How to watch the NASCAR Brickyard 400 live for free from Indianapolis
It's time for the Brickyard 400, one of NASCAR's Crown Jewel races that has even higher stakes this year with the inaugural in-season challenge coming to an end.
Today's race will determine which driver takes home $1 million in prize money for winning the in-season challenge. The single-elimination bracket style tournament has taken place over the past four races leading into today's Champions Round. No. 32 seed Ty Dillon and No. 6 Ty Gibbs are the last drivers standing, and whoever finishes higher will win the first-ever in-season challenge.
The last driver to kiss the bricks (the traditional celebration at Indy) was Kyle Larson, who starts today's race in the 13th spot.
The 400-mile race will be done in three stages of 50, 50, and 60 laps.

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The instant the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Braves cleared the baseball diamond inside the infield at Bristol Motor Speedway, a new clock started. 'The Last Great Colosseum' has to switch from hosting the MLB Speedway Classic and be ready for NASCAR's return to the historic racetrack hosting a playoff chase race Sept. 13. 'As soon as the last pitch is thrown, the last hit's hit, teams do their thing, postgame's taken care of, pads will start coming off the wall, and they'll work through the night to basically start disassembling so we can reassemble for the NASCAR race,' said Steve Swift, Speedway Motorsports' senior vice president of operations. Major League Baseball used BaAM to create everything from clubhouses for the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds complete with showers, strength and conditioning rooms, coach and trainers' offices and batting cages. Grandstands down both base lines with broadcast booths. Pit walls taken down to keep the Reds and Braves from crashing into them have to be rebuilt. Swift said pouring concrete walls does take time and then more time to cure properly. Additives can help concrete cure faster, but that's just one of the reconstruction issues causing obstacles. Now it's time for Bristol Motor Speedway to go from hosting the first MLB regular-season game in the state of Tennessee and setting a record with a paid attendance of 91,032 back to its racing roots. The transformation to a baseball diamond in the infield required 17,500 tons of gravel to level the infield, then 340 tons of Pennsylvania clay for the playing surface. Braves first baseman Matt Olson said Saturday that he couldn't believe Bristol was transformed all for one game. Well, everything that can be recycled will be used somewhere after the baseball diamond is removed. Some of the gravel will be used in Bristol Motor Speedway's parking lots. Swift said they have found groups to help use some of the materials to help people still recovering from the damages left by Hurricane Helene. That includes 2x4s and plywood used for the grandstands. 'A lot of stuff is going to go to good use as far as the rebuild portion," Swift said. "We just need to get it out of the way so we can put back asphalt and concrete.' This new renovation schedule has a couple of days built in for protection. The target date for being finished is Sept. 7. 'There may still be some paint drying whenever they roll in with the Goodyear haulers, but we'll definitely shoot for that (Sept. 7) day," Swift said. "And at the latest, we're looking at Tuesday.' Bristol hosted a college football game in 2016 that drew 156,990. Now the NHL might be in Bristol's future after Sportico reported Friday that league officials would be checking out how the racetrack handled Major League Baseball. When asked about possibly hosting an outdoor hockey game, Swift only said a hockey rink would be similar to a football field and that Speedway Motorsports has big dreams for what is possible at places like Bristol. 'We've shown with football and now baseball being here, that things can take place and we can do the the things that nobody would even think about,' Swift said.

NASCAR Rumors: Legacy Motor Club Could Add 3rd Charter with Haas Factory Merger
The NASCAR silly season hasn't delivered much movement in terms of drivers this year, with most of the top racers in the Cup Series under contract. However, plenty is happening with NASCAR teams, which could include a potential merger. The Instagram account nascarrumornostalgia, a well-known social media account for NASCAR rumors, passed along that multiple sources have said Legacy Motor Club could potentially buy into or merge with the Haas Factory Team. Related: 'I've heard from a couple people now that Legacy Motor Club could be looking into buying or merging with the Haas Factory Team. That could mean the 41 charter and the entire Haas racing shop as well. My own theory is that this might be a plan B if this Rick Ware Racing lawsuit doesn't go their way. Either way, sounds like LMC is in a serious hunt after a 3rd charter.' nascarrumornostalgia on a potential merger between the Haas Factory Team and Legacy Motor Club Legacy Motor Club is currently involved in two lawsuits with other teams. Earlier this season, the team sued Rick Ware Racing regarding a charter agreement dispute. LMC claims it is supposed to receive a charter from RWR under a signed Charter Purchase Agreement for 2026 and alleges RWR is trying to back out of the deal. Rick Ware, owner of RWR, has said the deal is for 2027. Last month, Ware agreed to sell RWR to T.J. Puchyr, former owner of Spire Motorsports. Legacy then filed a lawsuit against Puchyr for tortious interference, opposing his purchase of RWR. On Thursday, a North Carolina judge issued a temporary restraining order halting the sale. If that were to happen, the No. 41 car driven by Cole Custer could be teamed up with the No. 42 car (John Hunter Nemechek) and the No. 43 car (Erik Jones). In this scenario, LMC would obtain the third charter it wants, while Haas would no longer need to run a one-car team in the Cup Series. Last year, Haas also reached a deal that enabled the return of Formula 1 to Toyota after a 15-year absence from the sport. This potential move could be the perfect pivot for Legacy if the saga with RWR does not play out favorably. If it happens, a third charter at LMC could potentially open up a Cup Series spot for Jesse Love next season.
