Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd's Relationship Timeline

Cosmopolitan2 days ago
Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd just proved that shooting your shot is, indeed, worth it. In case you somehow missed all the signs, the former UConn basketball teammates confirmed their friendship turned into something more with some subtle social media posts—and we couldn't be more obsessed.
The WNBA stars are the true embodiment of the best friends-to-lovers trope we all know and love. They met as teens when they were both trying out for point guard on the USA Basketball U16 team, and over the years, their chemistry has gone from courtside to heart-eyes.
Can't get enough of these two? Same. That's why we've put together Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd's full relationship timeline for your scrolling pleasure.
According to The UConn Blog, Paige and Azzi first met when they were teenagers trying out for a USA Basketball team at summer camp. At the time, Azzi described Paige as 'this skinny little white girl' on the court. 'I watched her play and I was like, 'Oh, I have nothing to worry about this girl,'' Azzi said. 'Like, 'I have a better chance of making it than her.''
After some friendly competition at USA Basketball, the pair formed a bond, and Paige reportedly started visiting Azzi in Washington D.C. to work out together.
While Paige had already secured a spot on the UConn women's basketball team, she supported Azzi and started a social campaign to get her on the team, too. Okay, P.B., we see you.
All of Paige's work recruiting Azzi worked, because she committed to UConn in November 2020.
Shortly after, rumors that they lived together during the COVID-19 pandemic surfaced, thanks to a TikTok of the pair bickering about getting sick.
Azzi and Paige are officially teammates! Paige shared a sweet sentiment about their dynamic on and off the court with The UConn Blog in 2021.
'I think we both hate losing but I think we both hate losing to each other more than anything. So we both want to win, we both want to make each other better,' Paige said. 'I think that works on and off the court as well. I think we're just here to make each other better and give each other opportunities and it'll be fun to go at it in practice but once we get on the same court together and go against other teams, I think that'll be good.'
Consider this Azzi and Paige's social-active era. The pair is constantly posting content with each other across their Instagram and TikTok accounts, including that time they met Steph Curry:
That summer, Azzi shared a Paige appreciation post, too:
The pair pulled up to New York Fashion Week, sitting front row for the WhoDecidesWar fashion show.
They also posed for some adorable snaps during a UConn press day. We leave you with this cuteness...
Paige graced the cover of GQ Hype, and Azzi reflected on when they first met and how Paige supported her committing to UConn.
'This is so on brand for Paige, but she made a little highlight video of herself from her high school games, passing to her teammates and giving them wide-open shots,' Azzi said. 'She presented it to my family and was like, 'You see all these open shots I'm giving to my teammates? That's going to be Azzi [if] she comes to UConn and plays with me.' '
During March Madness—and some of their final moments together as UConn Huskies—Paige and Azzi played a hilarious game of the whisper challenge, which was posted on their socials.
On April 14, Paige was selected as the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Of course, her fellow UConn Husky Azzi was there to support her along the way:
Two days later, Paige spoke to Robin Roberts at Good Morning America about the draft and her uber-impressive basketball career so far. Azzi pulled up to the NYC-based studio with her, where they were photographed outside.
On June 18, Paige dropped 35 points and secured a win during a basketball game—which just so happens to be Azzi's UConn jersey number—hours after wearing a tee with her face on it.
A few days later on June 21, Azzi sneakily soft-launched her relationship with Paige when she posted a mirror selfie with a phone case that read 'Paige Bueckers' Girlfriend.' She also wore her jersey during the Dallas Wings game that day, and they allegedly wore rings featuring each other's birthstones. Cute!
A fan caught footage of the duo holding hands after Paige competed in a Dallas Wings vs. Phoenix Mercury game...
...while another asked the athlete for an autograph on a sign that read 'Azzi Fudd's girlfriend, sign here.' Spoiler alert: Paige fully dropped her signature, subtly confirming her relationship status.
Then, ahead of WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, Paige correctly answered a series of questions about her 'D1 Girlfriend' in a game with Wag Talk, including the name of the high school she went to, the year she was named Gatorade Player of the Year, her ranking in the class of 2021, and the basketball player she was named after.
Paige was also cheekily asked what Azzi's phone case says, and when she was later asked to reveal the name of her 'D1 Girlfriend,' she confirmed the romance rumors by simply saying, 'Azzi Fudd.' Help, we can't stop smiling!
Ofc, Azzi supported Paige as she helped guide Team Napheesa Collier to a 151–131 win over Team Caitlin Clark in Indianapolis...and according to this cute clip from ESPN, the pair looked fab as ever.
Finally, on July 17, Paige dropped this gem in an IG dump, clearing up any remaining doubt about her relationship status.
That's all for now on these two! We'll dribble some more details in here as soon as they come.

A.J. Brown again admits that Super Bowl glory still feels hollow

A.J. Brown again makes it clear. Super Bowl glory just simply wasn't enough Remember when the Seattle Seahawks outlasted the San Francisco 49ers in the 2013 NFC Championship game? Remember when Erin Andrews put that microphone in Richard Sherman's face a few minutes later and he bellowed something about Michael Crabtree being a "sorry receiver"? Some people didn't know how to take that, Philadelphia Eagles fans included. Can we be honest here? Buckle up because here's some brutal honesty. No one should have been upset at Sherman for what he said. Statements like his are what you will sometimes get when you shove a mic in someone's face for his opinion, especially when you do so a few seconds after he spent three hours playing an emotional game that ended as his did. Is it possible that, had he been allowed to calm down, maybe he would have provided a calmer answer? No, this is Richard Sherman. Maybe he wouldn't have, but you get the point. At least you should have. This is what happens when one clamors for continual insider access. Sometimes, you're going to get something you didn't think you asked for. What does this have to do with A.J. Brown? Thank you for the question. We're glad you asked! A.J. Brown reiterates his lack of fulfillment after Super Bowl glory Access... It's a powerful tool, but you have to use it wisely. If you open a social media account, there will be trolls, especially if you use your handle to express your opinions about subjects people care about deeply. They say drunk men tell no lies. That's true, but the statement needs to be amended. Recently, A.J. Brown was interviewed by NFL Network's Judy Batista and Colleen Wolfe after a training camp practice, and while opening up, he restated something he had mentioned months earlier. It didn't take very long for him to revisit the desire to get on the field and compete again. To Batista's question about how much time he took to celebrate and enjoy Super Bowl glory, he offered the following: "(I turned the page) two or three days afterwards. I was so excited to win and to try to fulfill that fulfillment, and it wasn't fulfilling to be honest. Days like these (training camp practices) are fulfilling. It's the process. It's coming out and going to work with your brothers in 95-degree heat, you know, and just really just playing the game, you know? Obviously, we want to win, and we're doing it to win. But, it's a part of the process and the everyday journey. It's the hunt for me." Honestly, can you find fault in anything he said? Guess what? People did. A.J. Brown shared the same sentiment just days after Super Bowl 59 in a now-viral Instagram post. He was criticized. Frankly, we still can't understand why, but that takes us back to the earlier statement about Richard Sherman's famous outburst. If you thirst for behind-the-scenes access and spend your time following people you find interesting, you're sometimes going to discover more than you bargained for. That doesn't make these athletes bad people. It doesn't make them selfish or self-centered. It makes them human. Philadelphia's star wide receiver is a great guy with a great heart. We've never felt anything to the contrary. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, but again, that doesn't have any bearing on his character. Here is how you should handle that if his emotions are a problem for you. Stop following him on X and Instagram because if his emotions make you that angry, that isn't an A.J. Brown problem. Remember... It's social media. It's supposed to be fun. Write that on the tablet of your hearts, and you won't be so irritated. That's just some free advice. Use it wisely. Let's get back to some football.

Once the Largest Greek American Supermarket, Titan Foods Reopens

Titan Foods, once considered the largest Greek supermarket in America, made news when it closed two years ago. Now, the specialty food store is finally reopening Friday, August 1, at its new Queens headquarters at 23-53 Steinway Street, at 23rd Road. The company announced the news on Instagram with the caption: 'Stay calm people!!!' Titan Foods first came to New York in the 1970s by Kostas and Stavroula Mastoras. This isn't the first relocation of the family company; it first moved in 1996, to a 16,000 square-foot space, said to have at least 20 varieties of feta cheese alone. The latest version of Titan Foods is 'a fresh start,' the founder's daughter, Anatoli (Anna) Mastoras, told Eater in 2023, with a 'different setup and a different design.' The family also maintains Titan Bakery in Deer Park, New York, for wholesale orders. — Emma Orlow Two Hell's Kitchen spots are closing Bar Nine (807 Ninth Avenue at 54th Street), Hell's Kitchen's dueling‑piano bar owned by the current operators for 11 years and around for more than 20, closed on Tuesday, July 29, following a final open‑mic night signaling the end of its run in the neighborhood. One of the last places to find a working pay phone, the dive bar was known for its interactive piano shows, when musicians would play songs at the audience's request, reported the W42nd Street blog. The owner has been battling long COVID as well as the rising costs of doing business. Nearby, Noodie's (830 Ninth Avenue, at 54th Street), a Thai mainstay for 11 years, also announced its closure at the end of this month, now that the lease is up. Grammy winner Lucinda Williams is co-owner of a honky-tonk bar The bar formerly called Heaven Can Wait has transformed into Lucinda's Honky Tonk + Juke Joint (169 Avenue A between 10th and 11th streets). The space, once home to other music venues like Coney Island Baby, Lola, and Brownies, is now under the co-ownership of Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams, alongside Laura McCarthy and Kelley Swindall. Lucinda's describes itself as a soulful Southern honky tonk, with programming like live country music Fridays, live-band karaoke Saturdays, and a jukebox packed with country classics. The space is appropriately retro for those craving wood-paneling, old signs, and checkerboard-tile linoleum floors. Those events took place in 2013 and 2014. From there, it has been great performance after great performance.
