amorim tries to forge a new era, battling his own firestorm of unrest. Garnacho, once the crown prince of promise, now finds himself allegedly on the verge of exile after throwing a tantrum over being benched for the Europa League final. And this, in Beckham's eyes, is the problem. Values Forgotten 'I don't like seeing what's happening at the club,' Beckham told CBS Sports. 'It's true that it's the pitch that matters, but I see a lot of things that are not acceptable to me as a fan and a lover of Manchester United.' Advertisement You don't need a PR team to read between the lines. Beckham doesn't just mean these players are out of line — he means they're out of touch. 'We understood what it meant to play for Manchester United,' he continued. 'We understood what the badge meant… You have to respect that.' Icons and Expectations Beckham, of course, played in an age where the club's image was as choreographed as their midfield. There were strops then too, but the standards were non-negotiable. You respected the fans, you respected the tour, and above all, you respected the club. Now? Now the rules seem optional.
