Usyk, 38, was preparing to fight Anthony Joshua for the first time and was using a fitness centre owned by one of Chisora's friends.
And he stunned Chisora after revealing he had been swimming non-stop lengths for hours on end.
Chisora, 41, said on SunSport's No Glove Lost show in association with 32Red: "This is why Usyk's so good, because he trains hard.
"You know, I bumped into him the first AJ fight. Walked in there, my guy who owns the place says, 'Usyk's up there.'

"Olympic swimming pool, he's going up and down, up and down up and down. Non stop.

And Chisora - who has remained close friends with Usyk - reckons the masterful Ukrainian is as perfect as a fighter can be.
He said: 'Daniel has to walk into Wembley Stadium and just become a demon. And just go with that. Don't even doubt yourself, just go with it.
'But, let's be honest. These Europeans are different from us English. We are mummy's boys and those guys are real men.

Katie Taylor's dad CONFIRMS legendary daughter's relationship status after pics emerge of her wearing ‘wedding ring'

He said: "Ever since the fight there with Katie, people are seeing the two of us back together, even some of the s*** you hear about that. "I was reading somewhere that Katie Taylor never got married because of her father, he wouldn't let her. "Katie's married, you know, and I'm thinking, 'where are you getting this s*** from?'" Dad and daughter reunited to work together in the lead-up to the 39-year-old's sensational trilogy win over Amanda Serrano on July 11. Pete had coached her during her amateur career, peaking with her winning an Olympic gold medal in London in 2012. However, they parted ways after Pete split from Katie's mum Bridget. Taylor controversially lost her title at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and turned pro later that year, and has been trained by Ross Enamait ever since. In an exclusive interview with the Irish Sun a week on from her victory over the Puerto Rican, Pete sought to dispel preconceptions concerning their relationship. He said: "We posted online that we were training together, but we were still very close. I was still over visiting her. Pete Taylor opens up on training with Katie Taylor "This is a media thing that me and Katie got back together for the fight. It's not true. "We've always been close, and we've been talking for the last five or six years. It was just that I didn't get involved in the training. "We were always talking boxing. That's just natural. When I call over to her, we go to the gym together. "She just asked me to help out in this camp, and that was it - but it wasn't that we rekindled this relationship. "We were close all the time. "People love these stories. I think they must have boring lives or something, because they're so interested in other people's lives. "I don't post anything about my own personal life on Instagram. Katie's the same, and then, when we put it up, you could say it went viral. "We've always been close. I was actually shocked that it went so viral, to tell you the truth."

Zharnel Hughes lays down challenge to Team GB team-mate: 'Just so he can shut up'

Zharnel Hughes wants to race Matthew Hudson-Smith over 300m for British bragging rights as sprint star says athletics needs to lean into head-to-head battles to win over new fans Zharnel Hughes says athletics must take a page from boxing's book when it comes to hyping up rivalries and Britain's fastest man is already preparing to land a knockout blow on Matthew Hudson-Smith. ‌ The 100m and 200m national record holder and 400m Olympic medallist Hudson-Smith have spent months challenging each other to a duel over 300m. But as track and field faces an uphill battle to win over new audiences, Hughes is convinced two of the country's best facing off would 'bring the excitement.' He even wants a pre-race square off - just as pugilists would during their weigh-in. ‌ 'I'm done with the talking about it, I really want to make it happen,' says Hughes before Saturday's British Championships at Alexander Stadium. 'If we were to have a preview like in boxing where you step up like on a weight scale, you go in each other's faces; you might have a little bit of backlash at each other. ‌ 'It would be pretty cool if someone could pick it up and be like, 'Okay, seeing that you guys have been talking about it for quite some time, let's make this happen.' 'See where it goes from there. I would actually like it to be in Birmingham. That's where he is from. Let's compete in Birmingham – just so he can shut up.' Hughes says 'the only thing that's holding us back' is a meet organiser willing to host the battle. But he knows there is a growing responsibility for athletes to put themselves out there, adding: 'You have to be in the faces of people if you want their attention.' As for how he thinks the race would go, in the sprinter's view there can only be one winner. 'I'd beat Matt. He would tell you, 'I'll beat Zharnel'. I will beat Matt, that's for sure. I know he wanted the lane arrangement to be I'm in lane seven, he is in lane six. 'I will definitely blast out, get myself ahead of him, he will be there. I have a quicker 200m than him. So I will separate a little bit from him. But he will start to close down the latter part of the race, that I know for sure. ‌ 'The last 30m are where I will hit the lactic wall and him being a 400m athlete will start to come through stronger than I will. It's just for me to race in the last 30 metres.' Hughes' assessment of this evening's competition over the 100m, which includes world indoor 60m champion Jeremiah Azu, is less detailed though with a place in next month's World Championships in Tokyo at stake ‌ 'I'm not focused on them,' he adds. 'If I focus on my craft and try to better what I'm trying to fix in each race, that's what matters to me. 'Obviously there will be competition but I know for a fact that I'll be showing up healthy and ready to compete and giving my best. I try not to let it consume me. At the end of the day, I want to go into the trials relaxed. Because you don't want to be going in there too tense. 'It causes too much pressure on yourself. There's too much weight on your shoulders. You don't need that when you're going into a high, intense competition already. I'm looking forward to just going through the rounds and managing the finals and do what I need to do – and that is to secure my win.'

‘Dreadful.. why change?' – Football fans moan as Sky Sports unveil new scoreline graphic as 2025-26 kicks off at Luton

FANS have slammed Sky Sports' new scoreline graphic as the 2025-26 season got underway. The first fixture of the new campaign saw Luton face AFC Wimbledon in League One tonight. 2 But football's return to TV screens was ruined for some by the new look score graphic. Sky Sports have ditched the simple abbreviations they used for all EFL matches. And they have replaced it with a design similar to the one in place for Premier League games. Club badges are now included with the team's abbreviation below. A new font is also in use for the words and the time. The Sun is your go to destination for the best football, boxing and MMA news, real-life stories, jaw-dropping pictures and must-see video.
