ENZO MARESCA claims the heat is hitting Chelsea's Club World Cup bid because it is 'almost impossible to train'.

And with Philadelphia under a 'Code Red' severe weather alert, it is still likely to be well over 30C when they play in the early hours of Wednesday morning — at 9pm local time.
Chelsea used giant fans to spray cold water over sweltering players during a brief tactical session.
Maresca said: 'It is almost impossible to train because of the weather.
'We are just trying to save energy for the game.
'This morning's session has been very, very short.
'It's been just about tomorrow's game, planning for tomorrow and that's it.
'It's not easy in these conditions with these temperatures. We are going to try to do our best.'
A draw would take the Blues through to the knockout stages with a likely date against Harry Kane's Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Chelsea captain Reece James missed training due to illness.
Maresca said: 'It's difficult to work in these temperatures but we are trying our best and will try to win tomorrow.
'It's impossible to do a normal session, otherwise you don't save energy for the game. So the session this morning was quite short.
'We are not training, almost. We are just doing very, very, very short sessions.
'We try just to be clinical and do the right things that we need for game preparation. We have the cooling break during the game which helps a little.'
Nicolas Jackson did not join training as he is banned after his red card in the 3-1 defeat to Flamengo.

June 24 - After starting just 15 games over his first two NFL seasons, Anthony Richardson dismissed concerns about his latest health issue. The 28-year-old has completed 64.1 percent of his passes, with 70 touchdowns through the air and 47 interceptions. He has also chipped in 2,179 yards on the ground with 15 TDs and 50 fumbles in 70 games (69 starts). Despite his struggles, Jones is already a favorite to start in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL Media's Judy Battista. "Among the issues that have led the Indianapolis Colts to stage a quarterback competition between Richardson and former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is Richardson's inability to stay on the field," Battista said in a June 16 report. "...The current setback clearly gives Jones a significant edge in a competition he had a good chance of winning anyway." In 15 starts, Richardson has completed 176 of 348 pass attempts (50.6 percemt) for 2,391 yards with 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Florida State lands commitments from Devin Carter, Xavier Tiller
June 24 - Florida State is growing accustomed to good news on the recruiting trail of late, as the Seminoles received two more commitments Monday following the securement of four-star signal-caller Jaden O'Neal on Sunday. Wide receiver Devin Carter flipped from Auburn to Florida State (after initially flipping from Florida State to Auburn in January), while tight end Xavier Tiller, previously a Texas A&M pledge, committed to FSU as well. Carter, the son of former Seminoles star Dexter Carter, is a 6-foot-1 playmaker who also boasted offers from Georgia and North Carolina, among others. A four-star prospect, Carter ranks as the No. 120 overall recruit in the country, per the 247Sports composite. The Douglas County (Ga.) product originally committed to Florida State in 2023. His father played running back for the Seminoles from 1986-89 and was a first-round NFL draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers. He later returned to his alma mater to coach the program's running backs under Bobby Bowden from 2007-09. Tiller, considered the No. 204 overall recruit by the 247Sports composite, is likewise a four-star from Georgia (Langston Hughes High School). Standing 6-foot-5, he also holds offers from Auburn, Alabama, Louisville and Georgia. June 23 (Reuters) - Atletico Madrid will have to pick themselves up again as they pack their bags to travel back home earlier than most expected from the Club World Cup, after being knocked out of the tournament in the group stage.
