A total of 349 camps would be held in Virudhunagar district under Ungaludan Stalin programme.
In a statement, Virudhunagar Collector N.O. Sukhaputra said that the 229 camps would be held in 11 panchayat union areas and 120 camps would be held in urban areas like Sivakasi Corporation, five municipalities and nine Town Panchayats.
The camps in urban areas would deal with 43 services offered by 13 departments and in rural areas with 46 services offered by 15 departments.
As a prelude to this camp, volunteers would make door-to-door distribution of pamphlets on the scheme along with application forms. The volunteers would interact with the people and explain to them about the welfare schemes that would help them and encourage them to participate in the camps.
The camps would be held from July 15 to November 7.
The inaugural day camps would be held at six places in Amanakkunatham panchayat in Aruppukottai block, Kelakeppylingampatti in Kariyapatti block, Maraiyur in Narikudi block, Ward 1 in Sivakasi Corporation, Ward 1 in Srivilliputtur municipality, the statement said.

The Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops has allocated ₹77.17 lakh to Virudhunagar district for promoting horticulture crops, including increasing the area of its cultivation under the State Horticulture Development scheme. In a statement, Collector N.O. Sukhaputra has said the funds would be utilised to increase the area of cultivation of traditional vegetables, chilly, coconut and flowers. A subsidy of ₹24,000 per hectare will be given for growing traditional vegetables. It would be extended to 45 ha for which ₹10.80 lakh has been allotted. Similarly, the subsidy for chilli and coconut is ₹12,000 each. The proposal to extend the coverage of cultivation of chilli and coconut is 10 ha each for which a total of ₹24 lakh has been allotted for the district. The proposal for increase in coverage of flowers is 75 acres and the subsidy is ₹9 lakh at the rate of ₹12,000 per ha. The total subsidy meant for increasing the cultivation of these crops is ₹43.80 lakh. Besides, the department has planned to encourage terrace garden in houses. Terrace garden kits will be distributed with a 50% subsidy to 300 for which ₹1.35 lakh has been allocated. The cost of each kit is ₹900 and the subsidy will be 450, the Collector said. Another component of subsidy is to increase the coverage of chilli cultivation by removing the wild growth of Prosopis juliflora. Under the scheme, 50% subsidy of ₹5,000 per ha. will be given to 100 hectares for which ₹5 lakh has been earmarked. A sum of ₹26.62 lakh has been allotted for containing white fly attack in coconut trees. A 50% subsidy of ₹1,775 per hectare will be given to 1,500 hectares. Interested farmers can register themselves for getting the subsidy through or through Uzhavan app. They can also approach the block Assistant Director (Horticulture), the Collector said.

Over 228 special camps under the Ungaludan Stalin outreach programme will commence across Krishnagiri district to enable access to the various government schemes starting from Tuesday (July 15, 2025). The district administration has planned 228 special camps to be spread over from July 15 to October 14. This envisions 70 camps from July 15 to August 15; 78 camps from August 16 to September 15, 78 camps from September 16 to October 14. Earlier, briefing the media about the special camps, Collector C. Dinesh Kumar said, 13 departments will provide 43 services in urban areas, and 15 departments will provide 46 services in rural areas through these special camps. The administration has appointed 2,200 volunteers, carrying door-to-door visits, distributing applications and pamphlets. A total of 5,29,228 households are proposed to be covered. As of last week, 40,000 households have already been covered by the volunteers, the Collector said. Those who have been missed out for Magalur Urimai Thogai scheme may avail these camps to apply. Each camp will also host a separate counters for the Chief Minister's comprehensive insurance scheme and for Aadhaar related services. The venues of the camps will be updated weekly in the respective neighbourhoods by volunteers and through media every Friday for the upcoming week.

Nilgiris district to see 146 camps under Ungaludan Stalin initiative

UDHAGAMANDALAM: As many as 146 camps would be held in the Nilgiris under the 'Ungaludan Stalin' initiative, district collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru said on Monday. The camps, which will start on Tuesday, will be held in three phases till Oct 14. The Nilgiris consists of five municipalities, ten town panchayats and thirty-five panchayats. "We will conduct 65 camps across all individual wards in urban areas, while 81 camps will be held in rural areas throughout the three phases," Lakshmi stated. The schedule for the phases is as follows: the first phase will run from July 15 to Aug 14, the second phase from Aug 16 to Sept 14 and the third phase from Sept 15 to Oct 14. According to Lakshmi, around 9,000 application forms have been distributed to households so far. Completed applications can be submitted to the relevant officials during the camps. The initiative will provide 45 services, including new electricity connections, water connections, name changes and Aadhaar name changes. "Fifteen departments will be involved in rural areas, whereas thirteen departments will operate in urban areas, delivering services as part of this initiative. Services will be provided to individuals within 45 days," the collector said. Lakshmi encouraged the public to take advantage of this opportunity to access the available services.
