Eddie Hall destroys Mariusz Pudzianowski in just 30 SECONDS to win on MMA debut
Former World Strongest man Eddie Hall defeated strongman and MMA legend Marius Pudzianowski in the opening round of the bout on Saturday evening as he competed in KSW for the first time
Eddie Hall took just 30 seconds to brutally beat five-times World Strongest Man and KSW heavyweight star Marius Pudzianowski. The Beast hurt his Polish opponent with the very first punch before pouring a flurry of shots over the 48-year-old to claim a quick victory, though he has claimed to have broken his hand.
Hall came into the bout with no experience of elite mixed martial arts while Pudzianowski owned a record of 17-10 having entered the sport in 2009. The 37-year-old Hall carried a 30kg (4.72 stone) weight advantage coming into the fight, tipping the scales at 151.3 kg (23.8 stone).
The clash was set to last two four-minute rounds, with the length each set to work in Pudzianowski's favour but Hall wasted little time in getting to work. The Staffordshire-born fighter cracked his opponent with his opening shot and Pudzianowski could do little but go for a takedown as the Brit poured down punches before throwing him off.
The novice went on to jump on the veteran and all's hammering punches saw Pudzianowski turtle before the referee stepped in. The Beast was soon raising his hands in the air as his barrage was stopped.
"Shocked myself to be honest," said Hall following the fight. "Mariusz is a formidable opponent, but like I said, I've got the hardest punch on the planet."
Hall, who won World's Strongest Man in 2017 and was the first person to complete a 500kg deadlift in 2016, has no aspirations of reaching the highest levels of MMA however. Instead he wants to take on other giants or introduce interesting stipulations into his bouts.
'If the rematch is there, I'll take it," he said. 'I've got no aspirations to be number one in KSW. That's just not for me.
'I want to come and have fun. I want to fight my heroes. I want to fight the freaks of the world.'
In his first MMA outing, Hall defeated TikTok famous Neffati Brothers in a 2v1 one fight in the World Freak Fight League, in Blackburn. The fighter scored a knockout victory on that occasion too.
And Hall has previously suggested he would love to take on another pair of famous siblings. The Beast would be more than prepared to take on Jake and Logan Paul.
" Jake Paul and Logan Paul, I'd love to get them in a cage together," he said earlier this year. "I think it would be very uneven, 100 per cent [I would kick their a–], powerbomb, smack them straight across the jaw. That's it."

Lando Norris to have showdown McLaren meeting after Oscar Piastri crash
Lando Norris collided with team-mate Oscar Piastri as they fought for fourth place in the closing laps of Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix and the Brit has accepted full responsibility for a coming together Lando Norris has been warned to expect 'tough conversations' by McLaren – after team principal Andrea Stella conceded the British driver's confidence will have been dented by his crash with Oscar Piastri. Norris collided with team-mate Piastri as they fought for fourth place in the closing laps of Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix. Norris accepted full responsibility for a coming together he said made him look foolish and leaves him 22 points behind Piastri in the battle for the drivers' title. Norris retired from the race while Piastri was able to take the chequered flag. 'This may have an impact in terms of his confidence,' said Stella. 'We will have conversations, and the conversations may even be tough, but there's no doubt over the support we give to Lando and over the fact that we will preserve our parity and equality in terms of how we go racing at McLaren between our two drivers. 'The situation would have been different if Lando did not take responsibility and apologise. Lando will have to show his character to overcome this kind of episode and make sure that he only takes the learnings to become a stronger driver.' Norris was already on the backfoot heading into Sunday's race following two mistakes in qualifying which left him seventh on the grid. He drove well to bring himself back into contention only to misjudge the move on Piastri which again raises questions over his credentials as a legitimate championship contender. Nico Rosberg, who competed against Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for three seasons – eventually beating the British driver to the world title in what would prove his final act in the sport in 2016 – believes Norris is facing a dark period. Reflecting on his own mental battles as he duelled for the title, Rosberg told Sky Sports: 'It becomes a little bit traumatic because you start spiralling negatively down and down, and you get this repetition of, 'I'm making mistakes, and I'm not good enough,' and it starts to get to you in your head. 'It can get really dark, and I've been through this, especially when you make a mistake like today where everybody can see it, you even hit your team-mate, so your whole team is thinking, 'What's going on?' It will be difficult for Lando to get back out of that.' Norris will be back in action a week on Sunday in Austria for the 11th round of 24. But despite his latest setback, he said: 'There are plenty more races left. I don't expect to catch Oscar easily. I have to work hard for it and make less mistakes than I did this weekend.'

Newly-promoted Premier League side keen to sign unwanted £30m Chelsea star
A newly-promoted Premier League side are interested in signing a Chelsea star who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge after just one season. It's already been a busy summer for Chelsea who bought three new players – Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr – ahead of their participation in the Club World Cup. Their opening game at the revamped tournament is against Los Angeles FC in Atlanta on Monday night. More incomings are expected, with Enzo Maresca stating his intent to sign a new winger after Jadon Sancho's loan from Manchester United was not made permanent. However, the Blues also need to offload many unwanted stars, with up to 15 members of the squad reportedly up for sale. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link we'll send you so we can get football news tailored to you. Several of these players were not named in Chelsea's Club World Cup squad but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was, though it seems unlikely that the midfielder will feature much in the USA. Dewsbury-Hall followed Maresca from Leicester to west London last summer in a £30million transfer after starring for the Foxes in the championship. However, amid strong competition for the No.10 role in the team, the 25-year-old scarcely featured, making just two starts and playing only 258 minutes in the Premier League. He was a regular in the Conference League, making seven goal contributions in 13 games, but was only used as a late sub in the final win over Real Betis. More Trending Linked with a transfer exit as early as January, it is expected that the Englishman will leave this summer in search of game time and a possible destination has opened up for him. According to The Telegraph, Scott Parker is keen on bolstering Burnley's midfield with Dewsbury-Hall one option he is interested in. Fulham's Harrison Reed and Brentford's Yegor Yarmolyuk are also on the shortlist with the Clarets making moves in the transfer market as they look to avoid another immediate relegation back to the Championship. It is not known how much Dewsbury-Hall could cost or whether he would be allowed to leave on loan and he still has four years left on a £80,000-a-week contract. Chelsea icon John Obi Mikel rates Dewsbury-Hall but believes he is not of the calibre to play for the Blues and says a transfer would be best for both player and club: 'He did well in the Championship with Leicester, but this is Chelsea Football Club. 'He needs to go somewhere he can play and improve. Is he a good player? Yes. Is he a Chelsea player? Definitely not.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. JJ Spaun's 'awkward' moment with wife after US Open win as fans say same thing
JJ Spaun won the U.S. Open at Oakmont on Sunday to capture his first career major, but eagle-eyed fans noticed an 'awkward' moment between the golfer and his wife Eagle-eyed fans spotted an "awkward" moment between JJ Spaun and his wife, Melody, just after the American golfer clinched the US Open title. On Sunday, Spaun triumphed over torrential rain and tough conditions at Oakmont to win his first major championship. Only three months earlier, he had faced a heartbreaking defeat to Rory McIlory at The Players' Championship, which he used as fuel for his US Open success. After his exhilarating win, Spaun was quick to celebrate with his two daughters and wife. However, several golf enthusiasts noticed that the 34-year-old seemed to snub his spouse during the initial celebrations. "Search 'JJ Spaun wife.' Glad it's not just our living room who all think he and his wife must not be getting along. Man that was awkward," one social media user commented, while another observed: "Oh there's some drama between Spaun and his wife. They didn't even acknowledge each other," reports the Mirror US. Another wrote: "JJ Spaun at no point even acknowledged his wife after winning." Despite this, Spaun did share a kiss with his wife following his victory, but viewers picked up on the apparent coolness between them. Spaun's victory was particularly remarkable given that he bogeyed five of the first six holes in the final round. The Los Angeles-born golfer then rallied, sinking birdies on four of the last nine holes, including an astonishing 64-foot birdie putt on the 18th to clinch the win at 1-under. "I never thought I would be here holding this trophy," Spaun expressed afterwards, overwhelmed with emotion. "I mean, I've always had aspirations and dreams. "But a few months ago, I never knew what my ceiling was. I never knew how good I could be, but I'm just proud that I've been resilient in my career and pushed through a lot of things and just trying to be the best golfer I can be. And, you know, I'm happy to display that today at Oakmont. "I don't think I did keep my composure, honestly, with all the breaks I was getting," he confessed. I was trying to just dig deep, hit some good shots coming in. But honestly, the weather delay we had kind of just changed the whole vibe for the day. [A] similar thing happened to me at The Players. "So this time I kind of leaned on that whole experience where I came back after the delay at The Players and I just kept pushing. "I'm super fortunate to just have a good support system around me and encourage me and support me in ways that a lot of people don't notice," he gratefully added. "So I'm just proud of how I battled, and I'm super proud to be the U.S. Open champion."
