Neil Gaiman's Comic Book Publisher Drops Him amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations
Fantasy author Neil Gaiman has been dropped by his longtime comic book publisher after multiple women accused him of sexual assault.
The works of the 64-year-old author, who is best known for properties like Coraline, The Sandman and Good Omens, will no longer be published by Dark Horse Comics, the company announced on Jan. 24 in a post on X.
'Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works,' the Oregon-based company wrote.
Dark Horse — which publishes comic books, graphic novels and manga — also confirmed in the post that it has cancelled the Anansi Boys comic series, an adaptation of the writer's 2005 novel. Seven of the comics in the eight-part series have already been published.
In the wake of the allegations, Gaiman also stepped back from production of the third season of Prime Video's Good Omens adaptation, which will now conclude with a single 90-minute episode, according to Variety.
Disney's The Graveyard Book, a film adaptation of Gaiman's 2008 book, has also been paused, and Netflix's Dead Boy Detectives, co-created by Gaiman, has been canceled, though it is not clear whether these moves were directly related to the allegations against the author, per Variety.
The upcoming second season of The Sandman, however, is still expected to release on Netflix as planned, the outlet reported.

News of Dark Horse severing ties with the Coraline author comes after the multiple women — including Scarlett Pavlovich, who formerly babysat for the author's son with his ex-wife, Amanda Palmer — spoke on the record about their alleged interactions with the famed novelist in a Jan. 13 Vulture report.
In the report, Pavlovich recalled an alleged instance when she was babysitting Gaiman's son at his New Zealand home, and she and the author were alone in the house. Gaiman, who was separated from Palmer at the time, suggested that she take a bath, Pavlovich said.
Pavlovich claimed that while she was in the bathtub, Gaiman joined her, naked, even though she said 'no,' and proceeded to participate in nonconsensual sex acts. Pavlovich also claimed that throughout her time babysitting for the family, Gaiman continued to assault her.
The allegations detailed in the Vulture report come about six months after the author was first accused of sexual assault in July 2023, when British podcast Master posted six episodes centered on the sexual assault allegations against Gaiman from five different women.
On Jan. 14, the day after the latest report was published, Gaiman addressed the claims in a lengthy statement posted on his website, writing that he watched the news of the allegations "with horror and dismay."

"As I read through this latest collection of accounts, there are moments I half-recognize and moments I don't, descriptions of things that happened sitting beside things that emphatically did not happen," he wrote in part. "I'm far from a perfect person, but I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever ... At the time I was in those relationships, they seemed positive and happy on both sides."

The fantasy author also denied "there was any abuse," and wrote that he is "prepared to take responsibility for any missteps I made. I'm not willing to turn my back on the truth, and I can't accept being described as someone I am not, and cannot and will not admit to doing things I didn't do."
On Jan. 15, Palmer also addressed the allegations in a statement provided to NME. 'While Ms. Palmer is profoundly disturbed by the allegations that Mr. Gaiman has abused several women, at this time her primary concern is, and must remain, the well-being of her son and therefore, to guard his privacy, she has no comment on these allegations,' a representative for Palmer told the outlet.

Days Gone Studio Hit With Mass Layoff After Live Service PlayStation Game Canceled
Days Gone maker Bend Studio has been hit by layoffs. Roughly a third of the first-party PlayStation team was cut following the recent cancelation of an unannounced live service project, but Sony confirmed the studio is working on a new project now and it remains 'confident in its future and creative direction.' 'Earlier this year, Bend Studio wrapped development on a live service concept. After careful consideration, we chose not to move forward with it,' a spokesperson for Sony confirmed to Kotaku in an email. 'As the team shifts focus to its next project, we've made strategic changes to better position the studio for long-term success. As part of this transition, a workforce reduction has taken place at the studio. This decision was not made lightly, and we are extremely grateful for the meaningful contributions of all those impacted. Bend Studio has been a valued part of PlayStation Studios for decades, and we remain confident in its future and creative direction.' About 40 developers at the Oregon-based studio were laid today, as first reported by Bloomberg. The project they were previously working on was canceled earlier this year amid a purge of some internal live service projects, including an online God of War spin-off at Bluepoint Games. 'Bend Studio laid off a bunch of people today,' senior animator Robert Morrison posted on X. 'I was a part of the layoffs. I did my best. Hopefully I can find a new team to join.' Best known for the Syphon Filter espionage games in the PS1 and PS2 eras, Bend Studio later moved on to developing handheld ports of first-party franchises like Resistance and Uncharted before eventually making 2019's open world zombie blockbuster Days Gone. The game didn't review as highly as some PlayStation exclusives but still sold well. While fans pined for a sequel, the studio hasn't released a game since. Days Gone received a PS5 version earlier this year but has otherwise laid dormant as Bend Studio reportedly worked on a new live service IP. Leaked images made it appear like the now canceled game was an online multiplayer loot shooter of sorts, though no official details about the project were ever shared publicly. The Bend Studio cuts are the latest self-inflicted wound of a PS5 generation live service pivot that's left Sony conspicuously short on big first-party blockbusters. Live service spin-offs of Twisted Metal and The Last of Us were also canceled, while Concord's launch went so poorly the company refunded the game and shutdown the studio behind it which had acquired just a couple years prior. Another upcoming online shooter, Fairgame$, was recently delayed according to Bloomberg after it received negative feedback from external testing. That studio's head, Jade Raymond, departed around the same time. Update 6/10/2025 5:06 p.m. ET: Added statement from Sony. . For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Minneapolis Utopia: David Byrne heads to the Orpheum Theatre this fall
Minneapolis Utopia: David Byrne heads to the Orpheum Theatre this fall originally appeared on Bring Me The News. For the first time in seven years, David Byrne is releasing new music. The legendary Talking Heads singer will follow 2018's American Utopia with a new 12-track album, Who Is the Sky?, which will be accompanied by a tour that brings him and a large ensemble to the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on Nov. 3 and 4. He last passed through the Twin Cities on the American Utopia tour, playing the same downtown Minneapolis theater for a tour that later became a Broadway musical and a Spike Lee-directed concert film as well. The new album was recorded with the New York-based chamber music ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra, which also arranged the music. Who Is the Sky? also features appearances from Paramore's Hayley Williams, Smile drummer Tom Skinner, and St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, with whom Byrne released a collaborative album in 2012. This go-round, the 73-year-old singer will perform with a 16-piece ensemble that includes musicians, singers, and dancers, some of whom were part of his American Utopia band. Similar to that tour, the announcement says that the performers "will be mobile throughout the set." The first taste of Who Is the Sky? was shared last week in a video for the anthemic "Everybody Laughs." A new music video of the Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer," starring Saoirse Ronan, was also recently released to celebrate the Talking Heads' 50th anniversary. Byrne's tour begins in September, passes through the Twin Cities in October, and will head to Australia, New Zealand, and Europe in 2026. Outside of Minneapolis, the tour's only other Upper Midwest pit stops are an Oct. 25 show at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and a three-night stand at The Auditorium in Chicago, beginning on Oct. 28. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13. A presale begins on Tuesday through the list on Byrne's story was originally reported by Bring Me The News on Jun 10, 2025, where it first appeared.
