This Morning star brands P Diddy a 'thug' in live rant on air

Daily Mirror2 days ago
After Sean 'P Diddy' Combs was found not guilty of the most serious charges against him following a two month trial, a criminologist has hit out at his behaviour calling him a 'danger to women'
Criminologist Professor David Wilson launched a blistering attack on Sean 'P Diddy' Combs while on This Morning, branding the music mogul a "thug" and "a danger to women".
Wilson, who regularly appears on the ITV daytime show as a crime expert, shared his honest opinion as he discussed the fallout from Diddy's high-profile trial. He said: "The atmosphere outside the courtroom was a bit of a circus. Notice as well the reinvention. One of things that Puff Daddy has been really good at actually is reinventing himself. I saw the reinvention even at the trial. The finding of God, the espousal of religion.
"The saying that God was with him at every step of the way. So there's going to be another iteration of who this man is, and frankly, he's a thug and he's a danger to women and it's really sad that he doesn't go to prison for as long as he should."
His explosive remarks follow Combs being found guilty of two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. However, the 55-year-old star was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which could have carried a life sentence.
Combs, who faces up to 20 years behind bars for the charges he was convicted of, is still in custody after Judge Arun Subramanian denied his request for bail, citing a "disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence".
During the reading of the verdict, the rapper reportedly fell to his knees in court with his head in his hands, while supporters in the gallery broke into cheers.
Diddy's legal team are hoping to secure a lighter sentence of between 21 and 27 months. Prosecutors, however, are pushing for a longer term of up to 63 months – which is just over five years. A remote hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday to determine the timeline for sentencing.
Combs' former partner Cassie Ventura has submitted a letter to the judge urging Subramanian to keep the rapper in custody, describing him as a danger to victims and the wider community.
The appeal, which was written via her attorney Douglas H. Wigdor, read: "We write as counsel for Cassandra Ventura (Ms Ventura) to respectfully request that the Court deny Mr Combs to be released pending his sentencing on his two convictions under 18 U.S.C. 2421.
"Pursuant to the Bail Reform Act, 18 U.S.C. 1343(a)(2), detention is mandatory post-conviction on these charges, and Ms Ventura believes that Mr Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community. We thank the Court for its time and attention to this matter."
Speculation has been rife over whether Donald Trump might consider pardoning Combs, given their former friendship, but the US President has said he would "certainly look at the facts" before making any such decision.

Coronation Street fans gobsmacked as they realise two stars are mother and son

Coronation Street has seen a number of real-life family members appear on the cobbles over the years - but fans were left stunned after realising two stars are mother and son Two stars of Coronation Street share more than just their ability to captivate audiences. Over the years, the ITV soap has welcomed several real-life family members onto its iconic cobbles. Real-life siblings, cousins, and even parents and their children have all graced the set. Cousins Brooke Vincent and Ellie Leach have made a name for themselves on the soap, while the late Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) was actually the real-life brother of footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn). But they're not the only ones with familial ties both on and off screen. Fans have recently been taken aback by one mother and son duo that appeared on the soap years ago. ‌ ‌ Back in 1985, Sue Jenkins joined the ITV soap as Gloria Todd. She became a regular face on the show as a barmaid at the legendary Rovers Return, reports the Daily Star. Sue also worked alongside Julie Goodyear who famously played landlady Bet Lynch. In addition to her Corrie role, Sue portrayed Jackie Corkhill in Brookside for nine years between 1992 and 2001. She also had a brief stint in Emmerdale in 2008, appearing in five episodes as Bonnie Drinkwater. However, it turns out she has a very famous son who also made an appearance on Corrie. In reality, Sue's son is Richard Fleeshman - who played Craig Harris. Richard joined the cast of Coronation Street back in 2002 with his TV family, the Harrises, who were hiding due to the witness protection programme. His character Craig certainly had some memorable moments. ‌ He adopted a goth persona, much to his father's dismay, and became Rosie Webster's (portrayed by Helen Flanagan) first boyfriend. The drama escalated when Katy Harris, Craig's sister, murdered their father following a heated argument about her clandestine relationship with Martin Platt. Their mother, Angela Harris, attempted to shield Katy, but overwhelmed by guilt, Katy took her own life. In the aftermath, Craig planned to flee to Berlin with Rosie, but ultimately departed alone, bidding farewell to the cobbles in 2006 for good. The revelation of Sue and Richard's Corrie connection left fans online astounded. On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer posted about Sue's stint on Corrie. ‌ Another fan responded: "That's Richard fleeshmans mum!". Another added: "Her real life son played Craig Harris, son of Psycho Tommy!".

Shopkeeper, 44, who groomed teen girl with vodka & vapes before sexually assaulting her inside store is jailed

A SHOPKEEPER who groomed a teenage girl with vodka and vapes before sexually assaulting her has been jailed. Daniel Hashmi was sentenced to 10 years for three counts of sexual assault, two counts of attempted rape and assault by penetration following a trial. Hashmi, 44, was arrested in December 2024 after the sister of a friend reported her suspicions to the police. The offences, Minshull Street Crown Court heard, were against the same victim. It was established the offences had taken place in Hashmi's business premises on Wellington Road South, Stockport, between November and December last year. Hashimi had bought vodka and vapes for the victim, on one occasion blocking the door in a back room to the shop with a sofa to prevent her leaving before sexually assaulting her. Following the conviction was also made the subject of a lifelong sexual harm protection order and hit with a restraining order. Hashmi, of Audley Road, Levenshulme, Manchester, was ordered to sign the sex offender register for life. The victim made the following statement in court: "I thought I could trust him. "He is an adult and they are meant to be protectors, but after this I will never trust anyone again. "This has affected me more than anyone will ever know - I feel betrayed and completely let down. "He has taken away the most important things that I will never get back - I feel used and that's the worst thing." How to report a sexual assault Contact a doctor or practice nurse at your GP surgery. Contact a voluntary organisation, such as Rape Crisis, Women's Aid, Victim Support, The Survivors Trust or Male Survivors Partnership. Call the 24-hour freephone National Domestic Abuse Helpline, run by Refuge, on 0808 2000 247. Speak to the rape and sexual abuse support line run by Rape Crisis England and Wales – you can call the helpline on 0808 500 2222 or use the online chat (both are free and are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year). Detective Constable Ben Swapp, of Stockport's Complex Safeguarding Team, said: 'The girl and her family have shown enormous courage, and we will continue to support them. "Aspire social workers and Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) are working with the victim to help in rebuilding her life. "GMP's Stockport Complex Safeguarding Team is a multi-agency team focused on protecting vulnerable children and young people from exploitation and harm. "This team, which includes police officers, social workers, and other professionals, works to identify, assess, and respond to safeguarding concerns, particularly those related to child exploitation. "We are absolutely committed to removing offenders like Hashimi from the streets, as the danger he poses to society, and particularly to children, is significant. 'Hopefully today's sentence and our investigation will give victims the confidence to report these types of crimes and trust us to investigate them thoroughly to bring the perpetrators to justice.' Steps to Keep Your Child Safe From Grooming By Emma Kenny, true crime psychologist and parenting expert Encourage your child to share their day-to-day experiences. Ask who they talked to on the way home, what happened at the bus stop, and if anything made them feel uncomfortable. The more openly you talk, the more confident they'll be to speak up if something feels off. If possible, arrange for your child to walk or travel with friends. Identify safe spaces along the route, trusted neighbours or shops where they can go if they feel threatened. Groomers often switch to online contact once they've made initial in-person connections. Monitor your child's digital devices in a respectful but proactive way. Agree on ground rules for social media use, and encourage them to show you anything that makes them feel uneasy. If your parental alarm bells are going off, do not dismiss those feelings. Challenge unusual behaviour or new relationships gently but firmly. Seek professional advice if you suspect your child is at risk. If you have any evidence or strong suspicions that someone is grooming your child, contact the police immediately. Support and guidance from organisations like the NSPCC or Barnardo's can also be invaluable in helping you navigate this distressing situation.
