'I went to Paris to buy £200 Louis Vuitton chocolate bag – one thing amazed me'
A man travelled to Paris to get his hands on a £200 Louis Vuitton chocolate Easter egg-shaped bag, created for the brand by French pastry chef Maxime Frédéric, and has shared his honest thoughts
A man took a trip all the way to Paris to buy a Louis Vuitton chocolate bag for nearly £200. Many people will have indulged in some chocolate over the weekend for Easter but Carmie Sellitto, from London, took it even further by getting his hands on an edible designer treat.
Carmie is known for reviewing new foods on social media that we might not normally be able to afford. He posted a video on TikTok on Sunday, April 20 giving his honest verdict on the Louis Vuitton chocolate bag, in the shape of an Easter egg. The product retails at 225 Euros which is equal to £192.90.
Speaking in the video Carmie said: "I had to travel all the way to Paris just to get this because they don't sell it anywhere else. It smells so chocolatey. I've never ever had some sort of chocolate from like Louis Vuitton so I'm really intrigued to know what that tastes like as well."
Carmie proceeded to take the chocolate bag out of the cardboard box it came packaged in and he described it as 'actually insane.' He mentioned that it was 'so heavy' and that he could feel the detailing of the zipline of the chocolate.
The food reviewer said it felt as if he could pull the zip down to unlock the bag. Commenting on the appearance of the product, he remarked: 'It's so beautiful that I don't even want to bite into it.'
Holding it by the handles, he was also amazed at how much it felt 'like a real bag' and wasn't 'flimsy.' Carmie then tried to see if he could open the bag using the zip but found that the zipper isn't real.
Moving onto tasting the chocolate bag, he firstly took a bite out of the handles and exclaimed: 'That is some good chocolate!' Next, the new food reviewer tasted the top part of the chocolate Easter egg shaped bag and uncovered a middle layer of chocolate inside.
He dropped the whole bag onto a table, cracking it to get a good look inside the product. Carmie unveiled a smooth layer of chocolate inside which he said felt like leather.
He bit this part of the bag and his pupils dilated, indicating how impressed he was. Carmie said: 'That is beautiful. So inside the bag it's like a hazelnut praline which is one of my favourites.'
The food reviewer then tasted the outer layer of the bag, the egg 'shell' printed all over with the classic Louis Vuitton logo, and noted that he loved the 'crunch.' Carmie concluded his TikTok video: 'So yeah, I am going to go ahead and rate it a solid ten out of ten.
'Shoutout to Louis Vuitton and shoutout to the chef or chocolate maker who is Maxime Frédéric, sorry if I pronounce it wrong. I'm Italian, not French.'
The Louis Vuitton website explains: 'From Normandy to Paris, Maxime Frédéric, Pastry Chef of the Year according to the Gault & Millau 2022 Guide and pastry chef at Cheval Blanc Paris, has brought his renowned expertise to Louis Vuitton, combining savoir-faire with emblematic signatures for iconic, delectable creations.'
Frédéric's Louis Vuitton 'Chocolate Egg Bag' was inspired by the 'iconic model created by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of the Women's collections.'

'Prankster' storms stage at Katy Perry concert in Sydney
SYDNEY — Pop star Katy Perry was surprised at her concert in Sydney on Monday when an attendee briefly ran up to her on stage and grabbed her before being escorted away by security. Perry was midway through her show at the the 21,000-seat Qudos Bank Arena, the second of three sold-out dates in the Australian city on her 'Lifetimes Tour.' Video footage posted by a concertgoer and verified by NBC News showed a man run down the circular stage, throw an arm around Perry's shoulder and start bouncing and dancing wildly. Perry, who appeared surprised, quickly moved away as she continued singing her 2008 hit 'Hot N Cold.' 'There's never going to be another show like this, so just enjoy it, Sydney,' she said, as the fan appeared to struggle with security guards. 'What the hell is going on?' Perry said to the crowd, as the man was dragged off stage. A representative for Perry could not immediately be reached for comment. The incident highlights growing concerns about poor etiquette at concerts, with audience members throwing items at artists such as Harry Styles and Lady Gaga. Police in the state of New South Wales, which includes Sydney, told NBC News that a man had been arrested and charged with two offenses: entering enclosed land and obstructing a person in performance of work or duties. They said he had been detained by security after jumping on stage during a concert around 9:20 p.m. local time. The man has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear in court on June 23, the police said, declining to name him in the meantime. He has also been banned for six months from Sydney Olympic Park, where the arena is located. The man has been identified in Australian media as Johnson Wen, who describes himself as a 'prankster' on his TikTok account, where he goes by the username pyjamamann and has a little over 1,100 followers. 'I was like, 'Let me get on stage with you,' and then she freaked out because I think she realized I wasn't a performer,' Wen told Australia's 9 News about the incident, adding that he was 'about to do the extra Fortnite move, but security got there too quick.' Previous videos posted on Wen's account show him running on stage at a concert by The Weeknd in Melbourne last year, and onto the field at the FIFA Women's World Cup final in 2023. 'I'm planning to quit forever, because you get in way too much trouble for it,' he said. Wen did not immediately respond to a request for comment. By Tuesday, he had posted four different videos of him rushing the stage. "Katy Perry your songs are my Childhood Memmory since 2008," he wrote in a caption for one of the videos. Another caption read,"Me Hugging Katy Perry on Stage. I said to Her 'let me dance for you'"

Tourists' 'most expensive' currency mistakes abroad - including £30 can of Coke
Tourists' 'most expensive' currency mistakes abroad - including £30 can of Coke A survey of 2,000 holidaymakers has revealed some of the priciest purchases people have made while abroad, after getting muddled about currency conversion rates Some get mixed up about the value of money 'in pounds' when abroad (Image: Getty Images ) Holidaymakers have revealed some of the most expensive purchases they've unwittingly made whilst on their travels. A poll of 2,000 globetrotters found that nearly a third felt they were often overcharged for goods due to being tourists. One unfortunate traveller forked out £30 for a single glass of Coca-Cola in Rome, while another unsuspectingly splashed out £80 on a T-shirt, thinking it was only £10. Other unexpected costs reported by participants included coughing up an eye-watering £48 for a single shot of whiskey. Another individual paid £25 for a taxi journey in Amsterdam, only to find out their destination was less than a mile away. The research, carried out by the Post Office, suggested that holidaymakers often grapple with 'currency confusion' - getting mixed up about the value of money 'in pounds' when abroad. This has led to a quarter of people paying more than they expected for an item. Some think they have overpaid simply because they're a tourist (Image: Getty Images ) The most common currency conversion for Brits, changing to euros, also left respondents puzzled, with almost a third unsure of how much £5 would be in Euros. Furthermore, 40 per cent were clueless about the exchange rate for dollars. Article continues below According to the study, four in ten attempt to work out local currency rates in their heads, while 6 per cent will ask a nearby person and then take their word for it. Laura Plunkett, the head of travel money at Post Office, said: "Our research reveals many travellers overestimate their ability to mentally convert currencies on the go, and that can lead to overspending. "We wanted to highlight how easily confusion around exchange rates can impact holiday budgets - no one wants to waste time abroad worrying about money." The study was commissioned to promote the Post Office's Travel Money Card, as well as their Travel App which allows holidaymakers to check exchange rates and monitor spending in real time. "It's surprising that only 19% of travellers use a prepaid travel card for their spending abroad when it can allow travellers to lock in a good rate before travelling," Laura expressed. Article continues below In contrast, nearly half of the travellers prefer to use a separate card not linked to their main bank account when spending overseas, aiming to protect their principal money from thieves. Laura went on to say: "Nothing disrupts a holiday like a financial mishap. Keeping your travel money separate from your main account is a smart move to give you greater control, clearer visibility of what you're spending." She added: "Whether you're budgeting carefully or just want to avoid mixing travel purchases with everyday costs, this small step can make a big difference to your trip."
