Act fast! The Nectar Classic Mattress is now only $297 in huge Prime Day rival sale

Tom's Guide08-07-2025
I track mattress sales and while, yes, it's Prime Day, the bed deal that's made me sit up and take notice isn't found on Amazon — it's an extra 15% off the Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress at Nectar, reducing a queen to $552.
I've been hands-on with the Nectar Classic and consider it among the best mattresses for all sleep styles. I prioritize support in a mattress and the dense foams of the Nectar Classic made me feel lifted from head-to-toe.
But this is still a foam mattress and the Nectar Classic has a touch of that body-hugging feel you expect from memory foam. It's cozy, if not soft.
With all that said, there are some impressive price drops among the best Amazon Prime Day mattress deals — especially if you're on a tight budget. Still, it's the Nectar price drop I'll be dreaming of tonight.
Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress: twin was $349 now $297 at NectarA close contender for our favorite memory foam mattress, the Nectar Classic is an affordable all-foam bed that delivers full-body support without breaking the bank. It doesn't have the sink-in feel of a softer memory foam (upgrade to the Nectar Premier Memory Foam mattress for that) but the dense support and light contouring will please most side sleepers and back sleepers. We awarded the Classic full marks for motion isolation — the dense foams simply eat up movement — and as the medium-firm feel appealed across the diverse testing panel of our Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress review, we think it's one of the best mattresses for couples. The Nectar surprise flash sale is a better than Black Friday price, reducing a queen to just $552 (normally sold for $649) and you get a 365-night trial plus a lifetime warranty.

Nectar mattress sales have a reputation for being predictable. Part of my job is tracking mattress deals and I see the same Nectar prices month after month (that's not a complaint — the deals are good and I prefer value for money over surprises.)
After a quiet Black Friday and an even quieter Memorial Day — two of the biggest mattress sales events — I didn't expect Nectar to drop a mattress discount for Prime Day.
But this extra 15% off sale knocks the Nectar Classic down to the best price I've seen all year and beats the pre-Black Friday flash sale that impressed me in November.
I've been hands-on with the Nectar Classic Memory Foam and even at its usual price of $649 for a queen, this mattress is value for money.
The thick foams feel high quality and deliver plenty of support to the spine and shoulders, with just enough give to relieve pressure at the shoulder and hips.
So while I might not be able to predict Nectar sales as well as I thought I could, I still think you should take advantage of this deal — I don't think it will stick around for long.
Siena Memory Foam Mattress: twin was $199 now $149 at NectarFrom the same parent company as the Nectar Classic (Resident Home), the inexpensive Siena has a firm feel that best suits stomach sleepers and back sleepers. The support stood out in our Siena Memory Foam Mattress review — even the edge support, which is often weak in an all-foam bed — but the lack of cushioning means this mattress is too firm for most side sleepers. Amazon Prime members can pick up a queen size Siena for just $278, matching the lowest price we've seen this year and beating the Black Friday deal. You'll also get a 180-night trial and 10-year warranty.

Cramer: Amazon's deeper push into grocery creates a 'new narrative' for the company

CNBC's Jim Cramer said Thursday that Amazon 's deeper push into the grocery business is creating a "new narrative" for the company as it threatens to disrupt incumbents like Walmart . Amazon announced Wednesday that Prime members in more than 1,000 cities and towns can now get free same-day delivery on fresh groceries for orders over $25. The e-commerce and cloud giant plans to more than double that reach by year-end, with further expansion slated for 2026. Cramer called it the "Amazon factor" — suggesting the company's new push into same-day delivery of produce, dairy, and frozen food alongside household items helps solidify it as the ultimate one-stop shop for consumers. "You're going to get your food. You're going to get your drugs. It's going to come to your house," he said. "It's a whole new world and Amazon's got it." Wednesday's move, billed by Amazon as "one of the most significant grocery expansions" in its history, is seen by the market as a material escalation in the online grocery battle. Amazon stock advanced 1.4% on the announcement and was up another 1.9% on Thursday. Shares of Walmart and Target , which use their physical stores to service online orders of fresh groceries, were under pressure for a second straight session on Thursday. Delivery competitors fared much worse. Instacart and DoorDash were both down big again Thursday after sinking 11.5% and 3.8%, respectively, on Wednesday. Club stock Costco also faltered Wednesday but was steadier Thursday. Cramer said Wednesday Costco should never have been down on the Amazon news because the retailer is not in the same business. Costco is a "price business, a volume business," he said. Amazon has been able to expand its grocery offering because it keeps making same-day delivery more efficient. It has "reduced the average distance packages travel by 12% and lowered handling touches per unit by nearly 15%," said Amazon CEO Andy Jassy during the company's post-earnings conference call on July 31. Jassy cited strategic positioning of the company's fulfillment centers and the ability to send more items in each order, which resulted in fewer packages. "These improvements are making the network faster and structurally more efficient," the CEO added. That delivery speed has been driving customers to buy everyday items like cleaning supplies, vitamins, and personal care products online instead of making the trip to the grocery store. Last quarter, Everyday Essentials' growth outpaced the rest of the business globally and represented one out of every three units sold. By leveraging its large and loyal Prime customer base and increasingly efficient delivery speeds, it wouldn't be surprising if Amazon takes market share from top grocery players. At the same time, though, the impact across the industry may take time to unfold. We continue to maintain our buy-equivalent 1 rating on Amazon shares and a $250 price target. Amazon expands same-day delivery of perishables in big grocery push

Amazon has expanded same-day delivery for fresh groceries to more than 1,000 cities and towns, with plans to again expand the service offering to over 2,300 areas across the United States by year-end, the retailer announced Wednesday. The spread of temperature-controlled last-mile delivery means Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has perfected its system for efficiency across a wider footprint and will help it compete with other retailers that offer fresh grocery delivery, according to analysts. Prime members with access to fresh delivery will have the option to order produce, dairy, meat, seafood, baked goods, and frozen foods, alongside the millions of items such as everyday household essentials, electronics, fashion, home and garden, and more already available for same-day delivery on Amazon protects perishable goods with refrigerated rooms in its warehouses and insulated bags during delivery. Early adoption of same-day delivery for perishable groceries like bananas and ice cream in regions like Phoenix; Orlando, Florida; and Kansas City, Missouri, proved its popularity and prompted Amazon to offer the service in more places. Amazon says many customers who buy perishables shop twice as often with same-day delivery service compared to those who don't purchase fresh food. Among the cities with new same-day grocery delivery are Raleigh, North Carolina; Milwaukee; Tampa, Florida; and Columbus, Ohio. For Prime members, same-day delivery is free for orders over $25 in most cities. If an order doesn't meet the minimum, members can still choose same-day delivery for a $2.99 fee. For customers without a Prime membership, the service is available with a $12.99 fee, regardless of order size. 'We're continuously innovating to make grocery shopping simpler, faster, and more affordable for our customers, especially Prime members,' said Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, in a news release. 'By introducing fresh groceries into our Same-Day Delivery service, we're creating a quick and easy experience for customers. They can order milk alongside electronics; oranges, apples, and potatoes with a mystery novel; and frozen pizza at the same time as tools for their next home improvement project — and check out with one cart and have everything delivered to their doorstep within hours.' The popularity of online grocery delivery is spurring customers to turn more often to Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market for in-store needs, Amazon said. Amazon generated over $100 billion in gross sales of groceries and household essentials in 2024, not including sales from Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh. Bank of America said Amazon's push into fresh grocery suggests that Amazon has improved its grocery delivery model to the point where it is ready to deploy fresh delivery at scale without harming profit margins. Amazon perishables delivery poses a potential long-term competitive risk to Instacart, analyst Juston Post said in a client note. Online penetration of the $941 billion grocery market is only 13.4% of total spending, according to research from Incisiv. Bank of America estimates there is a $90 billion revenue opportunity in grocery delivery. 'Fresh fresh grocery has been a significant missing piece in Amazon's offering vs. competitors, such as Walmart and Target. With better grocery capabilities, Amazon should see important customer frequency benefits and potential lock-in with weekly grocery shopping not achievable in other verticals. We expect Amazon to refine and improve its grocery selection over time,' Post said. Click here for more FreightWaves/American Shipper stories by Eric Kulisch.
