Harry Richardson and Louisa Jacobson The Gilded Age
HBO's beloved period drama The Gilded Age returned for its highly anticipated third season on June 22. With more romance, shifting power dynamics between the old guard and the nouveau riche and plenty of dramatic twists, there's a lot to look forward to on Sunday nights this summer.
In Season 3 of The Gilded Age, 'the old guard is weakened and the Russells stand poised to take their place at the head of society," according to the logline. 'Bertha sets her sights on a prize that would elevate the family to unimaginable heights while George risks everything on a gambit that could revolutionize the railroad industry — if it doesn't ruin him first.'
Meanwhile, across the street at the Brook household, chaos erupts after Agnes refuses to accept Ada's new position as lady of the house. 'Peggy meets a handsome doctor from Newport whose family is less than enthusiastic about her career. As all of New York hastens toward the future, their ambition may come at the cost of what they truly hold dear,' the synopsis continues.
Series regulars Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Morgan Spector, and Carrie Coon are back for the next chapter. Meanwhile, newcomers will be played by Jordan Donica, Andrea Martin, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Hattie Morahan, Leslie Uggams, Merritt Wever, Bill Camp and Phylicia Rashad.
Jacobson, who portrays Marian Brook, told People in February 2025 to expect 'a lot of plot twists' in Season 3. 'It's gonna keep you on your toes,' the actress teased.
That sentiment was echoed by Coon (a.k.a. Bertha Russell), who told the magazine in August that she was 'really shocked by a couple of the twists we have coming. So that was thrilling." She continued, "They keep surprising me. I haven't even seen all the scripts yet, so I am eager to be surprised."
As for its critical reception,Variety's TV critic Alison Herman called the third installment 'the best season yet,' adding that it 'recalibrates The Gilded Age into a show that's more dramatic in some areas and more lighthearted in others than it's been in the past.'

'You have as much idea as we do, that I will say,' he said, according to Decider. 'I always love it though, as I was saying yesterday, you always ask these questions, knowing you're not going to get a decent answer. And I never really quite understand why, unless it's just the fun of us saying we're not going tell you! But we don't know either at the moment.'
Actress Denée Benton then pleaded with the reporters in the room and mouthed, 'Please watch and help us," the site reported. Stay tuned for updates.

55 Thoughts I Had While Watching ‘The Gilded Age' Season 3 Premiere

All right, I confess; I didn't keep up religiously with Season 2 of The Gilded Age—maybe because I was getting my Cynthia Nixon fix from And Just Like That… and my Carrie Coon fix from The White Lotus (and my Christine Baranski fix from obsessively rewatching Mamma Mia!, but I digress). Now, though, the HBO show is back for its third season, and I am absolutely locked in, even if I'm having a little trouble remembering some of the characters' names and/or general deals. Let's dive in, shall we? Horse-drawn carriages! Mr. Russell's beard is so on-point. Ah, the picturesque majesty of snow in New York, before it turns to slush and gets completely disgusting. Would be nice right about now! 'We've had some changes.' I'll say! Time for Cynthia Nixon's temperance meeting! Yes, Christine Baranski! Call it 'absurd'! Get her ass! Christine and Cynthia are really showcasing the range of bangs types here (straight vs. curly). Oh, hell yeah, 'Mr. Sargent' is coming by to paint! This is like when they casually reference Picasso in Titanic. Taissa Farmiga's little fur capelet is fabulous. No offense, The Gilded Age props/set design team, but this snow looks fake as hell. There's our girl Louisa Jacobson! In powder blue, no less! New York used to be so pretty before we, as a culture, ruined it. Miners' strike? There is power in a union, baby! 'I prefer to pick them off one by one.' Likely thing for a union-busting boss to say! It's weird that some people on this show are doing Little Period Voices and some aren't. Obsessed with Mr. Sargent's naughty little smock. Portrait of Madame X shoutout! One of the all-time art-historical babes! Yay, Denée Benton's novel is getting published! I need a supercut of just Cynthia and Christine fighting. 'Those who partake in alcohol are destined to the fury of hell.' Welp! God, Louisa's looking blonde as hell. OMG, this corset top over a turtleneck? Go off, Gladys. Ugh, Aurora, I hate your husband. You should, too! She's exactly right in not granting him a divorce, IMO. Was the word 'shady' being used in this context back then? 'I never thought I would be glad to have no children.' It happens! 'If you want to marry me and I want to marry you, we're already engaged.' Well, not exactly, bro. Where's the ring? Hot lemon and honey sounds so good right now. Cynthia dropping the hammer on her lodger! I love it. LMAO at Christine saying that the 'Female Normal and High School' sounds like a mistranslation. Aw, I love this brother-sister chat moment. Kind of weird that it's in Gladys's bed, but I guess they didn't have that many places to hang out? In…their mansion? I'm obsessed with the various and sundry robes of The Gilded Age. See, Denée and Louisa hanging out in a bedroom I can totally get behind. (Not in a gay way! Just in a gal-pals-at-a-sleepover way!) Oh no, someone's snitching on Gladys! 'In this house, nothing is accepted that isn't proposed by Mrs. Russell.' Tea. These boots Adelheid is lacing are sort of…gorgeous? Man, talk about laying down the law. 'In America, you don't have to live like your parents lived.' In theory, sure. Never has a man looked so sad in a bowler hat. Oh no, Denée definitely isn't feeling better! Was consumption still a thing during this time period? Man, I really should have studied for, like, any of my history classes throughout my 16 years of education. Jesus, the doctor's too racist to treat Denée? Even with all of these women's money? 'What I feel for Billy is real.' Sure. 'I'm not a girl! Not anymore! When will you see that?' What an ideal time for a Britney needle drop. Damn, Carrie calling Billy a 'worthless nonentity' goes crazy hard. I need to interview the horse actors on this show. And with that…it's a wrap on Episode 1 of Season 3! Welcome back, my little women!

Anthony Ramos Drops New Bombshell About His Missing 'Hamilton' Solo at Tony Awards originally appeared on Parade. The mystery surrounding Anthony Ramos' missing solo during Hamilton's 10-year reunion at the Tony Awards just got even more intriguing. As the original cast came together for the highly anticipated performance, fans couldn't help but notice Ramos appeared to be sidelined. Now, the actor is setting the record straight, dropping a bombshell revelation about the behind-the-scenes drama during a chat with Andy Cohen. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen addressed fan backlash over Anthony Ramos' absence during the Hamilton cast reunion. Cohen told Ramos that viewers were 'pissed' he seemed to be left out of the performance, and the actor's response was nothing short of surprising. "That was really nice that people got pissed," Ramos joked. He then dropped a new bombshell about his participation that could have changed the performance entirely. "There was a solo moment [for me] in that whole sequence," the actor, who played John Laurens/Philip in the original Broadway cast. But I didn't say 'yes' to the Tonys until Saturday morning [the show aired on Sunday, June 8]." "I texted Lin [Manuel-Miranda] Saturday saying, 'Yo, is it too late to join you all?' He answered, 'Are you serious? You got a black suit?'" "They fit me in where I could fit in. There was a moment for me, but they had to take it out because they weren't planning on me being there," he concluded. Cohen wrapped up his remarks by asking Ramos, "Was it fun doing that number?" He responded, "Yes. Ten years later, just seeing everybody on stage looking amazing." Ramos joined Lin-Manuel Miranda, Carleigh Bettiol, Andrew Chappelle, Ariana DeBose, Alysha Deslorieux, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Sydney James Harcourt, Neil Haskell, and Sasha Hutchings on stage for the performance. Barbra Streisand Is Still ‘P***ed Off' Over ‘Fockers' Salary: ‘They'd Have to Pay Me a Lot of Money' to Do ‘Meet the Parents 4'

Barbra Streisand still gives a 'fock' about her 'Meet the Fockers' salary. The EGOT winner, who appears in 'Meet the Parents' franchise installments 'Meet the Fockers' (2004) and 'Little Fockers' (2010), told Variety that she was 'pissed off' by the salary discrepancies across the ensemble cast. Streisand played Ben Stiller's onscreen mother Roz, with Dustin Hoffman as her husband. The duo were the in-law foils to Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner, the parents of Stiller's wife (Teri Polo). A fourth 'Meet the Parents' film was announced earlier this year, with Stiller, De Niro, Danner, Polo, and Owen Wilson (who starred as Polo's ex) reprising their roles. However, don't bet on Streisand's return. More from IndieWire Adam Scott Tried to Emulate Ethan Hawke in Auditions 'for Years' 'Splitsville' Trailer: Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjona Try Open Marriages in Cannes Comedy 'They'd have to pay me a lot of money because I didn't get paid what the other people got paid and so I'm pissed off,' the icon said while promoting her album, 'The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two.' She added, 'I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men. The head of Universal was Ron Meyer at the time, and he actually sent me a bonus check. It was very sweet.' Yet Streisand is still working parallel to the 'Meet the Parents' universe: The singer collaborates with 'Meet the Parents 4' actress Ariana Grande for the song 'One Heart, One Voice' off the new album. Streisand said that Grande has one of the 'hottest, biggest, most wonderful voices' in the industry. Grande is set for an undisclosed role in the fourth 'Meet the Parents' film, which will be released November 25, 2026. John Hamburg, the co-writer of the first three 'Meet the Parents' films, writes and directs the fourth. As for her other possible acting roles, Streisand stayed mum. 'I get a lot of offers, but they're funny offers. Well, one was good. It was something that Peter Bogdanovich was going to do, and Guillermo del Toro sent it to me, I think. It's a subject that I actually love, but I'm not going to tell you,' she said. 'I always wanted to end my career, my movie career doing 'Gypsy.' That would've been the book end to my 'Funny Girl' play. I couldn't get that done. Time goes so fast.' Streisand is currently in production on a multi-part documentary about her life, with Frank Marshall directing and Alex Gibney producing. Streisand herself, though, isn't looking to direct anytime soon. 'I'm not ready to direct again,' the 'Yentl' filmmaker said. 'I think I've probably had it.'
