Yemeni Center for HR condemns US violations of Intel Humanitarian Law in Yemen, Palestine

Saba Yemen07-04-2025
Sana'a - Saba:
The Yemeni Center for Human Rights on Monday condemned in the strongest terms the systematic violations of international humanitarian law committed by US forces and the Israeli occupation in Yemen and Palestine.
These violations include the targeting of civilians and civilian objects, as well as the destruction of vital infrastructure, in violation of Article (54) of Additional Protocol I, and the use of indiscriminate weapons, which violates the principle of distinction between military and civilian targets (Article 48 of Additional Protocol I).
The center explained in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that, in a threat to international peace and security, US forces launched dozens of raids with various types of missiles on the capital, Sana'a, and other governorates in mid-March, resulting in (61) civilian deaths and (139) injuries, according to preliminary statistics.
The statement noted that on Shawwal 7, 1446 AH, US aircraft targeted a solar energy supply store in Sa'ada, killing two citizens and wounding (4) others, in addition to destroying the adjacent building. The statement also noted that the aggression's aircraft targeted a citizen's home in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Sheab al-Hafa area of the capital, Sana'a, last night, Sunday, Shawwal 9, killing (4) citizens from one family, including two women, and wounding (25) citizens, including (11) women and a child.
It emphasized that the crimes of the US aggression violated all international laws and conventions by systematically, deliberately, and openly targeting civilians. US President Trump ordered the US Air Force to launch an airstrike during the daytime of Eid al-Fitr, targeting a gathering of citizens in the open celebrating the holiday in Hodeida province with a direct missile.
The statement noted that the raid resulted in dozens of casualties, including deaths and injuries. This crime, which US President Trump acknowledged and boasted about on his Twitter account, constitutes a full-fledged war crime. National and international judiciaries must initiate proceedings and prosecute US President Donald Trump, his Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and all those involved in the decision to commit these crimes.
The Yemeni Center for Human Rights affirmed that these attacks constitute war crimes under Article (8) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, as they targeted civilians and non-military objects. It also affirmed that the US President's public bragging about the attacks via the media regarding Hodeida crime constitutes a violation of Article (85) of Additional Protocol I, which prohibits acts of terror against civilians.
The Center holds the United States fully responsible for the continued aggression against Yemen and Gaza, and for its complicity with the Zionist entity in the crimes of genocide in Gaza, in accordance with the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. These crimes have resulted in the killing and wounding of more than 4,400 civilians in Gaza since mid-March, bringing the death toll since the Israeli aggression on Gaza in October 2023 to more than 50,660 civilians, both dead and wounded.
The Center called on the UN Security Council to immediately investigate these crimes and refer the case to the International Criminal Court.
It also called on UN and international organizations to condemn these crimes and support efforts to file lawsuits and prosecute the perpetrators of crimes that do not expire by statute of limitations. The Center also calls on free peoples and civil society organizations to take urgent action to stop these violations, and calls on Arab, Islamic, and friendly countries to take serious positions to support the Palestinian and Yemeni peoples and work to stop these crimes.

Houthis Announce Drone Strike Targeting Israel

Sanaa — Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for launching three armed drones toward Israeli territory, in what the group described as a 'retaliatory operation' in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. According to a televised statement by Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the drones targeted strategic sites in southern Israel, including the port of Eilat, though Israeli defense officials have not confirmed any direct hits or casualties. Israeli military reported intercepting at least one of the drones using its Iron Dome air defense system, while the status of the others remains under investigation. This latest announcement follows a series of cross-border attacks between the Houthis and Israel, including missile launches and maritime strikes in the Red Sea. Houthis have intensified their campaign since early July, citing what they call 'Israeli aggression' and pledging to continue operations until a ceasefire is reached in Gaza. Israeli officials have condemned the attacks, accusing Iran of backing the Houthis and using them as a proxy to destabilize the region.

Democratic Front condemns 'Death Snare' massacre in Khan Younis

Gaza - Saba: The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) condemned in the strongest terms the new Israeli massacre perpetrated by enemy forces this morning south of Khan Younis, which claimed the lives of more than 21 Palestinians, most of whom died of suffocation as a result of the heavy firing of tear gas canisters at crowds of citizens gathered to receive American aid. This led to a stampede and intense panic, resulting in this large number of deaths and injuries. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the DFLP considered this horrific massacre, which is being recorded for the first time in terms of both numbers and method, to reflect a new systematic approach to killing Palestinians by transforming aid distribution centers into veritable "death traps." Killing is no longer limited to bombing and starvation, but now includes more sinister methods that exploit people's need for food to survive, turning them into direct targets for policies of humiliation, starvation, and intimidation. The Democratic Front affirmed that the enemy, with the support of the American establishment, is continuing to implement a policy of genocide using various tools, ranging from siege and starvation, to direct killing, and even turning aid into a deadly trap, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and norms. The Front held the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this massacre, calling for the formation of an independent international investigation committee to hold its perpetrators accountable, as it constitutes a crime against humanity. It also held the American establishment responsible for complicity in this crime, whether through its silence on these crimes or through its field, logistical, and political support for the enemy, turning its aid into tools of pressure and humiliation. It called on the United Nations and its relief agencies, including UNRWA, to assume their full responsibilities in directly supervising the aid distribution process and ensuring its safe and dignified delivery to citizens, free from the control and political exploitation of the occupation. It called on the Palestinian people to unite and stand firm, reject policies of humiliation, continue the national struggle against the enemy and its projects, and uphold their rights to a dignified life, liberation, and independence. She stated that this new crime adds to a long record of massacres and violations, and will not be forgotten. It will remain a testament to the brutality of the enemy and its allies, and to the legendary steadfastness of our people in the face of hunger, death, and international abandonment. "Democracy": Israeli delegation stalls in Doha as its army continues forced displacement of Gaza residents

Doha – Saba: The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) stated on Wednesday that while the Israeli delegation to the indirect negotiations in Doha continues its blatant stalling tactics to buy more time, its army persists in its criminal, aggressive actions in the Gaza Strip. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the DFLP affirmed that the Israeli enemy's army is forcibly displacing residents of northern Gaza, pushing them southward, as a prelude to expelling them from the Strip altogether—advancing its project of ethnic cleansing and genocide. The statement added that this is being carried out under the cover of negotiations, which the war criminal sought by the International Criminal Court, Netanyahu, admits will not lead to an end to the war or withdrawal from Gaza, but rather serve as a step in his destructive plan for the Strip under the pretext of disarming the resistance. The DFLP further stated, "The negotiations led by the criminal Netanyahu's government, which the U.S. shields by agreeing to extend talks without a set timeframe, not only harm the national interests of our people but also the national security of sisterly Egypt, whose sovereignty over its land remains threatened by the Israeli colonial project to forcibly displace over 2 million Palestinian refugees into the Sinai Peninsula." The Democratic Front emphasized that the steadfastness of the Palestinian negotiating stance, the resilience of Gaza's people, the escalation of resistance operations against the Zionist enemy's army, and active Arab support for the Palestinian people and their resistance will remain the strongest means to thwart the criminal Netanyahu's maneuvers and his army's schemes to displace the people of Gaza.
