SiriusXM launches 24/7 pro wrestling channel on July 1

Independent26-06-2025
Pro wrestling has gone from a once a week show on SiriusXM to having its own channel.
The satellite radio provider announced Thursday that Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7 will take over Channel 156 beginning Tuesday.
Channel 156 has been SiriusXM Fight Nation, which has carried pro wrestling, MMA and boxing shows.
'I couldn't be more excited,' said Dave LaGreca, the longtime host of 'Busted Open,' which started as a one-hour weekly show in 2009. 'I really owe it to our fans. They've really been dedicated and asked for this for years. It's a dream come true to actually see it form. And now, it's about to happen.'
'Busted Open' expanded to five days a week in 2018 before going to six days one year later. It will have a live episode seven days a week from 9 a.m.-noon EDT on the new channel featuring LaGreca with wrestling stars Bully Ray, Mark Henry and Tommy Dreamer.
The show has appealed to fans of both WWE and AEW with video clips of interviews getting plenty of engagement on social media.
The channel's daily lineup will also feature programs from Sam Roberts, Peter Rosenberg, Jonathan Coachman, Natalya and Matt Cardona.
Five nights a week there will be a 'Busted Open After Dark' program, where fans can call in and react after WWE and AEW shows.
'The great thing is we're not associated with WWE or AEW, so we can give our honest opinion about both products,' said LaGreca, who signed a multi-year extension with SiriusXM. 'The fact that there is a little bit of tension between those two companies and even the fans, it makes it even better for what we're doing on air. The fact that there are more companies that are succeeding at record-breaking levels is even better for our brand, and the big reason why we're going 24/7.'
Pro wrestling also can claim — at least on satellite radio — for being on an level playing field with professional sports leagues and major college conferences in having a dedicated channel.
'The appetite for wrestling content continues to increase, and we're able to uniquely meet the demand of those fans by delivering a new 24/7 channel just for them,' said Jared Fox, SiriusXM's Senior Vice President for Sports Programming, Content Marketing & Partnerships, and Artist Relations. 'We have a long track record of building dedicated sports channels that fans love."
LaGreca said he is hoping to add more analysts as well as continue to seek input from fans on possible additions or lineup changes.

Who should play Elon Musk in 'Artificial'? As Andrew Garfield is cast as Sam Altman, AI reveals the actors who could take on the role as the Tesla billionaire

It's one of the most eagerly anticipated movies in Hollywood, starring Andrew Garfield as the notorious OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman. But as hype around 'Artificial' builds, one key question remains – who is brave enough to take on the role of Elon Musk? Several names have already been floated, including comedic actor, Ike Barinholtz. However, it seems that AI – one of the key themes of the film – has other ideas. MailOnline asked ChatGPT which actors it thought would be able to tackle the role of the Tesla billionaire. According to the bot, the actor would need to 'pull off three things at once' – Musk's look, mannerisms, and energy. The leading contender for the role? Joseph Gordon–Levitt. 'Joseph Gordon–Levitt — adaptable, could nail the thoughtful–yet–offbeat vibe,' ChatGPT explained. MailOnline asked ChatGPT which actors it thought would be able to take on the role as the Tesla billionaire Artificial will be directed by Luca Guadagnino, and is loosely based on the drama behind the scenes at OpenAI. In 2023, Sam Altman was famously fired due to a loss of confidence from the board, before being rehired just five days later. Musk co–founded the company with Altman in 2015, but left in 2018 – and has been very vocal in his distain for his co–founder ever since. So far, several high–profile celebrities have been confirmed for the film, which is yet to have a release date. Andrew Garfield will star as Altman, while Monica Barbaro will play Mira Murati, the former Interim OpenAI CEO. Cooper Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman, Billie Lourd, and Chris O'Dowd also join the list, although their roles remain unclear. As for the part of Musk, ChatGPT explained that the actor will need to match the billionaire's look (tall, slightly angular face, intense eyes), mannerisms (mix of awkward pauses, blunt delivery, and bursts of enthusiasm), and energy (restless ambition, a bit of chaos, and occasional deadpan humor). Based on that rationale, the bot has put forward six potential actors. The AI bot has put forward six potential actors to play Elon Musk – including Nicholas Hoult and Cillian Murphy ChatGPT explained that the actor will need to match the billionaire's look (tall, slightly angular face, intense eyes), mannerisms (mix of awkward pauses, blunt delivery, and bursts of enthusiasm), and energy (restless ambition, a bit of chaos, and occasional deadpan humor) Alongside Joseph Gordon–Levitt, the AI bot suggests that Sherlock star, Benedict Cumberbatch, could have what it takes. He has 'proven range with eccentric geniuses, and could tweak his voice to match Musk's cadence,' ChatGPT explained. Oscar winner Rami Malek, who has previously played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, is also a strong contender. He 'excels at portraying enigmatic, hyper–focused characters,' the bot explained. Skins star, Nicholas Hoult 'can do both awkward charm and intense ambition,' ChatGPT adds, while Oppenheimer's Cillian Murphy 'would bring a quieter, more calculating take on Musk'. Finally, ChatGPT has included a wild card – Adam Driver. 'If Hollywood wanted a slightly satirical version, Adam Driver could absolutely crush it,' the bot added. Elon Musk wants to push technology to its absolute limit, from space travel to self-driving cars — but he draws the line at artificial intelligence. The billionaire first shared his distaste for AI in 2014, calling it humanity's 'biggest existential threat' and comparing it to 'summoning the demon.' At the time, Musk also revealed he was investing in AI companies not to make money but to keep an eye on the technology in case it gets out of hand. His main fear is that in the wrong hands, if AI becomes advanced, it could overtake humans and spell the end of mankind, which is known as The Singularity. That concern is shared among many brilliant minds, including the late Stephen Hawking, who told the BBC in 2014: 'The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. 'It would take off on its own and redesign itself at an ever-increasing rate.' Despite his fear of AI, Musk has invested in the San Francisco-based AI group Vicarious, in DeepMind, which has since been acquired by Google, and OpenAI, creating the popular ChatGPT program that has taken the world by storm in recent months. During a 2016 interview, Musk noted that he and OpenAI created the company to 'have democratisation of AI technology to make it widely available.' Musk founded OpenAI with Sam Altman, the company's CEO, but in 2018 the billionaire attempted to take control of the start-up. His request was rejected, forcing him to quit OpenAI and move on with his other projects. In November, OpenAI launched ChatGPT, which became an instant success worldwide. The chatbot uses 'large language model' software to train itself by scouring a massive amount of text data so it can learn to generate eerily human-like text in response to a given prompt. ChatGPT is used to write research papers, books, news articles, emails and more. But while Altman is basking in its glory, Musk is attacking ChatGPT. He says the AI is 'woke' and deviates from OpenAI's original non-profit mission. 'OpenAI was created as an open source (which is why I named it 'Open' AI), non-profit company to serve as a counterweight to Google, but now it has become a closed source, maximum-profit company effectively controlled by Microsoft, Musk tweeted in February. The Singularity is making waves worldwide as artificial intelligence advances in ways only seen in science fiction - but what does it actually mean? In simple terms, it describes a hypothetical future where technology surpasses human intelligence and changes the path of our evolution. Experts have said that once AI reaches this point, it will be able to innovate much faster than humans. There are two ways the advancement could play out, with the first leading to humans and machines working together to create a world better suited for humanity. For example, humans could scan their consciousness and store it in a computer in which they will live forever. The second scenario is that AI becomes more powerful than humans, taking control and making humans its slaves - but if this is true, it is far off in the distant future. Researchers are now looking for signs of AI reaching The Singularity, such as the technology's ability to translate speech with the accuracy of a human and perform tasks faster. Former Google engineer Ray Kurzweil predicts it will be reached by 2045.

I had 3 kids under 2 – everyone's baffled when I tell them… it was a shock to me too, but was down to a simple mistake

A MUM who had three kids under the age of two has revealed people are always baffled when she tells them. Nicole took to her TikTok page to explain her unusual situation, which occurred when she fell pregnant with twins when her daughter was 11 months old. 6 6 6 6 And in the video, she admitted the pregnancy was a "huge shock", and happened when she made a very easy error. "I actually didn't pick up my pill prescription from the doctors for like five days, and then just started taking it and thought I'd be all right," she said. "We'd actually decided that we only wanted to have one child together, because he already had a five-year-old." Nicole continued to say her "life was blissful" when her daughter was born, and she and her other half were "really in that bubble" thanks to their little girl being a "happy, easy baby". So when she started to get pregnancy symptoms when her daughter was 11 months old, she took a test, and discovered she was expecting again. For the first scan, Nicole's husband couldn't make it, so she took her mum. Laying down ready for the scan, she was chatting to the sonographer and said that she could already feel the baby moving - to which the pro insisted it was "wind", unless she had "more than one baby" in there. The scan then began, with the sonographer telling Nicole she was "right". "I thought she was joking!" When she realised that she wasn't joking, and she was actually pregnant with twins, Nicole went into "full panic mode" and burst into tears. Jesy Nelson breaks silence on twins' life-saving surgery in first TV interview The situation was made even more emotional by the fact that her husband was an identical twin, but he tragically lost his brother aged 20. And the drama continued thanks to the fact that her twins shared one placenta - meaning the pregnancy was high risk, and she had to have scans at hospital every two weeks. "Then they decided to come at 10 and a half weeks early. So they were born at 29 weeks!" she concluded. The comments section on the video was somewhat surprisingly filled with other mums saying they'd found themselves in very similar situations. "I'm so similar, I fell pregnant when my son was 11 months and had identical twin girls at 29 weeks too," one wrote. "For 10 days I had 3 under 18 months." What are the different types of twins? TWINS are when two children are produced in the same pregnancy. They can be identical or different, and two boys, two girls, or a girl and a boy. Twins are quite rare, but are usually born completely healthy What are the different types of twins? Monozygotic – identical twins ('one cell' twins) Dizygotic – also known as 'fraternal', non identical twins. Babies are no more alike than siblings born at separate times, and they can be the same or different sexes Conjoined twins – identical twins that are joined together. They are extremely rare, and it's estimated they range from one in 49,000 to 189,000 births, although around half are stillborn, and one third die within 24 hours. Can identical twins be two different sexes? Identical twins are always of the same sex because they form from the same fertilised egg that contains either female or male chromosomes. The single egg is divided into two separate embryos, and they occur in about three in every 1000 deliveries worldwide. Therefore, boy/girl twins are always fraternal (or dizygotic), as their chromosomes are either XY (male) or XX (female). What are Di Di twins? Di Di stands for Dichronic Diamniotic, and they are the common type of twins. They have their own amniotic sacs and placenta, so are just sharing the womb of the mother, and are therefore not identical. There are few complications with Di Di twins, so have a good chance of being born completely healthy without intervention from your doctor. Di di twins are more likely to be non-identical than identical. "This happened to me!" another said. "But all 3 of mine were in the same school year my daughter was the oldest in the year and my boys were the youngest in the year!!!" "Same story for us, when my first boy was 8 months old I became pregnant with identical twin boys," a third admitted. "My eldest was exactly 1/5 years when they were born! Wild ride ever since haha!" "This happened to me," someone else said. "My daughter was 8 months - the twins were born when she was 16 months." 6 6

Giancarlo Stanton vies to fuel Yankees to sweep of Twins

August 13 - The New York Yankees are spending the past few days praising the willingness of Giancarlo Stanton to play right field until Aaron Judge is able to return to the mix. The Yankees also are enjoying Stanton's hot streak at the plate. The slugger is coming off his first four-hit performance in nearly two years heading into Wednesday when New York attempts to finish off a three-game sweep of the visiting Minnesota Twins. The Yankees are 4-2 in their past six contests following a five-game losing streak. In Tuesday's 9-1 rout, Stanton went 4-for-5 for his first four-hit game since Aug. 24, 2023. The Yankees collected 11 hits and 11 walks to get on the verge of their first series sweep since beating the Seattle Mariners July 8-10 during their five-game winning streak. "I feel good," Stanton said. "Putting together good at-bats, the timing's there." Stanton homered, doubled and had two singles, including a two-run base hit. He ended his third game in right field while Judge fully recovers from an elbow injury with a .300 average and is 8-for-13 in his past four contests. "It's been impressive," Judge said of Stanton, who homered in consecutive games for the third time this season and has eight homers in his past 18 contests. "Besides the homers and clutch hits, he's using the whole field. Ever since he's come back he's been dialed in." The Twins are on a nine-game losing streak to the Yankees and 5-28 in the regular season in New York over their past 33 visits. After winning four of their previous five games heading into the series, the Twins have mustered four hits in the series. On Tuesday, Austin Martin hit a leadoff single and the Twins only scored when Royce Lewis avoided a double play. After loading the bases in the first inning, Minnesota had one baserunner the rest of the way. Minnesota also issued a season-worst 11 walks after permitting two and getting 12 strikeouts in Monday's 6-2 loss. "I'd say our strike throwing wasn't too good today and it has to be significantly better," Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli said. "That's no secret." Right-hander Joe Ryan (11-5, 2.79 ERA), who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 17 starts, will get the nod on Wednesday for the Twins. He last pitched Thursday at home against Kansas City and allowed one run on four hits in five innings of a 9-4 win. Ryan is 5-2 with a 2.55 ERA in 11 road starts this season. He is 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA in four career starts against the Yankees. Fellow right-hander Cam Schlittler (1-2, 4.38) makes his sixth career start and first versus Minnesota. He has not allowed more than three runs each time out. Schlittler last pitched Friday when he took a no-decision after allowing two runs on seven hits in five innings of a 5-3, 10-inning loss to the Houston Astros. --Field Level Media
