Nick Kyrgios makes Wimbledon appearance in Naomi Osaka's player box
But Osaka didn't even know he was there.
Kyrgios, 30, is missing his third consecutive Wimbledon Championships due to injury.
Last year the Aussie appeared in SW19 as a pundit for the BBC, but he was not re-signed by the Corporation this time around.
Nevertheless, Kyrgios has made the long trip across the world to be at Wimbledon.
Last week he appeared on stage at Wimbledon Theatre as part of his Good Trouble podcast tour.
And on day one of the tournament, he trudged out to Court 18 to watch Osaka in action.
Kyrgios is signed to Osaka's 'Evolve' management group.
The pair have also signed up to play in the US Open's revamped mixed doubles event in August.
Despite Wimbledon recording 33C temperatures today, incredibly Kyrgios wore more than one layer in the sweltering heat.
Osaka, 27, got her Championships off to a perfect start by beating Talia Gibson 6-4 7-6.
The Japanese superstar will meet either fifth seed Zheng Qinwen or Katarina Siniakova in the second round on Wednesday.
Nick Kyrgios made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon
Following her win, Osaka admitted that she didn't even know that Kyrgios had turned up: 'Oh, he was there? I did not hear anything, OK.'
The former world No1 added: 'Oh, my God. I jokingly told someone, 'Hey, I know Nick's around, maybe he wants to come to my match'.
'But I was joking, because I know we're two completely different players. Honestly, I would have loved to come to his matches, because I know he's pretty fun.
'Yeah, I think that's also a big part of why we're different is because I know he kind of tells his box what to do, and he probably would have noticed if I was in there. I kind of zone out most of the time.
'That's a little embarrassing that he was there.
'I guess it is cool that he was there.'

Two-time champ Pegula suffers upset loss in Montreal
American Jessica Pegula's bid for a three straight titles at the Canadian Open has ended with a three-set loss in Montreal. Thirty-five-year-old Anastasija Sevastova stunned the defending champion and No 3 seed on Friday, winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the round of 32. Ranked 386, Sevastova was granted entry into the main draw with a protected spot after suffering a challenging knee injury. She's the lowest-ranked player to beat someone in the top 10 since Angelique Kerber surprised Jelena Ostapenko more than a year ago at Indian Wells. Sevastova wasn't sure how she pulled off the upset. "Somehow, I was down 2-0 in the second set and started to play better and better," she said. "Third set, I played really good. Just trying to stay on the court as long as possible." The Latvian was playing only her 24th WTA Tour-level match in the past four years and had lost her last seven meetings against top five opponents. Her last big result came at the 2018 US Open when she defeated Sloane Stephens in her best Grand Slam singles performance. In the decisive third set, Sevastova scored two service breaks against Pegula to lock it up. She was better in the big moments, saving nine of 13 break points and converting six of 10. Sevastova can equal her best career result in Canada with a win on Sunday against Naomi Osaka who defeated Ostapenko 6-2, 6-4. Osaka has won three matches in Montreal including a second-round struggle when she saved two match points against Liudmila Samsonova. Meanwhile, No. 6 seed and Australian Open champion Madison Keys came back to defeat fellow American Caty McNally 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in two hours and 15 minutes. Keys converted her third match point with a forehand pass, breaking McNally for the fourth time. "Today I did a good job of bouncing back after the first set," Keys said. "Let go of the first set and move on. Happy I was able to do that."

English Premier League transfer news: Newcastle reject Liverpool offer for Alexander Isak
Liverpool have no imminent plans to make a second bid for Alexander Isak after having their £110m ($225m AUD) bid rejected, talkSPORT understands. The Reds made the huge offer for the Swedish striker on Friday morning, but it was turned down by Newcastle. And the nature of that rebuttal has meant the Reds have decided not to follow up with a second approach this transfer window. It is understood the club don't want to get dragged into a cycle of rejected bids. Liverpool now regard another bid as futile unless Newcastle change their stance and contact them. Personal terms over any potential deal are not expected to be an issue, as Isak wants the move to Anfield. The Magpies want to keep their star forward, or at least source a replacement before possibly agreeing to sell him. They have been pushing to bring in Benjamin Sesko, while Yoane Wissa is boycotting Brentford training as he eyes a transfer. Liverpool backed up their extreme interest with a monster bid for Isak, who is training away from his teammates too. The 25-year-old hasn't travelled on the Magpies' pre-season tour as he explores a potential move away from the club. He is currently training at his former club Real Sociedad in Spain and Newcastle are understood to be aware of the situation. Liverpool's opening offer came a week after Isak had admitted he wants to explore his options this summer. But unless Isak's side now start negotiations with the Reds again, it seems they won't be coming back in with a second bid. Making feelings known Liverpool's opening bid came after Newcastle fans made their feelings clear on Isak's situation. A banner was pictured hanging outside the club's training ground, reading: 'Isak is a pure rat.' Of course, this act won't reflect the entirety of the Toon fanbase, however, it shows that his reputation is now damaged to some. There is little sympathy from a part of the fanbase, but one person who does feel for him is teammate Anthony Gordon. Gordon had held talks with Liverpool over a potential move last summer, and it appeared to be close to completion. Newcastle fans made a banner calling Isak a “ratâ€ over his potential transfer to Liverpool. 😬 — The Anfield Buzz (@TheAnfieldBuzz) July 31, 2025 However, nothing ended up materialising and he went on to sign a new Newcastle contract in October. The England international has now opened up about that move and related it to what Isak is now going through. Gordon said in an interview with the Daily Mail: 'With PSR, I thought I was going to leave at some point in the window. It didn't happen. 'I had to get my head around that to begin with, and then to get my head around it again was hard. I'm a human being.' He added: 'I understand what Alex is going through. I feel for him. 'He will be going through a lot. The club is going through a lot. 'I hope everyone gets what they want in the end.'
