FEELING the spark draining from their romance, Tom and Lauren decided opening up their relationship and trying sex with other couples would rekindle the flame.
But their first attempts at swinging proved a flop after Tom's erectile dysfunction prevented things from going to plan.

It left the couple, both 32, feeling desperate - especially as Lauren was keen to live a non-monogamous lifestyle.
Tom and Lauren, who have been together eight years and are engaged, decided heading on National TV for specialist help was the only way forward and signed up to Channel 4's Open House: The Great Sex Experiment.
'We'd tried a couple of times and unfortunately had some bad experiences,' Lauren said.
'Tom just didn't feel comfortable naked. While the couples were amazing and I was a lot more open, Tom just wasn't.
'So we thought with the show having experienced non-monogamous people and a therapist, it would be a good way to try again.'
Lauren had brought up the idea of swinging because she is bisexual and felt 'something was missing' in a monogamous relationship.
Their plans were put on hold when Tom was diagnosed with the heart condition Bicuspid aortic valve, where the main valve in his heart doesn't function properly. It's the same condition that Arnold Schwarzenegger has.
The couple were advised by doctors to avoid anything that could cause a high heart-rate - meaning no swinging - and that Tom had to stop going to the gym, leading him to put on weight and his confidence plummeted.
Once things were back on a stable footing, the couple decided to sign up for Open House: The Great Sex Experiment for a fresh start when it comes to swinging.
The 48-hour luxury retreat mixes therapy with opportunities for couples to try out a non-monogamous lifestyle and meet like-minded people.

Tom credits being able to speak with non-monogamy therapist Effy with helping him to understand that erectile dysfunction isn't uncommon and to realise that he did want to explore swinging with Lauren.
'It was really throwing me off the deep end going on the show but that was what I needed,' he said.
'The therapy forced me to confront things, like looking after myself, and Effy hit nerves which is why I break down on the show.
'But she also helped me to get back into the swing of everything. I know that the swinging is helping our relationship and it's given me confidence that I don't need Lauren right next to me to be confident.
"Our communication has improved so much and we're so much stronger.'
On the first night, Lauren and Tom took FIVE singles back to their room in a bid to have group sex.
The group sex was initiated by Tom, who had been set a challenge by the therapist to invite some residents back in a bid to improve his confidence.
Despite being incredibly nervous, Tom was able to perform thanks to lots of attention focused on his erogenous zones.
Therapy boost

At the time, Tom was 19st 6lbs, which had left him feeling incredibly body conscious.
Tom said: 'The therapist got me to feel quite strong and be in a place to engage in group sex where I hadn't been before.
'Meeting the residents has really opened up my eyes to what our life could be like. They made me feel so welcome and comfortable.
'Having a chance to open up about my issues has shown me that I'm not the only one at all.
'It reminded me that a lot of people struggle with it at different times. I don't need to see a naked person and think that I don't know what I'm doing.
'Once I was in my head about not being able to perform, that's where it would all go wrong, and then it would become difficult to do what I wanted to do.'
As a former gym addict, Tom admits that he used to have his top off all the time to show off his ripped physique, but now worries people will stare at him for the wrong reasons.
Since filming the series, he has dropped to 16 and a half stone, which has helped him feel more comfortable exploring swinging.
'The show has opened my eyes and it's helped me massively to have the motivation to make changes,' Tom explained.
Bonus bonk

The couple have continued to explore the world of swinging and attended several parties.
Lauren said: 'It was absolutely a bonus to end up having sex. I think it all came down to the help the therapist gave us when it came to our communication.
'The residents were so supportive of us. Even at a normal swinging event, having sex with other people is a bonus rather than a given.
'Our biggest worry was that we'd go on the show and none of the residents were going to be interested in us.'
Finally, having successful group sex has strengthened the couple's relationship, even though they thought the show might have the opposite effect.
'Lauren told me afterwards that she thought that the show was going to break our relationship,' Tom said.
'Instead, it's made me realise that I do really want this type of lifestyle. I like the after effects like cuddle and the stories. Plus, it's a way for me to learn new things to bring back to our bed.
'Our sex life now is so good. I didn't imagine this would happen.
'It's brought us closer together. It's really given us our spark back.'
Parental woes

One downside about going on Open House, for a lot of people, is that it shows explicit sex scenes - and there's the possibility of parents watching.
But for Lauren and Tom, they were shocked to discover their parents were very supportive and were even considering watching their episodes.
She said: 'I was actually pleasantly surprised by the reaction of both our mums. They were so supportive.
'It's not a show they would normally watch and we've explained to them how explicit it is. We suggested they watch the previous serious to make a decision on if they'd actually want to watch us on the show.
'Obviously we can't stop them from watching if they want to.
'Our dads weren't really bothered, but have said 'good for you'.'
The couple hope that the show will help people understand that being in an open relationship doesn't mean you'll have sex with everyone.
'People seem to think that we're at orgies with thousands of people every weekend and that's just not the case,' Lauren said.
'We like to get to know someone before we jump into bed with them. It's no different from being single and having a one-night stand.

Love Island star's SHOCK EXIT as they leave the villa ahead of upcoming series after citing 'personal reasons'

Love Island star Kyle Ashman has left the show ahead of the launch episode next Monday. ITV have confirmed the 23-year-old from Stafford has chosen not to enter the villa and has decided to leave the show for personal reasons. It comes amid The Sun's reports that Kyle was involved in an machete attack in February when masked thugs stormed a wake and hacked at a dad with a blade. Kyle was one of two arrested by police but he was released with no further action and he has now confirmed he had no involvement in the incident, but has chosen to leave the ITV show regardless. Kyle told MailOnline: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Meanwhile ITV added: 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.' The Love Island line up was announced on Tuesday so Kyle's departure will have plunged the show into chaos ahead of Monday's launch episode. The Sun have revealed they alerted bosses on Kyle being questioned in the attack but ITV said they were unaware of the incident and he was not flagged during the contestant checks. The incident on February 28 saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept it for around two weeks. Another mourner was reportedly glassed, one hit with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car during the 15 minute attack at the The White Eagle Club in Stafford. Sources said the victim was attacked by three balaclava-clad thugs over an alleged £3,000 debt. He was injured by a blade that left him with a deep gash and has suffered tendon damage and is now unable to drive. Police confirmed yesterday that after the matter had been investigated Kyle and another individual were released with no further action only last month. The incident on February 28 at The White Eagle Club in Stafford saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment A show source told the publication: 'ITV were entirely unaware of Kyle's past and, as he was not charged, it was not flagged as part of Love Island's stringent DBS checks. 'It's only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.' Staffordshire Police said on Monday: 'A 22-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and affray. Another man, also 22 and from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of affray. 'Both were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.' Kyle, who works as a water operative, doesn't have a strong social media presence with just one Insta pic on his profile. Prior to his announced departure, Kyle said he was looking for 'someone that's fun, confident and just themselves'.

Samantha Armytage commits dangerous act in London as she goes bike riding in the city

Samantha Armytage is currently enjoying a relaxing holiday in London after filming The Golden Bachelor. But the Channel Nine host, 45, committed a dangerous act as she explored the city on Tuesday. Samantha shared a video to Instagram as she rode a bike through a park but she wasn't wearing a helmet. The TV star also revealed how she almost fell off the bike, captioning the post: 'Both hands on the wheel! Nearly fell off.' In the video, Samantha laughed as she turned the camera to reveal her scenic surroundings while on the bike. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The trip comes after Samantha was recently busy filming The Golden Bachelor. Cameras have officially started rolling on the Channel Nine dating show for older, single romantics looking for a second shot at love. Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed Barry 'Bear' Myrden, a 50-something infrastructure engineer and passionate sailor from Sydney, has been handpicked as the leading man for the upcoming Australian adaptation. In exclusive pictures, Barry was seen filming the show in Sydney in March, and his cast of leading ladies have since been spotted arriving at the Sydney mansion where filming will take place. Barry, a father-of-three and a respected professional in the tech industry, currently works in Data Centre Management for Woolworths Group. With decades of experience in his field, he has held senior roles at major companies like Macquarie Bank and the NSW Port Authority. But while his career has flourished, sources close to Daily Mail Australia revealed his personal journey has been marked by tragedy as Barry is is widowed. 'Bear is always complaining that his boys are saying that he is bringing around the wrong kind of girls that are just too young and hot for him,' one friend revealed. 'We were always saying that he needs to be put on a show like MAFS, so seeing him up for the Bachelor role is no surprise.' Despite his corporate background, Barry is far from your typical office-bound executive. A passionate sailor, he has competed in high-profile races like the Sydney to Hobart. In one photo captured during one of his recent sailing ventures, Barry looked handsome and rugged as he manned a yacht. Unlike The Bachelor and The Bachelorette which feature young men and women, the Golden Bachelor is targeted at a more mature audience eager to watch how those who have already experienced great love and loss are chasing companionship in their next chapter. 'Bear is not your usual reality TV type,' an insider told Daily Mail Australia. 'He's charming, intelligent and has really lived a full life. He's been through love, loss and now he's ready to open his heart again. Women are going to adore him.' Local fans of the The Golden Bachelor have been calling for an Australian version since the US version premiered last year to critical acclaim. Producers are keeping tight-lipped about the contestants vying for Barry's heart, but if the US series is anything to go by the show promises to deliver a mix of heartwarming moments, deep connections and unexpected twists.

Netflix star left in agony with broken leg after terrifying bike accident

NETFLIX and Skins star Sebastian de Souza has shared photos from his hospital bed after getting into a serious bike accident. The 32-year-old actor – who has appeared in The Life List, Medici, Normal People and The Great – posted his update via his Instagram account. 7 7 Despite the nasty injury, breaking his leg, Sebastian made light of the situation, posing in his bed and later down the pub with a pint, while still in his medical gown. He wrote: 'New Hair! New Normal! Dear Souzles, forgive the radio silence! Three weeks ago I broke my leg falling off my bike.' He credited 'very very kind people' who helped get him to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, as well as the team who looked after him once at A&E. 'You know who you are and I will never be able to repay you,' he commented. Praising the 'extraordinary team', he said: 'the gorgeous paramedics, doctors, nurses, domestic and administrative staff, all of whom made me feel so welcome and comfortable and safe. 'As it turned out, I had a tibial plateau fracture (more commonly known as bike leg) and needed an operation.' 'St Mary's is one of the best trauma centres on planet earth and so, naturally, there were lots of poor people with injuries far graver than mine queuing up for operations that needed doing quickly, which meant my mangled knee would have to wait a little bit before getting patched up,' he continued. 'And so it was that I ended up spending the most wonderful, inspiring, insightful, love-filled fortnight on St Mary's Valentine Ellis and Zachary Cope wards, waiting for my surgery!' Sebastian noted: 'I have never been treated with such kindness, care, respect, sensitivity and love, nor have I ever seen such professionalism and compassion shown so consistently by anyone to everyone, ever.' 'Thank God for @nhsengland @nhsenglandldn,' he said. 'As far as I'm concerned the NHS is the greatest institution ever invented and should be supported, protected and celebrated at all costs. Forever.' 7 7 Apologising for the long message, Sebastian went on to praise his family and friends for supporting him 'through this fascinating new chapter'. Friends and fans were quick to send the actor their well wishes, with Sarah Parish joking: 'Darling!!! You poor love. I hope you gave your best Leslie Phillips from 'Carry on Nurse'' Another added: 'You 'll bounce back in no time Sending you lots of love' While a fan account for The Life List wrote: 'My sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery to you, beloved Sebastian!' 7 7 7
