Sam Thompson 'blown away' as he crosses Soccer Aid finishing line in tears
Sam Thompson has finally made it, as he just crossed the finish line in Manchester in tears on Friday, June 6. The former I'm A Celeb star was met by his sister Louise who was overwhelmed with emotion as they shared a huge hug.
The Made In Chelsea star was honoured to recieve a message from the Prime Minister as he crossed the finish line after receiving support from Keir Starmer.
He told the Mirror it's 'mad' that the Prime Minister said he was 'inspiring'. "I can't believe the prime minister knows my name," Sam said.
The 32 year old admitted: "I am totally broken - but so happy . The fact this challenge has grabbed everyone's attention is just so incredible and I have just been blown away!"
While on his Matchball Mission for UNICEF, Sam suffered a calf strain and had to use a bicycle after receiving advice from a medical team. He's been supported along the way by pals including Pete Wicks, Josie Gibson and Love Island's Chris Hughes.
Fans were left in tears as he was also reunited with his former campmate Tony Bellew on Thursday, who came to his aid with a speed boat to get him across the finish line.
He told Hits Radio Breakfast Show's team: "On the first day I did the first marathon and on the last 2k I felt like I'd been shot in the back of the leg and I've completely torn the calf muscle but it's fine I'm strapped up!"
After finishing his gruelling day two, Sam said the toughest parts of the day were the weather conditions. "We were absolutely drenched, and my back was aching, but having Chris there kept me going," he said.

Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson take relationship to next level in sweet snap
Love Island star Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson took their relationship to the next level by going Instagram official this evening after sparking up a romance earlier this year Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson took their relationship to the next level and shared a sweet snap of them sharing a kiss on social media. The Love Island star and the One Direction singer have been dating for several months, but have been keeping their romance away from social media besides a few comments and likes. She was previously spotted singing along at her boyfriend's concert as the 28-year-old went to support her 33-year-old partner at his show in Zurich last month. The sighting comes not long after the loved-up couple were seen having fun together at this year's Glastonbury Festival. And now, Zara took to her Instagram page to share a selfie she took of the two sharing a kiss. In the snap, seemingly taken on holiday, Zara smiled as she held his cheek and gave him a kiss. Louis looked happy as he held the camera. It comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen. Friends and fans were delighted with the social media milestone and rushed to share their happiness for the couple. "Yaaaay," Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri wrote. Ellie Louise Leach added: "Soooooo here for this," and another posted: "Love seeing you glowing and happy." One fan joked: "I'm so happy that my boyfriend has a girlfriend." The couple first started romance rumours earlier in the year after being photographed on a cosy date in Suffolk. The moment in March came just a short time after Zara's split from her long-term boyfriend, Sam Thompson. Sam and Zara called time on their relationship for good in December 2024. They had initially met in 2019 after she shot to fame on Love Island. They took a break but soon got back together and seemed to be hopelessly in love until it was announced they went their separate ways after five years together. Despite Zara being in a new relationship, it's been said that Sam isn't so keen to date again. At one point, he dated Samie Elishi but they soon called time on their brief romance. After their split, he was spotted back on celebrity dating app Raya. He later made the decision to stay single for some time. Speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast, Sam said: "I'm going to work on myself. No dating, I'm not ready and I've realised that."

Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson 'hard launch' relationship with snogging snap
After months of keeping their relationship under wraps, Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson have confirmed their romance with a passionate kiss. The One Direction star, 33, was spotted on a date in Suffolk with Love Island alum Zara, 28, earlier this year, igniting romance rumours. The pair was snapped looking cosy several times in the past few months, and could be seen commenting on each other's posts on social media, but had yet to confirm they were officially together. Seemingly tired of keeping their feelings out of the spotlight, Zara has now shared an intimate selfie taken by Louis of the pair kissing. The presenter was holding his face while he wrapped one arm around her and held a camera with the other. The pair both had their eye closed in the close-up snap, with Zara tagging Louis in the post, so there was no mistake about who she was kissing. The star captioned the post with a love heart emoji and nothing else – sending fans into a tailspin. 'OMFG THE HARD LAUNCH,' said hazewindannelies. 'Omg it's official 💗,' said 0liv1a.x0. Louis sister Lottie commented on the sweet snap: 'Miss you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️' Even after attending Glastonbury together, Louis only shared one group snap including Zara – and had yet to confirm with such a bold post. The group shot saw Louis and Zara cuddling up to each other, with both appearing to try and go incognito wearing caps and sunglasses. Another photo showed him wearing a T-shirt which read 'hopeless romantic'. More Trending Louis simply captioned his post 'Glasto 25', while Zara also commented that it was 'the best weekend ever'. In the weeks after Louis and Zara were spotted on their dinner date in March, they both dropped several hints on social media they were together, firstly when posting similar videos from a concert in Los Angeles followed by a snap of her at brunch with his wrist tattoo in the background. The couple's romance comes just a few months after Zara split from long-time boyfriend – I'm A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson, 32. The couple dated for several years, with their brief breakup documented in episodes of the reality TV series, Made In Chelsea. Got a story? 'I was set on fire aged 3 - 300 surgeries later, a special gift has given me my life back'
A woman who experienced a freak horror accident at the age of three has thanked the tattoo artist who helped heal her trauma with a special design - and has nominated her for a Pride of Britain award A mum who tattoos beautiful designs over scar tissue to give people back their confidence has been nominated for a Pride of Britain award. Artist Kate Challinor, who is based in Leeds, has been praised by her friend Sarah Allum, 49, after she was gifted an arm tattoo through Kate's charity, the Inkredible Foundation, to cover up extensive burns from a freak childhood accident. Mum of two Kate, 46, suffered years of surgeries due to her own health issues, which left her with permanent scarring. 'I wouldn't have had the confidence to go somewhere to have my scars covered,' she says. With the encouragement of a friend, she decided to teach herself how to use a tattoo gun. After 12 months of practise, she was ready for her first client: a pal who was left with scarring after having a single mastectomy to treat breast cancer. After two years of freelancing, Kate launched the Inkredible Foundation in May 2023 - a charity that offers tattoos of any size to cover scars, completely for free. And in the short time since its launch, Kate has tattooed more than 70 women left with surgical scars that were having a ''detrimental effect'' on their daily lives. Kate says: 'It's about making them feel beautiful again. Every scar has got its own story. Everyone who comes through the door, if they've got a scar, they've usually got trauma. They want to heal from their trauma, and having the tattoo is just part of that.' She adds: 'Some of these ladies, especially the breast cancer survivors, wouldn't let their husbands see them naked again, so it's lovely helping them get their confidence back. Their husbands love me! 'We should be proud of our scars. Usually they're a result of surviving something; they're a reminder to us to celebrate what we've overcome.' Sarah Allum found out about the charity and, in October 2024, travelled from her home in Cornwall to meet Kate and to start the two-day process of covering the third-degree burn scars on her right arm and shoulder. 'I was set on fire aged three and sustained 46% third-degree full thickness burns,' she tells the Mirror. 'I've had more than 300 surgeries to date on my burns, which cover the right side of my body; my chin, neck, chest, torso, right arm, underarm and shoulder. 'It's basically most of my right side - front side, and back from my chin and hip.' Sarah was thrilled with the results of Kate's work and the positive impact it has had on her mental health. 'I'm more outgoing in myself,' she smiles. 'I'm happier. My kids have noticed the difference, too. This is the first summer in my life I have felt good wearing a short-sleeved top. 'After my early trauma, I can never overstate what a huge step mentally that has been for me - and I have Kate to thank.' Sarah has nominated Kate as a Local Hero in the 2025 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises. 'Kate has her own health struggles, yet she puts 110% into everything she does,' Sarah added. 'She has gifted so many people with tattoos that change people's lives in such a positive way. 'I was one of those lucky people. The confidence she has given me is fantastic. I owe this beautiful lady the world for what she has gifted me.' Kate adds: 'I'm honoured and touched that I've been nominated for a Pride of Britain award, that's lovely to me that someone believes in me that much.' The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises honour the nation's unsung heroes, with the star-studded celebration screened every year on ITV.
