Hallmark star Eric Mabius arrested for battery in Florida after he allegedly ‘knocked' women to ground at bar
Eric Mabius was arrested early Thursday morning in Yulee, Florida, for simple battery, according to an arrest record obtained by Fox News Digital.
The Hallmark actor, who appeared to have a black eye in his mug shot, allegedly "knocked" two women to the ground inside a Nassau County bar during an altercation around 2 a.m. local time.
He faces two misdemeanor charges for battery and resisting arrest without violence.
Mabius allegedly "knocked" an intoxicated woman, who was bothering people in a Florida bar, and a woman she was allegedly harassing, to the ground, according to a statement from the arresting officer with the Nassau County Sheriff's Department.
"The victim said this only took a few seconds but while she was on the ground Eric got on top of her and was pulling her hair ripping a handful of her hair from her scalp," the arresting officer continued. "The victim then stated that this is when multiple people at the bar was able to pull both arrestees' off of her."
The intoxicated woman was also arrested, according to the arrest record.
Mabius became "more belligerent" once officers brought him outside of the bar, "not following simple commands to just sit on the bench," the arresting officer continued, adding, "at one point in time Eric tried to stand up and walk behind me while I was trying to finish investigating the incident. Several deputies had to escort him back to the bench and placed him under arrest for resisting without violence."
A witness who claimed he had been spit on by the intoxicated woman, told officers that "Eric, slung both girls to the ground and so he grabbed Eric off the girls" as police were arriving at the scene.
The witness said he didn't want to press charges for being spit on, but the woman who was allegedly thrown to the ground did wish to press charges against both Mabius and the intoxicated woman, and they were each arrested for simple battery.
The actor starred in Hallmark's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" series, and he played Daniel Meade on "Ugly Betty" from 2006 until 2010.

Her defense denies that her vehicle ever struck O'Keefe, and Rentschler spent two days on the stand explaining how he came to the conclusion that O'Keefe's injuries were inconsistent with a vehicle strike on a pedestrian. 'I do not believe that injury is consistent with being struck by an SUV at approximately 24 miles an hour,' he testified. O'Keefe had no broken bones on his right arm, only superficial abrasions, he testified. Based on his testing at ARCCA, a crash reconstruction firm, he said that the arm should have sustained more serious damage. 5 Crash reconstruction expert Dr. Andrew Rentschler served as the last witness for the defense in Karen Read's case. AP Rentschler said he did not believe Read's SUV could have struck O'Keefe based on his injuries and ARCCA testing. But special prosecutor Hank Brennan grilled him on cross-examination, questioning how thorough his testing was and forcing him to concede that he did not take into account shattered pieces of taillight on the ground near O'Keefe and embedded in his clothes. 'The prosecutor will definitely zero-in on this in closing,' said David Gelman, a Philadelphia-area criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor. 'The closings will be key for both parties now. Brennan and [defense attorney Alan] Jackson are both strong personalities, so this is going to be big.' Brennan also revealed Wednesday afternoon that he will not call a rebuttal witness to the stand before the case goes to jurors. In what could boil down to a so-called battle of the experts, legal analysts say Rentschler was a solid choice to close out the case. 5 Karen Read talked with her defense team before the start of court on Wednesday. AP 'He methodically explained why the DA's theory of an SUV-pedestrian strike doesn't hold up,' said Mark Bederow, the New York City-based attorney representing Read ally and Canton blogger Aidan Kearney. 'The lack of arm injuries, the lack of holes in the hoodie, which doesn't come close to corresponding with the amount abrasions, the final location of John O'Keefe not making sense.' He argued that Rentschler's showing could have prompted Brennan to 'wave the white flag' rather than call Dr. Judson Welcher back to the stand for rebuttal. 'What stood out is that he was steadfast that Dr. Welcher's testimony about simulating the contact was fallacious. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Part Three: John's Funeral: Eric walks back to the podium and says he maintained a strong connection to John even after he discovered they weren't father, and son can be somewhat attributed to their devotion to God. He says John was a mentor for all the kids. Presiding over John's service is both the hardest thing he's ever had to do and one of the great privileges of his life. With that, he kisses his family. Hospital: Bo is beside himself because he's not at John's services. Hope says the funeral has already started but Bo says he must be there. Hope thinks John wouldn't want him to leave before he's completely healed. If something happens to him, John's sacrifice is all for nought. John's Funeral: Eric retakes the podium and says his twin sister wanted to be there but is in attendance virtually. She sent a message for him to read. She writes how she always thought John ruined her life and family. However, she now knows how much she saved them. She thinks John was actually one of the best things that ever happened to her. Sami knows she was a bit of a nightmare but thanks John for loving her mother, her family and her. She apologizes for all the times she let her pride, and her ego get in the way of thanking him for all he meant to her. Sami says she loves John and already misses him. Carrie hugs Eric and takes the podium. She talks about how John and Marlena helped blend their family and made each child feel loved and cherished. John was like a father to her being loving and attentive no matter how busy he was. She references John and Marlena's wedding in 1999 and how they had each child present a different flower to represent how they were all a part of a larger garden. They want to recreate that ritual today. Hospital: Bo promises he wouldn't risk their future by leaving the hospital if he wasn't certain he could do it. With that, all the 'children' rise and move towards the front. Flashback: John and Marlena's 1999 wedding and the ceremony Carrie just referenced. Belle is their daisy who brightens them up with their smile. Brady is their sunflower who is bold and adventurous. Sami/Paul is their rose who has a huge generous heart with all the natural beauty nature has to offer. Eric is their snapdragon who keeps all the other flowers on their toes. Lastly, Carrie is their orchid who needs loving attention and deserves it. They can't claim her genetically but are better people for having her in their lives. John's Funeral: As each of John and Marlena's children (genetic or otherwise) are announced in the flashback, they rise and place their respective flowers by John's urn and pictures. They return to their seats and surround Marlena in love and support. Brady takes the podium and mentions how his grandfather, Timothy Robicheaux, was unable to be in attendance because of his recent hip surgery. He tells the story of how John and his father connected a few years ago. Brady mentions how much alike his father and grandfather were. That being said, there is an essential John Black attribute not connected to Timothy he must mention, the eyebrow. The congregation giggles at the welcomed light-hearted moment. Brady says the use of John Black's eyebrow was perhaps his single greatest asset. Brady outlines all the different ways his father's eyebrows conveyed emotion (Brady calling Belle Tink will always get me). Brady brings the story full circle saying John finding his father helped bring some stability to his life story. Brady notes, no matter how much his father debated his own identity, he always knew he was the world's greatest dad. It's Marlena's turn to take the podium. Brady squeezes her hand before she heads to the front. Marlena's voice catches immediately when she says she didn't even plan to speak today. She says she feels so fortunate to have expressed how she feels to her beloved before his passing. She decides to share a poem with them about love which meant so much to them. After she recites it, she takes a moment to look at the portrait of John and moves toward it. She says they had many obstacles, but their love brought them through. Marlena believes their love will bring the through this, as well. With that, she looks at her beloved John and says, 'good night, my love.' Eric retakes the podium to lead the congregation in prayer. Just then, Shawn Douglas stands in shock as his father and mother walk in. Hope hugs Marlena and SHE DOESN'T EVEN TOUCH HER (their history precedes them). Bo apologizes for the interruption and asks if he is too late to say a few words. Marlena says she would love for him to do that very thing. Bo takes the podium and remembers John's arrival in Salem. Bo notes he was trying to take John out whilst John ended up saving his life. He says John's compassion is his legacy as he constantly did everything, he could to support him. Bo says John gave him the precious gift of time. John may no longer be with them but the gifts he gave remain… and that's a fact. Bo moves towards John's portrait and tells his brother to rest in peace. Eric returns to the podium and thanks everyone for joining them today. He asks them all to join in for the upcoming celebration at the Brady Pub. Marlena tells Eric what a beautiful job he did and how proud John would have been. Kayla hugs Bo and chastises him for leaving the hospital so soon. Bo says he had to be there to pay tribute to John. Chanel tells Johnny how distressed he looked when Kayla talked about John's legacy living through them. He says he thinks his recent behavior would be disappointing to his grandpa. Chanel supports her beloved saying his recent changes give him a clean slate. Kate approaches John's portrait and says what a special place John will always hold in her heart. Just then, Roman walks up and hugs her. Marlena walks over to a bouquet of flowers and flashes back to a time John gave her lilacs, her favorite flower. She wonders who sent them… Brady asks his father to give his love to his mother (an Isabella mention!). Belle mentions the conversation she had with Shawn Douglas days prior when he said two miracles seemed too much to hope for (that line just killed me). Shawn D says how sorry he is and they embrace. Hope tells Bo she and John had a special bond because of Stefano (that would be that when she was Princess Gina, she and John had sex on a submarine – look it up). She takes a picture of John and says she is going to miss everything about him. Hope implores the angels to take good care of her special friend and Bo embraces her. Kayla tells Marlena she asked the hospital about the gold coin in John's hands, but they say it completely disappeared. "So their credibility goes with what you see versus what they say. "When ICE agents called for police support when they were being assaulted, they hunkered down and waited two hours before police responded because police couldn't get authority to react. So that alone gave a reason for the president to bring in additional federalized troops to protect the ICE agents." On Tuesday, Fox News Digital exclusively reported Issa's call for an investigation into the Department of Homeland Security's claim that the LAPD took two hours to respond to assist ICE agents being assaulted on Friday night. The LAPD, in a Sunday press conference, denied that allegation and said it took 40 minutes to respond due to traffic. Issa told Fox News Digital that Trump is doing a "great job" in his response to the unrest in Los Angeles. "One thing that I'm very happy about is, I know that by taking strong action here, he's keeping it from occurring in other cities around the country, because what you don't want is what ultimately happened in 2020 where we saw it happening not just in one city but in city after city where more than two dozen people died and billions of dollars of damage occurred because it wasn't handled quickly enough, and we've learned from that." Issa told Fox News Digital that he finds it curious why Democrats have used the word "insurrection" to describe the Jan. 6th riots that lasted hours but have not used the term to describe what has unfolded in Los Angeles over several days. "We heard the word 'insurrection' for a couple of years nonstop, and now in Los Angeles, when people are directly assaulting property and law enforcement, that's the very definition of insurrection; and particularly when they're doing it on behalf of people who are sitting in jails because they were arrested for crimes, not just for entering the country illegally but for actual felonies," Issa said. "And it's sort of amazing to believe that high-ranking elected officials like Gov. Newsom would actually try to defend any of that action. And yet they're doing it." Issa went on to say that Newsom's response to the riots "might have worked in the era of print or maybe even the era of radio" but that video evidence of rioting from the scene makes his position untenable. "Television and podcasts and everyone having a cellphone, those images are going to be what the American people [is going to] see when he tries to pretend that he was a good governor," Issa said. "They're going to see a failure to do his job and an absolute resistance against those who came in to do it for him." Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of Newsom and Bass for comment. "Trump is pulling a military dragnet all across Los Angeles, well beyond his stated intent to just go after violent and serious criminals," Newsom said on Tuesday night. "His agents are arresting dishwashers, gardeners, day laborers and seamstresses. That's just weakness. Weakness masquerading as strength. Donald Trump's government isn't protecting our communities. They're traumatizing our communities. And that seems to be the entire point." "When Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commandeer the National Guard, he made that order apply to every state in this nation. This is about all of us. This is about you.
