Astronomer CEO Andy Bryon's wife, Megan Kerrigan, an accomplished educator and the mother of two kids, has reportedly dropped his surname after the 'Coldplaygate' went viral.
The Coldplay concert in Massachusetts turned out to be a nightmare for Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, after the kiss cam zeroed in on him sharing an intimate moment with his company's HR chief, Kristin Cabot, triggering a wave of memes and chatter about their affair.
The attention has shifted to Bryon's wife, Megan Kerrigan, an accomplished educator and the mother of two kids, who had dropped his surname from her Facebook profile following public outrage after the 'Coldplaygate' – the term used by netizens on the viral kiss cam moment exposing Bryon's alleged affair with Cabot.
After the kiss cam controversy, many netizens have flooded her posts with messages of support, particularly those featuring her children and family. 'Am genuinely sad for Meg Kerrigan and the Byron sons. They didn't deserve this, and I hope they recover quickly and fully from the inevitable hurt Andy Byron has caused them," said one user.
Who Is Megan Kerrigan?
Megan Kerrigan Byron is an accomplished educator based in Massachusetts who currently serves as Associate Director of the Lower School and Admissions for the Hope Graham Program at the Bancroft School in Worcester.
Although Megan keeps her life private online, the kiss cam moment at the Coldplay concert brought unexpected attention. An X user revealed online that Megan had dropped her husband's surname from her Facebook profile. 'What a class act! Go Megan. Get that divorce lawyer and get the money," wrote the user called Mrs SpaceX.
Kerrigan deleted her Facebook page on Thursday, but screenshots show she removed her married name — Byron— from it earlier in the day. She also deleted her Instagram account.
An Expensive Divorce?
Megan's move to delete her Facebook profile has led to rumours that the couple may be heading for a divorce. So far, she has not made any official comment. The couple resides in New York.
If a divorce happens, Andy may have to pay a large alimony. His net worth is not publicly known, but his company, Astronomer, is worth more than $1 billion. According to reports, Andy is among the highest-paid executives in Ohio.
Depending on the final agreement, Kerrigan could claim a share of marital assets, including cash, investments, real estate, and other holdings, according to the Economic Times. In many US states, marital assets are split either equally or equitably, depending on the local divorce laws. Child support and spousal support may also be factored in.
Meanwhile, Andy Byron has not publicly addressed the incident, although the internet refuses to let the matter die down. The scandal has raised several questions – from Bryon's act of 'cheating" to workplace relationships.
