Vibrant Celebrations Ahead As National Month Kicks Off In Johor
KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 (Bernama) -- The launch of National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign 2025 at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Muar, Johor on July 27 will feature a variety of engaging programmes designed to benefit the public, especially the local community.
Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa said the event, to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, reflects the government's concern for the people in line with the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day theme, 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni'.
He said among the fringe events in conjunction with the launch is the Karnival Kita MADANI, which will bring government services directly to the people from July 25 to 27.
'This carnival is similar to a mini MADANI Rakyat Programme . We will set up booths showcasing government initiatives and mobile services, including those from the National Registration Department, Road Transport Department, Employees Provident Fund, Muar Municipal Council and the Mobile Dental Clinic.
'There will also be various competitions held, such as the Bakat MADANI singing contest, a colouring competition for children, and an art fiesta,' he said when appearing as a guest on the Selamat Pagi Malaysia programme aired by Radio Televisyen Malaysia today.
Mohamad Fauzi said MADANI community entrepreneurs will also be given the opportunity to promote their products during the Karnival Kita MADANI.
He said one of the main events on launch day will be the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy, involving 93 vehicles comprising three assets from the Department of Information Malaysia, eight from the Royal Malaysia Police, 10 from state government agencies and departments in Johor, 30 from the BMW Motor Club of Johor, and 42 from the gig economy sector.
A Merdeka 6.8KM Fun Run & Walk will also be held, with the distance chosen to commemorate 68 years of independence. The event is open to all and registration is free.
'We are targeting 3,000 participants. The first 1,000 registrants will receive a free T-shirt, while 1,000 medals will be given to those who complete the run, along with lucky draw prizes,' he said.
