1 2 Patna/New Delhi: Even as the Election Commission of India (ECI) claimed on Saturday that not a single claim or objection had been filed within the first 24 hours of publishing Bihar's draft electoral rolls, the CPI(ML) claimed it had submitted an objection letter via email regarding names of living voters being listed as dead. The ECI had released the draft rolls on Friday and issued its first daily status update on Saturday. While the EC maintained that none of the 1.6 lakh booth-level agents (BLAs) deployed by a dozen political parties filed any official objections by 3pm on Aug 2, CPI(ML) state secretary Kunal alleged irregularities in the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise. He submitted proof of two such voters — Kudrat Khan and Shailesh Prasad — from Bhore assembly constituency, whose names, he claimed, had been wrongly included in the list of deceased voters. "At booth number 339, Sisai village, the names of people who are alive have been declared dead. Meanwhile, five names earlier listed as dead at booth number 317 have now been re-included, but two remain missing," Kunal said. He demanded assembly-wise and booth-wise details of the 65,64,075 voters deleted in the first phase of the SIR.
