Future & Metro Boomin earned Best Group and Leon Thomas was crowned Best New Artist.
Leon beat out Ayra Starr, BigXthaPlug, Bossman Dlow, Dee Billz, October London, Shaboozey and Teddy Swims for the award.
Thomas began by saying his grandfather always told him, 'music is a team sport,' before thanking God, adding he was, 'the coach of my life.'
He began by saying his grandfather always told him, 'music is a team sport,' before thanking God, adding he was, 'the coach of my life.'
The star also joked, 'My mother, she went on a bathroom break, she didn't get to see me win! But I'll tell you right now, we've been in this together my entire life and I wouldn't be here without you, mom, I love you so much.'
Doechii continued her genre-bending rise with a win for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, in which she used her acceptance speech to address the unrest over ICE raids in Los Angeles.
The 26-year-old Tampa rapper (born Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon) beat out Cardi B, Doja Cat, GloRilla, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, Rapsody and Sexyy Red for the award, during the ceremony.
She took to the stage to accept her award, thanking the BET network, adding, 'This is my first BET Awards, so this means a lot to me.'
'I grew up watching this. I want to acknowledge all of the girls in my category that worked hard, extremely talented and very creative. You ladies are amazing. So, thank you, BET, for honoring me with this,' she added.
She then turned to address the protests in downtown Los Angeles over mass deportations and ICE raids, which President Donald Trump responded to by deploying the National Guard in a controversial move.
'But as much as I'm honored by this award, I do want to address what's happening right now outside of the building,' she said to applause.
'There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of 'Law & order.' Trump is using military forces to stop a protest,' she added.
'I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be one every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us,' she added.
'What type of government is that? People are being swept up and torn from their families, and I feel it's my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people,' she said to more applause.
'For black people. For Latino people, for trans people. For the people in Gaza. We all deserve to live in hope and not in fear. I hope we stand together. My brothers and my sisters, against hate, and we protest against it. Thank you, BET!' she concluded.
GloRilla, Kirk Franklin, and Maverick City Music took home the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for 'Rain Down on Me.'
Heat of a Woman by Summer Walker won the official Bet Her Award.
Jamie Foxx was honoured with the BET Ultimate Icon Award, presented by Stevie Wonder.
'I cannot even begin to express the love that I feel from everybody out there,' Foxx began, adding when he saw the memoriam segment, he realized, 'Man, that could've been me.'
'I don't know why I went through what I went through, but I know my second chance I'm not going to turn down,' Foxx said.
'I have so much love to give. I told him, I said, man, bro, just give me one more crack at this. And I promised, I said whatever reason you put this on me, I promise I'm going to do it right,' Foxx said while choking back tears.
'I don't want to make my whole speech about that, but you can't go through something like that and not testify,' he added.
He concluded by thanking his 14-year-old daughter Anelise Bishop, who when he was sick, 'snuck into my room with her guitar and said I know what you need. And she played the guitar, my vitals dropped and I realized that god was in that guitar, and the nurses ran in and said what did they give him? And my daughter says "Shh, I got him."'
Cynthia Erivo won Best Actress, and Denzel Washington added another trophy to his legendary career as Best Actor.
The fan-favorite biopic Luther: Never Too Much was named Best Movie.
Blue Ivy Carter received the YoungStars Award, a full-circle moment of legacy and promise.
Angel Reese dominated as Sportswoman of the Year, continuing her many streak of wins both on and off the court.
Jalen Hurts earned Sportsman of the Year honors for his performance and leadership in the NFL.

Phil Mickelson row blows up amid LIV Golf ace's mean dig at commentator's family
A certain LIV Golf contender has been embroiled in a war of words with one pundit for more than a year, and the pair have once again taken aim at each other online The feud between Anthony Kim and Brandel Chamblee shows no signs of cooling off. Especially after their latest exchange ahead of this weekend's US Open at Oakmont Country Club. The pair have been at loggerheads several times over the past 12 months and more. Golf Channel analyst Chamblee has been consistent in his criticism of the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League, which Kim joined in 2024 following a 12-year hiatus from the sport due to injuries. Former PGA Tour pro Chamblee has also openly criticised Phil Mickelson, the first high-profile player to defect to LIV. And Mickelson was once again the subject of Chamblee's scathing remarks when a fan questioned if he had watched the recent LIV Virginia event. "I watch, but generally it's like watching a race of boxcars and being told they are F1 race cars," Chamblee responded on X. "The only time anyone seems to pay any attention to LIV is when Mickelson or [former LIV Golf CEO Greg] Norman make insanely idiotic comments about the skill of LIV players. "Phil Mickelson has mastered the public art in which self-righteousness congratulates the celebrator. He and his LIV compatriots, all of them subject to the dramatic irony of having resigned themselves to play purely for money - not for history or for their respective countries - but purely for money, and now present to virtually no purpose, their presence in major championships is likely attended by a sense of urgency, the exact opposite no doubt, of the lack of urgency at LIV events." Kim, 39, couldn't resist a cutting counter and took a personal swipe at Chamblee's family life: "We all can like or dislike whoever we want, but at least Phil Mickelson's kids still talk to him. Have a great US Open, Brandy." That barb was delivered complete with a mocking heart emoji. And it isn't the first time sparks have flown between the pair. Chamblee's repeated takedowns of LIV Golf provoked Kim's ire last year, particularly when the former seemed supportive of a collaboration between the Saudi-backed circuit and the PGA Tour. In response, California-born Kim lashed out with a fiery tweet in May 2024. "Ramble Chamblee @chambleebrandel ur such a p***y 4 beating on ur chest and basically saying never retreat and hypocritically retreat," he wrote. "It is well known this talentless fool is disliked by most people in the golf world. U still gonna cover golf if @livgolf_league is involved?" Chamblee, a one-time PGA Tour victor and former world No. 58, delivered an extensive rebuttal. And he pinpointed a particular irony in Kim's barb. The analyst retorted that Kim's dig was "about as inaccurate as a lot of Mickelson's drives and sadly ironic coming two tweets after you asked for advice on raising your daughter that you would refer to someone as a female body part in a juvenile attempt to denigrate them." Kim, who was critical in the United States' 2008 Ryder Cup win alongside Mickelson, didn't hold back in a subsequent appearance on the Country Club Adjacent podcast. It was there he criticised Chamblee for "over-talking" golf legend David Duval during a Golf Channel discussion about what it's like playing in a Ryder Cup. "How the f*** would you know? Here's David Duval, who was No. 1 in the world and played on multiple Ryder Cup teams, has all these sorts of records, won a million times," said Kim. "You're over-talking him about what it's like and what they're feeling? "If we were talking about, like, what it's like to drive to a Korn Ferry event and miss the cut, we would call you, Brandel. But we don't do that, y'know? We don't do that."

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's ‘rough patch' and ‘tension' ahead of wedding revealed
KATY Perry and Orlando Bloom have recently endured a 'rough patch' with the pair also embroiled in a tense period ahead of their wedding. The couple, who have been engaged since February 2019, welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in August 2020, and have since been planning their wedding. 6 6 6 But despite plans in motion, Katy is said to be "stressed" after her last album launch with "stress" putting strain on the relationship between her and her husband. An insider has told People that the couple have endured a "rough patch" after she was disappointed with the reception for her album 143, which came out last September. "Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album," a source told the outlet. They explained how it made her "very stressed" and despite Orlando being "understanding" it did cause "some tension". A second source then revealed: "She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It's put stress on their relationship." Meanwhile, a source speaking to Us Weekly stated: "They have been spending more and more time apart. "They've grown apart and aren't living the same lives anymore." 'WEDDING DATE NEVER SET' A different insider then told the outlet that despite having been engaged for six years, the two superstars never set a date for their nuptials. The source claimed that they "never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything". They also claimed "Orlando is 'over it'," adding that "things aren't good". The U.S. Sun approached both Katy and Orlando's representatives for comment. Last autumn, ahead of Katy's album launch, things between the pair seemed to be on the right track when they packed on PDA at the MTV VMAs. Orlando announced Katy by her real name as he presented her with the iconic Vanguard award at the ceremony on September 12. Fans were stunned when Orlando, whom Katy has been in a relationship with since 2016, announced the winner of the award as Katheryn Hudson. Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom's Relationship Timeline Fans have followed Katy and Orlando's relationship since it began in 2016. Here's a breakdown of their romance. The lovebirds met in January 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty. That May, the pair made their relationship Instagram official. Katy and Orlando broke up in February 2017, which their reps confirmed after fans noticed they kept their distance at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. They reunited a year later on vacation in Prague. In September 2018, the duo made their red carpet debut at the Gala for the Global Ocean at the Opera of Monte-Carlo in Monaco. Orlando popped the question on Valentine's Day the following year. In March 2019, Orlando revealed he sold his home and had moved in with Katy. In March 2020, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, whom they welcomed on August 26. Shortly before their daughter Daisy Dove's second birthday, Katy teased that she wanted to have more children with her fiance. In May 2024, Katy had fans convinced she was pregnant again when she posted a photo of her holding a positive pregnancy test. She followed with throwback photos and videos of her sharing the news of her first pregnancy. GUSHING SPEECH AND PDA "Give it up for our newest Video Vanguard, Katheryn Hudson," Orlando said when presenting the award in the UBS Arena last fall. Orlando sweetly referenced the singer's birth name, before adding, "Katy Perry!" He then added, "You fell in love with her as Katy Perry, I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson. "You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor into every song she writes and every music video she creates. "I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same love and joy to our family," he went on. Not only did he give a gushing and glowing speech about his wife-to-be, but they even embraced on-stage and shared a very public smooch, too. 6 6 6
