The Alan Parsons Project is a name that hasn't been seen on the charts in quite some time. The progressive and symphonic rock outfit was active for more than a decade and a half, releasing music from the mid-1970s through the early 1990s. While the band — helmed by Alan Parsons and the late Eric Woolfson — was never a chart juggernaut, it carved out a unique space in rock history. The pair managed to score a number of bestselling albums, and helped expand what successful rock could sound like.
The group returns to the U.K. charts this week, but not with a brand new collection. Instead, a long-overlooked title is finally receiving some due attention, as a reissued edition of the band's debut full-length Tales of Mystery and Imagination is now a charting success.
The band's first full-length Tales of Mystery and Imagination makes its long-awaited debut on three tallies in the U.K. this week. Despite its age – it was released decades ago – the album is new to each of the tallies on which it lands. The release even manages to enter all three rankings inside the top 40
The set opens highest on the Official Physical Albums chart, where it comes in at No. 28. It also opens at No. 31 on the Official Vinyl Albums tally, and kicks off its time at No. 33 on the Official Albums Sales list.
Tales of Mystery and Imagination brings the Alan Parsons Project to the Official Vinyl Albums chart for the very first time. It becomes the group's inaugural placement on that ranking, while it also pushes the band's total career appearances on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rosters to four apiece.
Though the Alan Parsons Project hasn't released new material in a long time, the group has been reissuing classic albums steadily for years. The band first arrived on the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings in 2020 with Ammonia Avenue. That project was followed by The Turn of a Friendly Card in 2023 and Pyramid in early 2024, both of which also reached the same rosters.
Tales of Mystery and Imagination doesn't just mark another appearance for the Alan Parsons Project, it earns the rockers a new peak. The set is the band's first top 40 win on either the Official Albums Sales or Official Physical Albums chart.
Previously, Ammonia Avenue owned the title of the group's best placement on the Physical Albums list, peaking at No. 61. On the Albums Sales chart, Pyramid held the top spot among the band's entries, as it had once reached No. 73.
The success of Tales of Mystery and Imagination this frame is largely due to a special reissue campaign. The album was made available through the band's official website in a range of formats that long-time followers snapped up. Buyers could choose between a deluxe double LP, a single vinyl edition, or a CD. Some versions were remastered and pressed at various speeds, while others came packaged with bonus tracks, exclusive booklets, and more collectible items.

Using his favorite soapbox, Instagram, in a series of now-deleted posts, 50 Cent is letting his followers know that he's not playing regarding his hate for Diddy and that he will do whatever it takes to keep Diddy from securing a pardon from Felon 47. 'He said some really bad things about Trump, it's not ok. Im gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy,' the G-Unit general said in one Instagram post. In another, he added, 'Donald doesn't take well to disrespect, and doesn't forget who chooses to go against him. while working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy.' Is Trump Seriously Considering Pardoning Diddy? Now, it's unlikely that Trump will grant the disgraced rapper/mogul a pardon, but he was asked about it during a Friday press conference, telling reporters, 'People have been very close to asking' regarding a pardon for Diddy. However, he claims that no one has reached out to him yet. 'I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody is mistreated, whether they like me or don't like me, it wouldn't have any impact on me.' 🔥🚨BREAKING: Trump just floated the idea of pardoning Diddy. Not because of the evidence. Richard O'Brien reveals this famous rocker tried to buy ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show' film rights

Owned by Jagger. In the new documentary 'Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror,' creator Richard O'Brien revealed that Mick Jagger and his team tried to buy the film rights to 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' after the stage show made its US debut in 1974. But director Jim Sharman advised that they shouldn't go for Jagger's deal, and with producer Lou Adler's help, they created the film without a big name attached. 8 Richard O'Brien, Tim Curry and Patricia Quinn a lobby card from 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show.' Getty Images 'One of the great things about this is that we were a fringe theater event, and we were allowed to make a movie,' O'Brien, 83, said in the doc, according to People. 'Not only that, but Jim was allowed to direct it. Not only that, but Brian Thompson was allowed to be the artistic director. Not only that, but Tim [Curry] was allowed to play the lead role,' the famous producer continued. 'That's very rare, especially when it's America and a Hollywood matter.' 8 Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Jonathan Adams and Peter Hinwood on a lobby card from 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show.' [There were] three people who wanted to play [Dr. Frank-N-Furter] — Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, and of course, David Bowie,' Quinn, 81, recalled. '[They said] no Mick Jaggers, no Bowies, I'm having the original cast,' she added. 8 Mick Jagger with Sue Mengers at a stage production of 'The Rocky Horror Show' in Los Angeles. They agreed to present their own funds if the film didn't make that amount, per People. 'From the beginning, I had the feeling it was an event and something very, very special by the cast and the music, immediately,' Adler recalled of the original stage production, which premiered in London in 1973. 8 Richard O'Brien at the Oxford Union in March 2004. 'Sort of like cabaret, that you could go beyond sitting in a theater but you could enjoy the whole experience of it. And in the back of my mind, I just envisioned it as a film pretty much from the beginning,' Adler shared. 8 Lou Adler at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2006. © Mark Savage/Corbis He continued, 'The casting for the Roxy, we had some very, very talented people, most of who were local actors. I thought pretty much I couldn't duplicate Tim Curry. That was somebody we had to bring over, and that went for Richard also. But not only the fact that you're getting the actor that was in it, you're getting the creator.' 8 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' stars Richard O'Brien, Tim Curry and Patricia Quinn. Woman Asked If She's Blind on Dating App, Then She Realizes Why

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A bizarre opening line on a dating app has left one woman, and now the internet, in stitches. A TikTok user recently shared a baffling exchange she had on Hinge in a video, where a potential match bypassed the usual pleasantries with a direct and unexpected question: Are you blind? Since the video was posted, it has received over 315,000 views and 19,000 likes. "You ain't gonna believe this," the creator began her video. "Some guy has just messaged me on Hinge saying, 'Sorry, I hope you don't mind me asking, are you blind?'" A woman appears shocked at something on her phone. A woman appears shocked at something on her phone. fizkes/Getty Images "What do you mean, am I blind?" she said. Sharing the ensuing conversation with her followers, she prefaced it by saying, "Honestly, for someone who goes on dating apps all but once a week, there's always got to be some sort of story. Bear with. Here it is, girls." The screenshot revealed the exchange. After her clarifying question, the man elaborated on why he thought she was blind. "A few reasons," he wrote. "But the main one is I thought that was a stick in your second-to-last photo." The TikTok user then showed the photo in question—a picture of a bridge. "Let me show you the picture," she said. "It's London Bridge. That is a light, not a white stick." Reflecting on the odd encounter, she said, "I've got a complex. Do I I made myself look like something I'm not? I don't know. Is this is why I'm getting no matches? I can't believe it, honestly. Is this my sign to just delete? I'm lost for words, genuinely." "Also, I know that's not London Bridge for all you geography fanatics," she added. "Come at me and try and cancel me." She admitted her initial reaction was one of anticipation for a punchline that never arrived. "I was waiting for the next part of the joke. I thought it was a knock-knock joke. I was in anticipation, but it never came. Now I've got a a lot." The TikTok community responded with amusement and disbelief. One user commented on the man's reasoning: "The way he said, 'Well, a few reasons'...but are you looking away in every photo on there, maybe that's it?" "I cackled," another wrote about the man's bluntness. "At least he bothered looking at your profile and he's perceptive." The story proved to be a source of laughter for many—and despite the woman's lack of luck with matches, she's got plenty of people online wanting to hear more of her dating stories. "You've just given me the best bedtime story," one person wrote. "I am in tears laughing." "This is my first impression of you," another shared. "And I want to be your best friend."
