Shares of Godrej Properties rose after the company announced its foray into Raipur with the acquisition of approximately 50 acres of land. The project will primarily feature premium plotted residential units, with an estimated saleable area of around 9.5 lakh square feet.
The land is strategically located near Old Dhamtari Road, an emerging real estate hotspot with excellent connectivity to Central Raipur, the railway station, and Swami Vivekananda Airport, the company revealed in a statement.
The region is witnessing rapid urbanisation, supported by strong social infrastructure, including top educational institutions, healthcare, and retail facilities.

This acquisition marks another significant step in our expansion journey as we look to strengthen our presence in emerging real estate markets across India. Raipur, with its growing demand for residential plotted developments and strong infrastructure growth, presents an exciting opportunity. Best stocks to buy today, as recommended by Raja Venkatraman for 28 July
A constant turbulence held its grip on the markets as there was no clarity on the indices. The stock-specific action that we were noticing has now stepped up, leading to the trading-oriented behaviour. The market scenario clearly indicates that investors are still waiting by the sidelines. Here are three stocks to buy or sell, as recommended by Raja Venkatraman of NeoTrader for Monday, 28 July. Best stocks to buy today—28 July PUNJABCHEM: Buy CMP and dips to ₹1,260 | Stop: ₹1,250 | Target: ₹1,460-1,520 AUTOAXLES: Buy CMP and dips to ₹1,860 |Stop: ₹1,845 | Target: ₹2,075-2,130 GREENPANEL: Buy CMP and dips to ₹302 | Stop: ₹298 | Target: ₹355-370 The stock market on Friday, 25 July Benchmark equity indices tumbled on Friday as growing uncertainty over the prospective India-US trade deal, with an 1 August deadline looming, dented market sentiment. By 11:30 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 81,692.58, down 491 points, or 0.60%, having earlier slumped to an intraday low of 81,405.83—a drop of 778 points. The NSE Nifty followed suit, slipping below the 24,900 level to trade at around 24,930, off 169 points, or 0.68%, and hitting an early low of 24,806.35. Within the Sensex pack, only Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, and Tata Consultancy Services managed modest gains, while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Zomato, PowerGrid, and Infosys featured among the day's worst performers. Broader markets witnessed a steeper decline: the Nifty Midcap 100 fell 1.12% to 58,303.25, and the Nifty Smallcap index slid 1.53% to 18,400.60. With the trade-deal deadline drawing near, investors are adopting a cautious stance, awaiting clarity on tariff negotiations. Outlook for trading Despite the best intention to revive from lower levels the trends have been very fragile. Repeated attempts to head higher have been met with supplies, which is preventing a possible revival. The inability of the market trends to clearly hold on to indicate any direction has forced us to take a retreat as far as the bullish trends are concerned. The intermittent stock-specific action is not able to drive up sufficient momentum. We are noting that the trends are extremely pressured and this could lead to some sustained selling pressure in the coming week. As we now enter the expiry week the focus is shifting to the rollover activity that shall attract some buildup as anticipation for a recovery steps up. Now, we could shift our attention to upcoming corporate earnings in the coming month to help the prices rebound. Until then, there is no specific trigger. Higher timeframe charts are clearly indicating that the trends are now caught in a bearish overhang, especially the Nifty, which could push the market to close the current series below 25,000. The sharp rise seen in June came to an abrupt end since the start of the July series. Since then, the broader indices are making heavy weather about the recovery. As we wrap up this series, trends are not consistent and we are now moving in a neutral-to-negative setup. The bias, though muted, is still trying to salvage the bullish bias. The Open Interest is signalling that the PCR continues to be above 1 for Nifty, indicating that there is a strong defence of lower levels, and 25,000, which is the maximum pain point, will definitely be under contention. We have a huge short build-up of Puts at 25,000, which continues to highlight the defence against the selling pressure that persists at the moment. Some encouraging signs of global cues not giving up could help stem the pressure to go past 25,000, which has now turned into a resistance zone as we head into the current week. As no clarity exists even at this juncture, one should refrain from limiting short position at current levels or on rally towards 25,200 as the momentum is clearly divided. Three stocks to trade, recommended by NeoTrader's Raja Venkatraman PUNJABCHEM: Buy CMP and dips to ₹1,260 | Stop: ₹1,250 | Target: ₹1,460-1,520 AUTOAXLES: Buy CMP and dips to ₹1,860 |Stop: ₹1,845 | Target: ₹2,075-2,130 GREENPANEL: Buy CMP and dips to ₹302 | Stop: ₹298 | Target: ₹355-370 Raja Venkatraman is co-founder, NeoTrader. Top three stocks to buy today—recommended by Ankush Bajaj for 28 July
On Friday, the Indian stock market closed on a weak note, witnessing broad-based selling across major indices. Investors remained cautious amid weak global cues, valuation concerns, and ongoing foreign institutional outflows. The session extended the recent corrective phase, with all benchmark indices finishing deep in the red. With Nifty breaking below the previous low and all key short-term averages, the outlook has turned bearish. The index now targets 24,500–24,450 on the downside, while any bounce toward 24,900–25,000 is likely to face selling pressure. Resistance is now established at 25,000–25,100, while support lies around 24,500–24,450. Buy: ETERNAL LTD — Current Price: ₹310.55 Also Read: Zomato surges past DMart in market value on Blinkit-fueled share rally Buy: FORTIS HEALTHCARE LTD — Current Price: ₹845.55 Buy: SYNGENE INTERNATIONAL LTD — Current Price: ₹681.10 Also Read: Biocon launches QIP to raise ₹4,500 crore Market Wrap On Friday, 25 July 2025, the Indian stock market closed on a weak note, witnessing broad-based selling across major indices. Investors remained cautious amid weak global cues, valuation concerns, and ongoing foreign institutional outflows. The session extended the recent corrective phase, with all benchmark indices finishing deep in the red. The Nifty 50 declined sharply by 225.10 points or 0.90%, closing at 24,837.00. The BSE Sensex also dropped by 721.08 points or 0.88%, ending at 81,463.09. The Bank Nifty mirrored the broader trend, falling by nearly 0.9% to settle around 56,566 after slipping below key support zones during intraday trade. Sector-wise, the losses were widespread, with oil & gas, metals, PSU banks, and auto sectors leading the fall. The energy and auto indices each lost over 2%, while metals and PSU banks were down by around 1.7%. Other sectors like IT, FMCG, private banks, and realty also closed lower, each shedding between 1% and 1.4%. The only pocket of resilience came from the pharma sector, which gained around 0.5%, supported by defensive buying amid heightened volatility. On the stock front, Cipla stood out as a top gainer, rallying nearly 3% after strong quarterly earnings and positive guidance. Dr. Reddy's, SBI Life Insurance, Apollo Hospitals, and Mphasis also saw notable gains, buoyed by buying interest in defensive and healthcare-related stocks. Conversely, Bajaj Finance led the list of laggards, falling by nearly 6% amid investor concerns over valuations and asset quality pressures, despite reporting solid earnings. Shriram Finance, IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra, and Maruti Suzuki also ended the day with losses in the range of 2.4% to 2.8%. Chennai Petroleum was among the worst performers, plunging nearly 9% in a sharp reversal. The broader market sentiment remained fragile, with midcap and smallcap indices also coming under pressure. The Nifty Midcap 100 declined by around 1.6%, while the Smallcap index fell by more than 2%, as profit booking intensified in high-beta names. The rotation away from cyclical and export-oriented stocks toward defensives continued, reflecting a cautious stance among investors. Overall, Friday's session reinforced the short-term corrective phase in the market. With benchmark indices breaking below key support levels, the outlook remains cautious. However, the positive performance in the pharma space suggests selective stock-specific opportunities may still exist even in a weak market environment. Nifty Technical Analysis From a technical standpoint, the index is now trading below both the 40-day EMA (25,041) and the 20-day SMA (25,259), reflecting a shift in the short-term trend toward weakness. On the hourly chart, Nifty is hovering near the 20-hour SMA (25,037) and 40-hour EMA (25,035), but with the price closing well below these levels, short-term momentum appears firmly negative. Momentum indicators have deteriorated considerably. The daily RSI has declined to 40.65, moving closer to the oversold territory, indicating weakening underlying strength. The hourly RSI stands at 27, clearly in the oversold zone, suggesting potential for minor intraday bounces, though the broader trend remains under pressure. The MACD readings have turned negative, with the daily MACD at –19 and the hourly MACD falling to –44, confirming a bearish crossover and signaling continued downside momentum. The broader chart pattern confirms the breakdown of the previous support level at 24,882, invalidating the earlier bullish setup and shifting the short-term structure to bearish. With the index failing to hold above key moving averages and lacking any reversal signal, the near-term downside target is seen around 24,500–24,450. In the derivatives space, the options data reflects a decisively bearish bias. Total Call open interest stands at 2.43 crore, significantly higher than the Put OI of 1.64 crore, with a net difference of –78.55 lakh, clearly indicating call writing dominance. Further, the change in OI reinforces this stance, with Call OI increasing by 38.95 lakh and Put OI decreasing by 6.79 lakh, leading to a net change of –45.74 lakh. This aggressive call buildup and put unwinding suggest a buildup of bearish sentiment. The Put-Call Ratio (PCR) has deteriorated and remains below 1, affirming the negative bias. Strike-wise, maximum Call OI and change are concentrated at 25,700, while aggressive additions are also visible at 26,500, pointing to elevated resistance levels. On the Put side, maximum OI is at 25,600, and the highest additions are at 25,620, but the reduction in overall Put OI reflects diminishing bullish conviction. India VIX remained relatively stable, but the breakdown in price without a corresponding spike in volatility may indicate complacency among participants, keeping the risk of sharp moves alive should selling intensify. With Nifty decisively breaking below the previous swing low and all key short-term averages, the outlook has turned decisively bearish. The index now targets 24,500–24,450 on the downside, while any bounce toward 24,900–25,000 is likely to face selling pressure. Resistance is now firmly established at 25,000–25,100, while support lies around 24,500–24,450. Momentum indicators and derivatives data confirm bearish control. Until the index reclaims 25,100–25,324 decisively, the short-term bias will remain negative. Traders are advised to maintain a bearish stance, use rallies to initiate fresh shorts, and keep tight stop-losses above 25,100 to protect against potential whipsaws. Best ways to invest in gold that hit record highs in H1
Gold, which has never ceased to be the safe-haven asset so far, has gained 26% in the first half of 2025 becoming one of the top-performing major asset classes. The precious metal has scaled 26 new all-time highs during this period in global markets—including once crossing the sensitive Rs 1 lakh/10 grams mark in the domestic markets when the metal crossed $3,500/ounce-mark in the third week of April. This 26 new life-time highs came in after breaking through a 40-new-record streaks in 2024 when it had rallied 24% over a 22% rally in the previous year. What makes the metal so alluring to investors? There are many a reason, with the shining allure it has for women as a jewellery (our households are sitting over close to 26,000 tonnes of gold in jewellery alone) and its ready fungibility/encashability when in need of ready cash being the top reasons for its allurement. Let's look at some of the best ways to invest in this metal, even though investment experts recommend allocating only a small portion (5–10%) of your portfolio to precious metals. According to the World Gold Council, a combination of a weaker US dollar, range-bound interest rates and a highly uncertain geo-economic environment has resulted in strong investment demand for gold. Another equally important driver is the continuing central bank demands led by the Reserve Bank and the central bank of China among others. The council sees at least 5% more spike in prices during the course of the year and 10-15% more if current volatile economic conditions deteriorate further exacerbating stagflationary pressures—that's the metal reaching $3,840/ounce by end December and translating into an annual return of 40%. But many Wall Street watchers have predicted the metal hitting the $4,000/ounce mark by December. Experts recommend allocating only a small portion, say 5–10% of your investment portfolio to precious metals, including silver and the following are the best ways to take exposure to this metal. The easiest way is investing in sovereign gold bonds (SGBs) launched in 2015, but since last year the SGBs have been discontinued. Starting 2015, the RBI had launched 67 SGB tranches-- each being an eight-year instrument with a five-year lock-in--issuing 14.7 crore units. They were listed and traded in the cash segment of the BSE and the NSE and investors could buy and sell them through demat accounts. Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) Given that no new SGBs are being issued, the best option available to own non-physical gold is to go in for gold ETFs which track the domestic physical prices of the metal. Each gold ETF unit represents the physical gold and is based on gold prices and invest in physical bullion. One gold ETF unit equals 1 gram of gold, backed by high-purity physical metal. Why ETFs? Because they are safe and have higher liquidity as they are listed and are traded every day. Though, there are brokerage charges they are way less than the making charges on physical jewellery. The expense ratio in gold ETFs is also lower than that of gold MFs. On the negative side, since ETFs track the price of gold, they are subject to volatility. To invest in an ETF, one needs to have a demat account. There are entry and exit loads and the investor has to pay brokerage every time. Gold Mutual Funds Gold mutual funds are open-ended funds that invest in the units of a gold ETF with the ultimate goal of creating wealth using the potential of gold as a commodity. Gold MF units are priced differently-- in the form of net asset value disclosed at the end of the trading session—as opposed to gold ETFs which are linked to physical prices. Since gold MFs are actively managed, they have the potential to outperform the metal price over time. They also offer the convenience of investing through a fund house. On the negatives, gold MFs take a higher expense ratio than ETFs, typically around 1-2% apart from the risk of underperformance-- the return can be lower than gold price over time. In comparison to gold ETFs, gold MFs have low minimum investment requirements, making them more accessible for retail investors. Also, you don't need a demat account to invest in this form of gold.
