Want to watch the Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer? Here's what you need to do

We are approximately five months away from returning to Pandora in Avatar: Fire and Ash. Besides a few posters and concept art, Disney's 20th Century Studios has not released many promotional materials for the third Avatar movie. That changes this week with the arrival of the Fire and Ash trailer. However, you'll need to head to the theater to watch.
In a post on Avatar's X account, it was revealed that the trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash will run exclusively in theaters this weekend before screenings of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The post includes an image of Varang, a new character introduced in the film.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is using a similar tactic employed by Universal, who paired the teaser trailer of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey before showings of Jurassic Park Rebirth.

The first footage from Fire and Ash ran at CinemaCon in April. Since then, select press members have seen the trailer at Fantastic Four screenings. According to Entertainment Weekly, the trailer primarily focused on the Mangkwan Clan, a new Na'vi clan known as the Ash people. Varang, played by Oona Chaplin, is the leader of the Ash Clan, who inhabit the land near an active volcano.
The Mangkwan Clan is not friendly. They soon come into conflict with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and their family. EW reports that the footage shows Neytiri firing arrows at the Ash Clan, while Varang holds a flamethrower.
Avatar creator James Cameron previously stated that he wanted to blur the lines between good and evil by introducing a darker portrayal of the Na'vi.
'Varang is the leader of a people who have gone through an incredible hardship. She's hardened by that,' Cameron explained. 'One thing we wanted to do in this film is not black-and-white simplistic. We're trying to evolve beyond the 'all humans are bad, all Na'vi are good' paradigm.''
The trailer also previews another Na'vi clan, the Wind Traders, a more peaceful group who float on gigantic creatures in the clouds. Plus, the RDA remains a top threat to the Na'vi.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third film in the franchise, following 2009's Avatar and 2022's Avatar: The Way of Water, two of the three highest-grossing films of all time. Avatar ranks first at $2.9 billion, and The Way of Water is third with $2.3 billion.
Avatar: Fire and Ash opens in theaters on December 19, 2025. Two more Avatar sequels are in development. Avatar 4 is slated for December 2029, and Avatar 5 is scheduled for December 2031.

See Meryl Streep back on set as Miranda Priestly for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

Meryl Streep is back as Miranda Priestly. The Oscar-winning actress was photographed Wednesday on the set of the upcoming film "The Devil Wears Prada 2" in New York City. Streep was spotted dressed as Miranda, the character she played in the original "The Devil Wears Prada" movie, wearing sunglasses, a brown leather skirt and long coat, high heels and her signature short, silver hairstyle. In addition to Streep, original "The Devil Wears Prada" stars Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are returning for the sequel, 20th Century Studios confirmed to ABC News in June. Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh will also star in the film as Miranda's new husband, according to 20th Century Studios. "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is reportedly scheduled to be released next year. 20th Century Studios announced on June 30 that "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is in production by sharing a teaser video on Instagram showing a red pair of high heels. Audio for the video featured iconic lines from the first film, including Miranda's voice saying, "By all means, move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me." The video ended with Miranda saying, "Don't be ridiculous Andrea, everybody wants this," before adding, "That's all." The original "The Devil Wears Prada" film was adapted from the novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger. The film follows Hathaway's character, Andy Sachs, on her journey to fit in with the rest of the fashion industry after she is hired as co-assistant to Streep's character Miranda, the editor-in-chief of the fictional fashion magazine Runway. Plot details for the sequel have not been released.

Leonardo DiCaprio Is on the Run from Sean Penn in Explosive 'One Battle After Another' Trailer

Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn are playing a game of cat-and-mouse in their new movie. On Thursday, July 24, Warner Bros. released the latest trailer for filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie One Battle After Another, which stars DiCaprio, 50, as a former revolutionary figure who is being hunted by Penn's police character, Steven Lockjaw. In the trailer, Teyana Taylor's character — who shares a child with DiCaprio's character — appears to be apprehended by law enforcement some time prior to the start of the movie's events, leaving DiCaprio's character and his daughter (played by Chase Infiniti) to go on the run and seek refuge with an ally (portrayed by Benicio del Toro.) One Battle After Another also stars Wood Harris, Alana Haim and Regina Hall, the latter of whom recently told PEOPLE that she was "so excited to be part of a film that" Anderson, 55, was directing. 'I was incredibly curious: 'What is this movie?' ... There's a lot of laughter, strong messaging, humor, wit," she said of reading the film's script for the first time. 'The cast, I loved,' she added, calling the ensemble 'an incredible group … I love Leo, Benicio, Sean Penn — Teyana's amazing.' DiCaprio himself described One Battle After Another as "an incredibly epic movie [that] has such scope and scale" when he appeared at CinemaCon 2025 in April to tease the film. "A lot of writer-directors are incredibly rigid, but his ability to work with actors is so unique," DiCpairo said of Anderson at that presentation; he called it an "honor" to work with the filmmaker. Sacha Baron Cohen stuns with jacked physique after Marvel debut: See his new look

Borat who? Sacha Baron Cohen is sporting a shockingly different look these days. As he enters the Marvel-verse as Mephisto, the notorious supervillain, Cohen has ditched his signature "confused comic" look for a figure that is well, jacked. On the cover of Men's Fitness U.K., Cohen shows off bulging biceps, a freshly shaven beard and an unmistakable 6-pack. That Cohen would go all in for his transformation is no surprise; he is perhaps best known for his tireless commitment to the bit, going full character-actor as Borat or Ali G, for the benefit of political satire. Cohen worked with celebrity trainer Alfonso Moretti to get in shape for his role in Marvel's "Ironheart," according to Men's Fitness. The comedian said his workout routine included 100 push-ups a day, while Moretti said his diet was "high fibre, low sugar, plenty of protein — nothing fancy, nothing extreme." On his Instagram story, the "Borat" star shared the Men's Fitness cover and joked, "This is not AI, I really am egotistical enough to do this." "Some celebs use Ozempic, some use private chefs, others use personal trainers," he wrote. "I did all three." In another Instagram story, Cohen joked he is "hard launching my mid-life crisis" and "debuting my new character: middle aged man who replaced beer with protein shakes." On July 1, Cohen made a surprise appearance in the Disney+ series "Ironheart" as Mephisto, who is essentially the Marvel comics equivalent of Satan. In the show, the main villain is revealed to have made a "deal with the devil" with Mephisto for his powers. The series' title character, Riri Williams, eventually makes her own bargain with Mephisto to bring back a loved one. It hasn't been confirmed when or where Cohen might return as Mephisto, but the character could have a major role in Marvel's future. In the comics, Mephisto has been involved in storylines connected to characters like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. Mephisto's on-screen debut was highly anticipated, but Cohen's casting had not been officially announced prior to his "Ironheart" debut. "He's one of the big, big, big bads in the comics that has a lot of tethers to characters that we've been working with for years, and also characters that we hopefully will work with in the future," Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, previously told USA TODAY. Winderbaum also teased Mephisto's possible big-screen debut, telling USA TODAY, "Without going into too much detail, the types of projects he will be in are not dependent on television."
