Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals Whether or Not She'd Wear Carrie Bradshaw's Outfits — Including 'That' Ginormous Hat

Sarah Jessica Parker shared her unfiltered thoughts on Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe during her appearance of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
The actress revealed what Carrie Bradshaw outfit she would never be caught wearing, leading her to share her take on the viral gingham hat she wore in season 3 of And Just Like That...
Designer Maryam Keyhani made the large floppy gingham headwear, which divided the internetSarah Jessica Parker just isn't all that into Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe.
While the fictional Sex & the City columnist still reigns supreme for her covetable closet in the eyes of fashion savants around the world, Parker, 60, just broke the news that she and Carrie aren't exactly the same when it comes to style.
In a Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen segment called "The Shady Hat" (inspired by the viral gingham hat Carrie wore in season 3 of And Just Like That...), the actress got real about her character's outfit choices when asked if there is "one thing that Carrie has worn that you, SJP, would never be caught dead in."
"There's piles and piles of laundry of things that I would never wear," answered Parker, who was then asked if she'd brave wearing that hat in real life. "I have to have a really good reason. I probably wouldn't have strolled around Washington Square Park."
The actress added, "I do want to say that milliner is a woman named Maryam Keyhani and she's amazing. That hat is one of many pieces of works of art, whatever, you want to make it a funny thing, but she's incredible."
Despite the discourse it caused for being controversially big, Parker revealed to USA Today that she was the one who chose the accessory and insisted that it make its way to the camera.

'I saw the hat and wanted it on my head,' she told the outlet about the fashion choice made for the spinoff's season 3 premiere. 'At this point, there's no pretend dilly-dallying around. We pretty much just put stuff on my head and photograph it, and hope that Michael Patrick [King, executive producer of the show] is hospitable to the idea.'
'It's like, 'Hey, everybody, we're back! Here's a hat that Carrie would wear eating sherbet in Washington Square Park. Why not?' ' King, 70, explained. 'I've learned over the years that sometimes logic is not as good as a hat. It makes people say, 'I love it. I hate it. Oh, my God, what was she thinking?' "

During her appearance on WWHL, Parker also addressed who she thought had the worst style on Sex & the City. In the original 1998 cast, Parker starred alongside Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha).
"I think there were images at one point of us arriving in New York and the way we dressed, I think there was a montage of our arrival like newborn babies exposed to nothing. So, I would say all of us at the beginning," she admitted.
Although Parker's personal style doesn't exactly fit the description of Bradshaw's, there have been moments when she's channeled her character in real life, from attending the New York City Ballet in mismatched heels and a hot pink Zac Posen confection to turning heads at the Met Gala in a statement headpiece of her own choosing.
Plus, it's not like the Golden Globe winner isn't in possession of Carrie's iconic staples — in fact, she owns them all! In a December 2021 issue of Vogue, she revealed that she has the clothes from all six seasons of Sex and the City in addition to those from the franchise's two movies.
"I had all of the original stuff in my own storage. Furniture, clothes, everything, packed according to season and episode and scene," Parker noted, adding in a June 2025 interview with Wonderland Magazine that she has a wardrobe non-negotiable in her contract when she films a project.

Here's what to expect from Season 2 of The Pitt on HBO Max

Production for Season 2 of The Pitt is underway and here's what to know and expect about the Pittsburgh-based show that's already garnered several Emmy nominations. The popular medical drama stars Noah Wyle and snagged 13 Emmy nominations, including for best drama and best actor. The HBO Max series also got nods for supporting actress, directing, writing, sound editing, makeup and casting. While most of the first season was filmed on a set in Burbank, California, that looked like Allegheny General Hospital, the show spent three days filming in Pittsburgh last September. The crew shot drone footage above the hospital and around the city, and some scenes were shot on the hospital's helipad. The show's second season is set to premiere in January 2026 and some new details are emerging about what you can expect to see. According to TV Line, Season 2 of the show is expected to again consist of a 15-hour day in the hospital's emergency department, this time over a 4th of July weekend, approximately ten months after the first season of the show ended. Producers for the show spoke with The Wrap and said some topics and storylines from the season are expected to include immigration, autism, and PTSD. Nearly all of the cast members from the first season are expected to return for the second season, but Dr. Heather Collins, played by Tracy Ifeachor will not be returning. Wyle previously told Deadline that her departure from the show was a story-based decision. Executive Producer John Wells, who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, said he hopes that now that the show has gained some traction, HBO will be able to get some clearance from professional sports leagues to use team logos to help reflect the Pittsburgh-based themes of The Pitt.

Margot Robbie is in early talks to star in Tim Burton's remake of the independent 1958 sci-fi classic Attack of the 50-Foot Woman. According to Variety, should Robbie decide to sign on, she would co-produce the film under her LuckyChap production banner. It was announced last year that Burton would direct from a screenplay by Gillian Flynn, who wrote the first draft but has since left the project. Robbie's decision to star reportedly depends on the final version of the script, though the film is currently without a writer. The original black-and-white film was directed by Nathan H. Juran and written by Mark Hanna. Allison Hayes starred as Nancy Fowler Archer, a wealthy heiress who has a close encounter with an alien one fateful night and becomes a giantess. The cult-classic was part of a slew of sci-fi films about giant humans, including The Amazing Colossal Man and War of the Colossal Beast. A remake, directed by Christopher Guest and starring Daryl Hannah as Nancy, was made for HBO in 1993. Robbie recently wrapped filming on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring opposite Colin Farrell, as well as on Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights adaptation. Signing on to the Burton pic would reunite her with Warner Bros., which released Robbie's $1.45 billion-dollar Barbie movie. Attack of the 50-Foot Woman does not yet have a release date.
