Paige Spiranac is up there with Tiger Woods as one of the biggest names in golf, regardless of whether she plays professionally.
She has more followers than Tiger and is known as golf's top social media influencer.
With the PGA Tour making a replacement at the top, as Jay Monahan seems to be out, the news is that Brian Rolapp is the new man in charge.
The fans were quick to give their first demand, and of course, it included Spiranac.
"If the new PGA CEO doesn't immediately hire Paige Spiranac as an on-course reporter, then all is lost," X, formerly Twitter, user McGolfin TV wrote.
Spiranac responded to that tweet.
"I mean the people have spoken," she wrote.

The former professional golfer isn't new to the role. During the PLAYERS Championship week, she was the on-course reporter for the Creators Classic at TPC Sawgrass.
Spiranac did a fantastic job providing insight while keeping people entertained with her quick remarks.
Her skills shone through as she handled the role with ease.

The 32-year-old has already begun her next career phase as she recently signed on with the Grass League, a new par-3 golf tour. It blends pros, influencers and fans to compete. Spiranac will give interviews, work with the marketing side, and help with the new tour's brand, per a story from Forbes.
If anyone can do it, Spiranac can because she grew her brand through hard work and dedication to learning how social media works.
However, the new CEO could shake up the golf landscape if he hired Spiranac as a reporter. Granted, NBC Sports, Golf Channel, or CBS Sports would likely need to hire her.
Unless Rolapp wants to grow the PGA Tour LIVE area and use Spiranac with that team, it would have to be one of the broadcasting companies. Annika Sorenstam already gave her the nod of approval, so why not get her on the broadcast?
She also went to bat for Rory McIlroy after his drama at the U.S. Open. Her ability to talk about what's going on in golf will be a significant asset to the television side of the PGA Tour.
The idea is a good one, though, because she would attract a younger crowd and bring a fresh face to the sport with her influence.

Jordan Spieth Suffers Injury, Withdraws from First PGA Tour Event

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The PGA Tour is hosting its final Signature Event of the 2025 season this week, as the world's best take on TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut. While World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is crushing the course, his good friend, Jordan Spieth, had the opposite experience. Spieth struggled throughout his opening round and was seen wincing in pain several times, even losing hold of a club. The three-time major champion was 5-over through his first 12 holes before making a decision he had never made before: Spieth withdrew from a PGA Tour event. Remarkably, this is the first time in his career he has done so, according to the PGA Tour. That is a stretch that spans 297 starts. (Photo by) MoreFollowing the withdrawal, Spieth was seen looking disappointed. According to Golf Digest writer David Dusek, he woke up feeling pain in his neck. As the round progressed, the pain never subsided and he knew it was not going to get any better. That led to the decision to remove himself from the tournament. Spieth is a 13-time winner on the PGA Tour, having won the Travelers Championship back in 2017. On skill level alone, he is undeniably one of the more talented players on tour. His ability around the greens is stuff of legend. However, injuries have derailed his career recently. He initially suffered a wrist injury in 2017, but managed the pain and played through it for seven years. It eventually became too much, which led to Spieth undergoing wrist surgery last year. Earlier this year, he reinjured the wrist during the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. As the Texas native battled to regain form, his results have been all over the place. He has made 13 of 15 cuts entering this week, including four top 10s. However, he is yet to be a real threat to win late on a Sunday in 2025. It is unknown at this time how this will affect his plans going forward, including The Open at Royal Portrush in July. More Golf: Scottie Scheffler 'Liked What I Heard' from New PGA Tour CEO

Jordan Spieth WDs from Travelers Championship with neck injury, marking first of his career

Jordan Spieth withdrew from the Travelers Championship on Thursday afternoon due to a neck injury, marking a first for him in his career. Spieth had made 297 starts in his career on the PGA Tour without having to withdraw from an event. "I've never withdrawn from an event ever anywhere at any level, so I didn't really know what to do," Spieth said. "It just became too much ... I don't know, it's unfortunate. I've been doing everything right, and I think it was just very random." Advertisement Spieth, who said he thinks he may have slept wrong last night, said he started to feel pain during his warmups on Thursday. He quit early to receive treatment, but things only got worse throughout the day. He was clearly struggling throughout the first half of his opening round at TPC River Highlands, too. Spieth looked like he was in pain with just about every swing, and he stopped to receive more treatment when he made the turn. Finally, Spieth called it after the 12th hole. He teed off at No. 13, but let out a massive grunt after making contact with the ball, clearly in a lot of pain. He was 5-over on the day at that point, which had him at the bottom of the leaderboard. By then, he said, it was simply time to call it. "As I was out there playing, I couldn't, I just wasn't moving very well, and then it just got worse," he said. "I was just going to try to see if I could somehow get through at even. It's a weird situation with an elevated event and no cut and important points and stuff. It's like, well, what's the downside if I can finish of just finishing even if it's ugly, and then I hit my tee shot on 13, and it legitimately really hurt ... I was like, it's only going to get worse to finish the round, and it's not worth it. I thought that was the time." Advertisement Spieth has won 13 times on the PGA Tour in his career, most recently at the RBC Heritage in 2022. He has four top-10 finishes on Tour this season and he's only missed two cuts in 16 starts. Spieth entered this week at No. 44 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Jordan Spieth injures neck, then does something he's never done in PGA Tour career

Jordan Spieth has made 297 career PGA Tour starts. On Thursday, he withdrew mid-tournament for the first time. Spieth injured his neck while warming up on the range prior to Thursday's opening round of the Travelers Championship, according to Golf Channel's George Savaricas. He opted to play through the injury, going 5 over through his first 12 holes. But Spieth could be heard grunting in noticeable pain after his tee shot on the par-5 13th hole. And after his second shot from the left fairway shot out right, getting just 16 feet off the ground before finding another bunker, Spieth said to his caddie, Michael Greller, 'I'm done. Can't do it. I'm sorry.' Spieth then called a rules official, unsure of the protocol for withdrawing. 'How's this work?' Spieth asked the official. 'I've never done this.' Spieth handed his playing competitor, Luke Clanton, his scorecard before hopping on a golf cart to get shuttled back to the clubhouse. Spieth will receive last-place money in the limited-field, signature event, but he will not get any FedExCup points.
