Coldplay's Chris Martin Bounces Back From Astronomer Kiss-Cam Scandal With Sweet Serenade of Soccer Legend Lionel Messi & Wife
As fans started chanting 'Messi! Messi!' for the Inter Miami FC football star, singer Chris Martin busted out a spontaneous musical homage to the hometown hero, crooning, 'Well, Lio, my beautiful brother/ You and your wife are looking so fine/ Thanks for coming today to see our band play/ The No. 1 sportsperson of all time.'

The happy smile and wave was a world away from Byron's reaction at the July 16 show at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. In that now-infamous clip, the CEO was seen embracing the tech company's now-former HR officer, with both of them quickly ducking out of frame to avoid the cameras once they realized they'd been kiss-cam'd. 'Whoa, look at these two. All right, come on. You're OK. Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy. I'm not quite sure what to do,' Martin joked at the time.
In addition to becoming an instant, inescapable global meme and cautionary tale, the incident has also inspired an quick turn-around online novella, Caught on the Jumbotron. According to a description of the instant book uploaded to online reading app Galatea, 'When Ellie discovers her husband — tech CEO Derek Brighton — locked in a scandalous embrace with his head of HR live on the Jumbotron at a Goldray concert, her world implodes. Heartbroken, Ellie walks away from the betrayal—and straight into the spotlight. Enter Leo Voss, the undeniably sexy, tattooed lead singer of Goldray.'
The story then follows a backstage encounter that blows up into an 'whirlwind romance' between the 'leather-clad rock god' and his new muse. 'Together they're unstoppable. But as Ellie rediscovers her voice, the media frenzy surrounding her reaches a fever pitch,' it reads. 'Then Leo's ex-wife re-appears, and Ellie must risk another public heartbreak. The last thing she needs is to make her life messier. Will she choose a love that doesn't play by the rules?'
After wrapping up the latest North American leg of the three-year tour, Coldplay's record-setting Music of the Sphere's world outing will reboot in mid-August with yet another run of shows in their native U.K., including a 10-night final run at London's Wembley Stadium.

Queer Jams of the Week: New Music From Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, Demi Lovato & More
In need of some new tunes from your favorite queer artists? We've got you covered. Billboard Pride is proud to present the latest edition of Queer Jams of the Week, our roundup of some of the best new music releases from LGBTQ+ artists. From Chappell Roan's long-awaited new(ish) ballad to Reneé Rapp's rowdy new album, check out just a few of our favorite releases from this week below: More from Billboard Best Festival Gear: What to Buy for Lollapalooza & Other Concerts This Summer WWE SummerSlam 2025: How to Watch the Two-Night Pro Wrestling Event Live Online Wrangler Goes All-Terrain With Latest Apparel Collection Backed by Country Star Tucker Wetmore Chappell Roan, 'The Subway' After more than a year of patience from fans, Chappell Roan is finally ready to offer them a ride on 'The Subway.' The plaintive ballad paints a vivid picture of Roan mid-heartbreak, as she recounts the mundane tale of seeing an ex on the train and going into a full-blown spiral of Big Feelings™. It's easy to see why fans have wanted a full studio version of the song — the dreamy guitars end up pairing perfectly with Roan's ethereal vocal, as she pines for the day her former flame becomes 'just another girl on the subway.' Reneé Rapp, Bite Me Reneé Rapp is ready for a switch-up. Where her excellent 2023 album Snow Angel saw the singer getting vulnerable about the hard realities surrounding her, Bite Me, her raucous new album, sees her disengaging from the hardships and opting to have fun instead. Over pop, rock, and R&B-tinged tracks, Rapp revels in sex ('Kiss It, Kiss It'), parties ('Good Girl'), and petty breakups ('That's So Funny'), all while giving some of her best vocal performances to date. The pathos and angst from Snow Angel is still present throughout, but as Rapp herself sings in the back half of the album: 'If I can't be happy, then at least I'm hot.' Demi Lovato, 'Fast' Everyone, please welcome back Demi Lovato, Pop Star. After zigging and zagging into adult contemporary and hard rock on her last few albums, the singer steps firmly back into the pop space with 'Fast,' their new dance-fueled banger. Plinking synths litter the background of the new track, alongside a beat that slowly ratchets up until bursting into an electric symphony on the chorus. But as usual, the standout on 'Fast' is Lovato's inimitable voice, as she flexes the power and versatility of her own instrument throughout this delirious new single. Slayyyter, 'Beat Up Chanel$' If Lovato's new song hasn't quite slaked your need for a high-octane new club track, then Slayyyter's should get the job done. Over a crunchy industrial beat, Slayyyter works her way through a nightlife scene packed with 'sex, money, drugs, chains on my chest, vintage Celine' and just about everything else you can hope to encounter. But she's not interested in the opulence of the scene, as suggested in both the lyrics and grimy production — Slayyyter's on a mission to find the filthy underbelly of the club. And with a track like 'Beat Up Chanel$,' she's sure to find it. Debby Friday, The Starrr of the Queen of Life After spending much of her career sowing chaos into dance tracks, Debby Friday is having an introspective moment. The Starrr of the Queen of Life finds the underground dance star still firmly situated in the club, but this time she's ready to tackle some more existential questions about her personal life ('Alberta') and about life itself ('Arcadia'), all while still providing some of her most fascinating production to date. Adam Lambert, 'Heaven on Their Minds' (Jesus Christ Superstar cover) Leave it to Adam Lambert to make a 55-year-old rock opera song sound new and vital again. Ahead of his performance this weekend in the Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar alongside Cynthia Erivo, Lambert shared his rendition of the show's opening number 'Heaven on Their Minds,' letting his stratospheric voice go as far as it can. You can also hear his acting in the role of Judas throughout, as the performer brings a sense of desperation and panic to this rollicking new rendition. Zach Bryan's New Single Launches Inside The Top 10 On Multiple Charts
Zach Bryan has released more than half a dozen singles in 2025 alone, and it's not yet clear how many of them will be included on his upcoming project. What is apparent is that his latest single, "Madeline,' a duet with relatively unknown musician Gabriella Rose, is another quick smash for the singer-songwriter, one that returns him to the highest tiers on several Billboard rankings. 'Madeline' Opens Inside the Top 10 "Madeline" launches on more than half a dozen tallies in the United States this week. The tune opens inside the top 10 on three of them, thanks primarily to its quick popularity on streaming platforms. Bryan's duet with Rose opens highest, at No. 8, on the Hot Rock Songs chart. It comes in just one spot beneath that slot on the Rock Streaming Songs list, and at No. 10 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally. A Milestone New Smash Bryan earns his milestone thirtieth top 10 hit on the Hot Rock Songs chart as "Madeline" debuts. He only needs one more win within the same region on the Rock Streaming Songs list to reach the same landmark there as well. Meanwhile, the newly-shared collaboration marks his twenty-sixth top 10 smash on Billboard's ranking of the most consumed rock and alternative tracks in the nation. Zach Bryan's Many, Many Rock Hits When looking at his total number of placements on these three lists, there's a greater variation when compared to his top 10 successes. Bryan has now scored 47 hits on the Rock Streaming Songs ranking, while he's up to 80 on the Hot Rock Songs list, and two more on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally. Zach Bryan Almost Reaches the Country Top 10 "Madeline" comes close to the top 10 on a trio of country rankings, but doesn't perform quite as well as it does on the rock-leaning charts. The track misses the highest tier on the Hot Country Songs, Country Streaming Songs, and Country Digital Song Sales lists by just a few spaces. The tune also opens at No. 62 on the Hot 100, where Bryan is quickly approaching 50 placements. With Heaven on Top It appears that "Madeline" will be included on With Heaven on Top, Bryan's forthcoming project. Originally marketed as an EP, it now appears the singer-songwriter and Grammy winner may turn it into a full-length effort. At the moment, With Heaven on Top is scheduled to be released on January 9, 2026.
