Justin Bieber's ‘SWAG' Secures No. 1 Spot On Billboard R&B Albums Chart
The surprise LP has debuted No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart, and according to Billboard, the feat marks his second chart topper in that category since 2020's Changes, which dominated for three weeks.
SWAG also garnered Bieber his highest streaming week ever for an album after earning 163,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with streaming accounting for 155,000 of those units. The album also debuted at No. 2 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and the Billboard 200 charts.
As far as the records go, 'YUKON' debuted No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, marking Bieber's sixth single to do so. Overall, SWAG had eight tracks land on the Hot R&B Songs chart, including 'GO BABY,' 'WAY IT IS' featuring Gunna, 'DEVOTION' featuring Dijon, 'SWEET SPOT' with Sexyy Red, and the titular track featuring Cash Cobain and Eddie Benjamin.
SWAG concluded a lengthy hiatus in which Bieber was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, parted ways with his longtime manager Scooter Braun, got married, welcomed his first child, and sold his publishing catalog in a monumental $200 million deal.
He reportedly sold his catalog because he was on the verge of 'financial collapse,' according to a documentary, TMZ Investigates: What Happened to Justin Bieber?.
Back in April, after sources claimed he was in debt from cancelling a tour, his rep stated that it was 'clickbait stupidity.' Meanwhile, someone else told PEOPLE that Bieber was 'facing a lot of different demons right now. He is making some really poor decisions lately, further impacting friendships, money, and business. People are worried about him.' Bieber addressed such claims on the album. Listen above.

Lisa Breaks Her Tie With Jennie And Matches Rosé
Every week that Maroon 5 and Lisa's collaboration 'Priceless' holds on Billboard's pop radio charts, the tune makes history in one way or another. The combined star power of both acts ensured that the duet reached all three of the company's airplay rosters focused on pop music, and it hasn't faded from them in the months since it dropped. For the most part, 'Priceless' is still climbing, as it scores another week on the most competitive of the three lists. Lisa breaks out of a tie with one of her Blackpink bandmates and matches another member of the group for a slightly better position in the ranking's annals this week. 12 Weeks on the Pop Airplay Chart 'Priceless' jumps from No. 19 to No. 18, returning to its all-time peak on the Pop Airplay chart. As of this frame, the collaboration has spent 12 weeks somewhere on the tally. As it makes it to that milestone, 'Priceless' reaches the same level as 'Toxic Till the End' by fellow Blackpink musician Rosé. Both cuts have now lived on the list for a dozen periods. The two tracks are currently tied as the fourth-longest-charting hits of all time by K-pop female soloists on the Pop Airplay ranking. Lisa Pushes Past Jennie Last week, Lisa was tied with Blackpink's Jennie, as her semi-namesake track 'Like Jennie' racked up 11 weeks on the Pop Airplay chart before falling away. Now, 'Priceless' moves ahead, pushing 'Like Jennie' outside the top five on the list of the sturdiest cuts by female K-pop soloists. Lisa May Continue to Make History with 'Priceless' 'Priceless' will almost surely pass 'Toxic Till the End' in the coming days, as it seems unlikely the tune will fall from No. 18 to somewhere outside the top 40 on the Pop Airplay chart. Lisa still has weeks to go before advancing again on the list, however, as Jennie's other radio smash 'One of the Girls' with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp disappeared after 15 weeks on the radio roster. The all-time record for the longest stay on the Pop Airplay chart by a female K-pop soloist belongs to Rosé's 'Apt.,' which benefited from a feature by Bruno Mars. That cut remained on the top 40 roster for 28 weeks, while Lisa's own 'Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)' holds steady in the runner-up spot with 19 weeks on the tally to its credit.

On 'Bite Me,' Reneé Rapp punches back
NEW YORK — Reneé Rapp was clear on her intentions for her sophomore album, 'Bite Me,' from the start. 'I wanted to love this,' Rapp says. 'I wanted to be able to walk away from this and be so proud of myself and impressed, no matter what anybody else thought.' Her first album, 2023's 'Snow Angel, ' had been an experiment in figuring out her sound (a mix of pop, R&B and heart-wrenching ballads), and assembling a collection of songs that worked together. This album, out Friday, offered the chance to do it again, with an eye toward the way her life had changed in the intervening years.

‘KC and the Sunshine Band' Turns 50
In the early 1970s, Miami was a backwater of the R&B record business. A few independent labels such as Deep City, Alston and TK Records put out singles by local artists, but very few had crossover chart success. Then, in July 1974, George McCrae's 'Rock Your Baby'—written by TK employees Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch—soared to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles charts. Messrs. Casey and Finch revamped their own group—KC and the Sunshine Band—and released the 45 'Get Down Tonight' in February 1975. It, too, hit No. 1 on the two charts. When the band's eponymous album came out 50 years ago this month, the LP peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the R&B chart. Remaining on the Billboard 200 for 47 weeks, the record ushered in a new era of high-production, big-beat dance music that quickly became known as disco.
