Ingredients
To make this simple bread kunafa at home, you'll need a few basic ingredients.
2 slices of bread(or 250 gms if you are using breadcrumbs)
1 slice of processed cheese or roughly 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup (about 100 grams) of melted butter
Sugar Syrup made from equal parts sugar and water (1/2 cup each) + 1 tsp lemon juice
Dry fruits for garnishing
170g thick cream or fresh cream
A dash of rose water or orange blossom water
Crushed thin vermicelli or coarse kunafa dough (about 1/2 cup)
How to make the viral bread kunafa
Start by combining sugar and water in a pan.
Bring to a boil and let it simmer until slightly thickened, around 5 minutes should do. Add lemon juice at this stage. If you like, stir in a little rose water or orange blossom water for aroma. Set it aside to cool.
There are two ways to go here. If you're using sliced bread, trim off the crusts. For breadcrumbs, pulse the bread in a food processor until fine.
If you're using breadcrumbs, combine them with the melted butter or ghee until well-coated and slightly clumpy.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (around 356°F) for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Govt to start safe septic tank cleaning drive from Aug 15
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure safety of sanitation workers, the housing and urban development department has decided to launch a comprehensive awareness drive on safe septic tank cleaning across the state starting Aug 15. Announcing this on its social media handle X (formerly Twitter), the urban development department stated that it will be a 15-day long IEC campaign, which will cover all 115 urban local bodies of the state. "A 15-day IEC campaign on safe septic tank cleaning will be launched across all ULBs from August 15. Koradi Temple Rear Gate Slab Crashes, 17 Labourers Injured
1 2 Nagpur: The under-construction slab of the rear gate of Koradi temple crashed late Saturday, injuring 17 labourers, who were extricated from the rubble and rushed to hospital. Though there were no casualties, the accident sent shockwaves through the city's key pilgrimage centre, which was being redeveloped by Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA). The development agency's commissioner Sanjay Meena said, an inquiry will be conducted and action taken against the contractor, if found guilty. The crash happened on the temple's rear side, which has been cordoned off and is currently inaccessible to devotees. Officials said, at least 15 workers were atop the scaffolding when it gave way. Rescue operations were launched swiftly with teams from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), city police, fire brigade, revenue department, and NMRDA pressed into service. Nagpur collector Vipin Itankar confirmed 17 workers sustained injuries and nobody died. "We are following protocols of rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation," he told reporters at the spot. Lesser Florican faces near extinction in Raj grasslands
Jaipur: Lesser Florican (Sypheotides indicus), once a vibrant emblem of Rajasthan's monsoon grasslands, has now almost vanished from its core breeding grounds in Ajmer, Kekri and Shahpura. This breeding season, wildlife researchers found only a single male, a steep fall from five in 2024 and 39 in 2020, signalling a catastrophic 97% decline in the wild. A recent landscape survey by the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) confirmed the grim numbers. The lone male, belonging to the smallest member of the bustard family and locally called Kharmor, was spotted near Bandanwara. "The situation is alarming. These endemic birds return to Rajasthan every monsoon to breed, usually arriving by late June after crops are sown. This year, only one was recorded," said BNHS researcher and wildlife scientist Sujit Narwade.
