Four teen girls were arrested and charged after two women were robbed and assaulted on a Saskatoon transit bus. At around 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 31, police responded to a report of a fight on a bus parked in the 3500 block of 8th Street East, Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said. Arriving officers found that four females had boarded the bus and assaulted two women, stealing several items from them. One victim was struck with a large portable speaker. Police say both victims sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. The suspects were later arrested at a nearby home. Three girls, ages 14, 15, and 16, each face two counts of robbery and assault, and the fourth girl, 14, is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, and two counts of robbery.

South Edmonton crash involved e-scooter: police

A man is in the hospital after his personal e-scooter was struck by an SUV at an intersection in the Pleasantview area. On Thursday around 3 p.m., a westbound Dodge Durango was turning left on 51 Avenue and 106 Street when a man on an e-scooter entered the intersection against the red light and crossed in front of the SUV. The e-scooter driver, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Police say he is now in stable condition and the SUV driver, a 38-year-old woman, was not hurt. The intersection was closed for a few hours on Thursday. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
