2026 Porsche 911 Carrera Now Costs More Than a Loaded Corvette Z06
Porsche released pricing for the 2026 , with the cost of the entry Carrera model rising by nearly $8000.
The new model year Carrera starts at $129,950, but at least the increased fare now includes a leather package that previously cost $2840.
With the White House announcing earlier this week, it's unclear if the 911's price is done climbing.
Until the C8-generation Chevy Corvette ZR1 shows up later this year and takes the crown, the title of the "ultimate Corvette" belongs to the Z06. It's got a 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 that makes 670 horsepower, it launches from zero to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, and you can go pick up a loaded 3LZ coupe model right now for $127,345. Or, for $129,950, you can go buy the 2026 Porsche 911 Carrera.
Porsche's online configurator has been updated to include pricing for the 2026 911 lineup, and the base Carrera's price has jumped by $7855 compared with 2025. Minus the most recently revealed 992.2 models, which only increased slightly, pricing for the rest of the 911 saw similarly large increases.
Starting prices for each model in lineup are now as follows:

If you're expecting major changes for all that extra cash, you'll be sorely disappointed. Porsche announced earlier this week that 2026 911 models are getting an updated infotainment system that adds support for a range of third-party apps. There were also a number of changes to the leather options for the Carrera, and Porsche now preps the roof for roof racks out of the box. There are also several new Paint to Sample colors, as well as new color and decal combinations for the Carrera T and GT3.
There's also a chance that the new tariffs on all imported cars will result in Porsche's raising the cost of the 911 again. Car and Driver reached out to Porsche to ask if these price increases are related to the tariffs or just a result of the model year change. We also asked if customers with orders in right now will be price-protected or if they'll have to pay a higher amount once the tariffs go into effect. We will update this story when we hear back.

This 2007 Porsche Cayman S on Bring a Trailer Could Bring 911 Money
This early Cayman S has low mileage and lots of options. It's got a six-speed manual but also plenty of luxury items. Tasteful aftermarket touches are the icing on this mid-engine cake. In 2005, Porsche decided it would be a good idea to put a lid on the Boxster, and created a simply delightful little sports car in the process: the Cayman. The Boxster was already great, and turning it into a mid-engine coupe freed up some surprising liftback practicality and arguably added a little more style. Certainly such is the case if you pick the right paint color and options, and that's just what we have here. Bring a Trailer This 2007 Cayman S had virtually every box ticked, and it's up for auction on Bring a Trailer (which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos). It's a six-speed manual, and it's finished in sumptuous Forest Green over a tan interior filled with tasteful wood veneer. It has the fairly rare option of Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM), not something you'd be surprised to find in a 911 Carrera S, but unusual for a Cayman. With just 26K miles on the odometer, it's seen light use and appears to be in superior condition. Bring a Trailer In 2007, this car stickered for more than $80,000, or about $125K today. Fully one-quarter of that price was in optional extras, from the Sport Chrono dash-mounted stopwatch to automatic climate control, to navigation, to leather sun visors. The 18-inch wheels are from Gold Motorsport, and they are the crowning touch on a very elegant little sport coupe. Factory wheels are included in the sale. Bring a Trailer When new, the 3.4-liter flat-six was good for 295 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque. Porsche always made sure the 911 put out better numbers, but for mid-engine balance a Cayman offers a wonderful experience. Having a proper clutch pedal and stick shift just makes it that much more rewarding, and PASM adds a little behind-the-scenes magic to the handling. Bring a Trailer The Boxster and the Cayman still live in the 911's shadow somewhat, but the right one can be just as fantastic as its big brother. The original owner of this example dug deep to get the specifications just right, and got all the details perfect—and bidders have responded enthusiastically. The auction ends on June 6. Drivers compete in the 'Monaco of hill climbing'
Motorsports fans have gathered in Worcestershire to watch races described by organisers as like "Formula 1 up a country lane". The 120th British Hill Climb Championships at Shelsley Walsh, held on Saturday and Sunday, is billed as Europe's "fastest and most spectacular" speed hill climb. The track, near Stourport-on-Severn, claims to be the oldest motorsports venue in the world still staging events on its original course. Encompassing a steep hill with a 329ft (99m) rise, generations of racers have taken on the course since it opened in 1905. More than 200 cars took to the hill over the weekend to compete, some racing at speeds of about 150mph (241km/h) around the 1,000 yd (914m) track. Alex Summers, from Tenbury Wells, the fourth generation of his family to race the course, described it as "hallowed ground". "Some people refer to it as the Monaco of hill climbing," he said. "It's the sensation of speed and it's the fact that Shelsley's a natural amphitheatre, so you've got the ability to see almost the entire hill, pretty much wherever you are." Supporting from the paddocks, his mum Lindsay, who started racing 15 years ago, hit speeds of 143mph (230km/h) on her practice round. She said: "You just get to an age I think, as a woman, where you stop caring what people think and you just [say] 'I'm going to do it, I'm going to have some fun'." After lugging wheels up the track, she described the sport as "definitely not glamorous but a lot of fun". Porsche also put a prototype electric SUV, brought over from Germany and named Cayenne, through its paces on the track and a spokesperson said it was "very fast". Events started at 09:00 BST, with the fastest cars competing in the top 12 run offs. Course record holder Sean Gould was attempting to better his fastest time of 22.37 seconds in a 410kg single-seater, smaller-scale Formula 1-style car .
