Murder detectives probe 'new sightings' of missing mother, 36, four months after she disappeared on shopping trip to Morrisons
Detectives are probing potential new sightings of a missing mother who vanished while shopping last year.
Charlene Hobbs, 36, from the Riverside area of Cardiff, has been missing since July 24, 2024, after a trip to Morrisons, with police treating her disappearance as murder.
The last known sighting of Charlene is when she was pictured in a property in Broadway, Adamsdown, at 06.07am.
Footage also shows the 36-year-old shopping in Morrisons Local, Adamstown, the day before her last sighting.
At the beginning of the clip, Ms Hobbs can be seen with her hair in a bun, wearing a dark strapless top with a distinctive dragon tattoo on her back, entering the premises with a mobile phone at her ear.
Walking through the shop floor, she heads straight to what appears to be the premises' till facility before leaving with what looks like a sum of cash in her hands.
However, officers have now received new information suggesting she could have been seen in the Adamsdown and Coryton areas following her disappearance.
Members of the public contacted South Wales Police after believing they have seen Charlene at these locations with unknown people.
She then leaves the building with what looks like a sum of cash in her hands
The first sighting was at around 11.20am on July 29 where Charlene was reportedly seen on the railway bridge, known locally as the Black Bridge.
Witnesses said the mother may have been wearing a blue jacket and was seen walking in a single file with two men.
One was described as white, aged in his 30s or 40s, and of average height while other man was said to be wearing a black face covering and was also of average height.
Almost four moths after Charlene's disapperence, members of the public said they saw her at an Asda in Coryton, Cardiff at around 5.30pm on November 1.
She was said to be stood at the front of the store by the security desk with a young boy who looked around four-years-old.
Witness added that a woman, around 40, with short burgundy dyed hair, approached Charlene and all three left the supermarket together.
Her disappearance is being treated as murder and Crimestoppers are offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
A 45-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the investigation and remains on police bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, from South Wales Police, said: 'As a result of enquiries we have received information of two possible sightings of Charlene.
'We would appeal to anyone with further information on these two sightings in Adamsdown and Coryton to please come forward.
'In particular, we are urging the two men on the railway bridge and the woman with the dyed burgundy hair in Asda to come forward.
'Despite a huge number of enquiries, we still have no proof that Charlene is alive, but we remain determined to find Charlene alive and return her to her family.
'Charlene's family continue to be updated, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.'

New Derbyshire FA boss wants to crack down on bad behaviour
The new boss of the Derbyshire Football Association (FA) has said one of his main priorities is to reduce bad behaviour at grassroots executive Liam Rooney said "we will work together and try different approaches" to tackle bad behaviour by players and comes after national FA data showed there were 95 allegations of assaults and attempted assaults on referees in 2023-24, compared to 72 during the 2022-23 Rooney, who has also been a referee for the past eight years, said: "One of the reasons I got involved with this role is due to the levels of abuse [referees] were suffering and I wanted to go out there and see what's going on." FA data also showed the number of serious case allegations, including those against players and match officials, rose 17% from 3,636 to 4, while the number of FA charges brought following the allegations rose from 2,263 to 2,561, there was a 1% decrease in the number of proven serious cases. The new chief executive said tackling poor behaviour was a "key priority" as well as "carrying on" the development of Derbyshire's leagues, clubs, referees and Rooney said: "We will not accept it, we need players, coaches and parents have a responsibility to behave."The only way we can overcome that barrier is to work together and try different approaches." 'I want to be out there' Mr Rooney, who began his career with Derbyshire FA in 2008, said he was giving his "full focus" on his new role and would be stepping back from his refereeing duties."This will enable me to get out and speak to many leagues and clubs within Derbyshire", said Mr Rooney. "I'm not a CEO that sits behind a desk, I want to be out there talking to everybody about what the challenges are, what the successes are and what people need from us as a county FA. "My role might have changed but I'm not going to change" he said. "I'm still going to be out there, I'm still going to have those relationships and listen to our volunteers, referees, players, parents and coaches and support them going forward."
