Saudi Gazette05-03-2025
Dr Soliman Abdel Kader Fakeeh Hospital Company and its Subsidiaries ('Fakeeh Care Group', 'FCG', 'Fakeeh Care', the 'Company' or the 'Group'), a leading fully integrated academic healthcare provider listed on TASI (SYMBOL: 4017 and ISIN code SA562GSHUOH7), announced on Wednesday its financial results for the full year ended 31 December 2024 reporting revenues of SR2.8 billion, up by a solid 20% y-o-y. Net Profit for the year reached SR 263.7 million, up 36% y-o-y compared to the adjusted[1] figure of SR 193.8 million in FY-2023, with net profit margin expanding c.110 bps to 9.4% versus an adjusted1 8.3%.
Revenue growth during the year was driven by a higher number of patients served in Jeddah as well as the ramp up at Riyadh Hospital; an improved business mix that enhanced average revenue per patient across the Group and a growing contribution from the Group's Operate and Manage (O&M) contracts.
In FY-2024, Fakeeh Care Group served 1.74 million patients (including inpatient admissions and paid outpatient visits) reflecting a solid 12.5% year-on-year increase. The Group's surgical procedures and deliveries also posted double-digit year-on-year growth in FY-2024.
Commenting on the Group's performance, FCG's President Dr. Mazen Soliman Fakeeh said: 'As we reflect on a year of exceptional progress, I am proud to share that Fakeeh Care Group has met its strategic and financial targets in 2024. With SR2.8 billion in revenue—a 20% year-on-year increase — our performance emphasizes the strength of our integrated healthcare model, the dedication of our teams, and the trust placed in us by our patients and partners across the Kingdom. Our success is rooted in a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and accessibility, while our unique three-pillar ecosystem—Healthcare Services, Medical Education, and Technology — continues to set us apart.'
'Guided by our post-IPO roadmap, we are expanding our footprint to bring world-class healthcare to underserved communities across the Kingdom. In that regard, Fakeeh's expansion strategy is on track with our Riyadh Hospital continuing to ramp-up towards operational capacity, and with the completion of DSFH Madinah — set to commence operations in March 2025 — marking a new milestone in our mission to reinforce Fakeeh's leadership in Saudi Arabia's healthcare sector. These new facilities alongside targeted land acquisitions and partnerships in Riyadh, Madinah, and Makkah exemplify our approach to scaling capacity while leveraging our proven hub-and-spoke model as a blueprint for delivering comprehensive, patient-centric care across the Kingdom.'
[1] Comparable Net Profit figure and Attributable Profits for FY-2023 are adjusted to exclude non-recurring financing income amounting to SAR 38.2 million. These amounts were related to a long-term receivable from FCG's UAE related party, which was settled as of September 2023
During FY-2024, all the Group's business verticals experienced growth and reinforced the Fakeeh Health Care integrated platform. Namely, the Group's Home Healthcare division has expanded its operations nationally reaching beyond Jeddah, Riyadh, Madinah, and Makkah to two new cities: Abha and Dammam. Additionally, Fakeeh Emergency Medical Services continued to expand its fleet which reached 83 ambulances as of year-end, bolstering the Group's hub-and-spoke model with the largest private ambulatory fleet across the Kingdom.Meanwhile, Fakeeh Vision expanded to 17 locations with the opening of eight new stores, four of which in key locations across Riyadh. The brand is set to open eight additional stores in 2025, further strengthening its presence in Riyadh and expanding into Dammam and Alkhobar. Lastly, Fakeeh College welcomed 352 new students, increasing its active student count by over 10%. The college is developing a 6,500-square-meter Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre which is set to begin accepting students in the new academic year starting September 2025.Fakeeh Care Group secured numerous accreditations and awards throughout the year, most notably: DSFH Jeddah featured in Newsweek's 2025 "World's Best Hospitals' ranking as 1private hospital for the 4consecutive year and ranked 2across all hospitals in Saudi Arabia (up from 3in 2023); DSFH Jeddah laboratory team achieved re-accreditation by CAP with zero deficiencies; Riyadh Hospital received CEBAHI and JCIA accreditations underscoring FCG's commitment to excellence; Basatin and Nuzha Medical Centers received outstanding JCIA re-certifications, ensuring high standards in patient care; Riyadh Hospital received an institutional accreditation from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and the approval of the Saudi Board Program in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, further strengthening Fakeeh's role in medical education and training; lastly the Group's IPO was recognized as the "Local IPO Deal of the Year" by Global Banking & Markets, marking a significant milestone in the region's healthcare investment landscape.'The year ahead will be marked by continued ramp-up of our new facilities, an increasing focus on complex care, and prudent costs management and improved operational efficiency as we work to strengthen the Group's profitability. In parallel, with a strengthened balance sheet, reduced debt, and a net cash position, we are well-equipped to fund organic growth and strategic opportunities and continue delivering on our expansion plans. Coupled with Saudi Arabia's supportive macroeconomic environment, Fakeeh Care Group is poised to deliver enduring value for shareholders while advancing the nation's healthcare transformation in line with the Kingdom's 2030 vision.'In light of Fakeeh's strong performance and its commitment to deliver shareholder value, the Board recommends — subject to the approval of the AGM — a cash dividend for FY-2024 of SR0.3 per share, amounting to SR69 million and equivalent to 24% of the Group's attributable net profit for the year.Fakeeh Care Group's complete FY-2024 Earnings Release with management's analysis of the Company's performance is available for download on en.fakeeh.care

Saudi banks' June profits hit record $2.63bn amid loan growth, digital boom

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's banking sector maintained its momentum in June, as aggregate profits before zakat and taxes climbed to SR 9.9 billion ($2.63 billion) — the highest monthly result on record. Data from the Saudi Central Bank, known as SAMA, shows that profits were approximately 28 percent higher than the same month last year, the fastest annual growth in six months, highlighting the sector's resilience despite global challenges. For the first half of 2025, cumulative profits reached SR51 billion, roughly 20 percent higher than the SR42.5 billion during the same period in 2024. The strong performance builds on a solid first half for the Kingdom's banking industry, which has benefited from Saudi Arabia's robust macroeconomic fundamentals and policy reforms. Supported by steady credit demand from both corporate and retail segments, healthy liquidity levels, and Vision 2030-linked infrastructure and private sector projects, lenders have maintained profitability despite global interest rate uncertainty. Analysts attribute the rise in profits in the second quarter to robust lending growth, lower impairment charges, and the sector's embrace of digital banking. AInvest noted in a July article that Saudi National Bank, the Kingdom's largest lender, delivered 17.3 percent higher net profit in the second quarter, supported by increased net special commission income and reduced credit-loss provisions. Across the sector, net profits rose 18 to 25 percent as lenders benefited from fintech integration, deeper capital markets, and broader economic diversification under Vision 2030. The report highlighted that more than 261 fintech firms now operate in the Kingdom and 79 percent of retail transactions are processed digitally, boosting fee‑based income and lowering costs. SAMA's June bulletin showed the banking system's assets reach SR4.8 trillion and claims on the private sector stood at SR3.1 trillion, reflecting strong corporate and consumer credit demand. Capital adequacy ratios remained robust at 19.3 percent, well above the regulatory minimum. The banking sector's strength has been reflected on the Saudi Exchange. Tadawul's second quarter report showed that banks accounted for SR61.58 billion of traded value — the highest among all sectors. This leadership in trading activity, ahead of most other sectors, signals strong investor confidence in banks' earnings momentum and their pivotal role in financing Vision 2030 projects. Saudi banks enter the second half of 2025 with solid capital buffers, growing fee‑based income, and a clear role in the Kingdom's economic diversification agenda. Continued reforms, including the National Debt Management Center's restructuring of $32 billion in sukuk to deepen capital markets and ongoing fintech proliferation, will support earnings. However, analysts at AInvest cautioned that geopolitical tensions, potential margin compression as global interest rates ease, and regulatory hurdles in construction financing could moderate growth. Even so, with digital adoption surging and non-oil sectors expanding, the banking industry appears well-positioned to sustain strong profitability while supporting Saudi Arabia's transformation into a diversified, knowledge‑based economy.

Fakeeh group delivers 1H 2025 revenue of SR1.51 billion, up 13% year-on-year

Dr Soliman Abdel Kader Fakeeh Hospital Company and its Subsidiaries ('Fakeeh Care Group', 'FCG', 'Fakeeh Care', the 'Company' or the 'Group'), a leading fully integrated academic healthcare provider listed on TASI (SYMBOL: 4017 and ISIN code SA562GSHUOH7), announced its financial results[1] for the second quarter ended 30 June 2025. Growth during the quarter was supported by higher patient volumes and a richer case‑mix as activity normalized post‑Ramadan. The total number of patients served reached 465 thousand+ in 2Q‑2025 (+16% YoY), taking 1H‑2025 volumes to ~900 thousand (+8% YoY). Outpatient and inpatient volumes grew 15% and 16%, respectively, in the quarter translating into combined revenue growth of 18%. Pricing and case‑mix tailwinds added support to the average revenue per outpatient visit and inpatient admission contributing 3% YTD on a consolidated revenue level. Jeddah's double‑digit growth was central driver, complemented by accelerating throughput in Riyadh and early activity in Madinah. At the headline level, the Group delivered 2Q‑2025 revenue of SR812 million (+24% YoY) and Net Profit after Zakat of SR68 million (+59% YoY); 1H‑2025 revenue was SR1.51 billion (+13% YoY). Commenting on the Group's performance, FCG's President Dr. Mazen Soliman Fakeeh said: 'In the second quarter of the year, Fakeeh Care Group revenues reached to SR812 million, posting a solid 24% year on year growth thanks to a 16% year‑on‑year growth of patients served and a richer case mix. Jeddah's year-on-year expansion in census and revenue continues to demonstrate the strength of our brand and clinical depth, while Riyadh's disciplined ramp‑up continues to progress—together with the recently opened DSFH Madinah—our geographic reach continues to broaden. Our platform remained a robust earnings engine with Attributable to Shareholders profits reaching SR154 million in the first half (SR82M in 2Q25) or 28% up year-on-year, after absorbing the anticipated start‑up operating losses from ramping facilities—investments that are underpinning our multi‑year growth trajectory. In Riyadh, operational beds increased to 102 (from 71 a year earlier), supporting mid‑30% growth in outpatient and inpatient volumes and a sharp rise in surgical throughput as higher‑complexity services scale. In Madinah, the Group admitted its first patients in the initial 48 beds (of 200 beds) under a disciplined, quality‑first ramp that is expected to build steadily. In Jeddah, the flagship network remained the primary revenue center, sustaining double‑digit volume growth and strong pull‑through across service lines. The Group broke ground on DSFMC Al Zahraa in Jeddah—developed in partnership with Yasser Yousef Naghi Investment Company—a key spoke in the hub‑and‑spoke strategy. The center will bring comprehensive, high‑quality care closer to the community via one‑day surgical suites, a 24/7 emergency department, an integrated diagnostic hub, and key medical specializations. Dr. Mazen Soliman Fakeeh added: 'Our integrated ecosystem—with tertiary hospitals, medical centers, home healthcare, emergency medical services, medical education, technology and retail medical offerings that complete our service continuum—continues to differentiate Fakeeh Care. We continue to invest in our digital infrastructure, embedding tools that optimize patient journeys, enhance resource utilization, and reinforce our value-based care model, elevating patient reported outcomes.' 'Looking ahead, our priorities are clear: drive utilization across our ramping facilities with strategic case mix refinement in Jeddah and Riyadh; execute a disciplined, quality first ramp in Madinah; advance milestones across our growth agenda; and continue embedding digital and data driven workflows that unlock efficiency while elevating care standards. We aim to further broaden our preventative medicine and early intervention offerings, strengthening longitudinal patient engagement. Throughout, we remain disciplined in capital deployment—preserving a conservative balance sheet as we fund expansion and cement the foundation for a highly scalable and sustainably profitable healthcare ecosystem. With a resilient mature platform, a scalable operating model, and a deepening role in the Kingdom's healthcare transformation, we are well positioned to create enduring value for patients, staff, students, shareholders and the broader community.' he concluded. During the quarter, the Group achieved JCI Enterprise Accreditation, becoming the first private healthcare group in the Kingdom to earn system‑wide endorsement—validating governance, safety culture, standardized clinical pathways and enterprise risk systems, and ensuring the quality DNA of the flagship facilities scales consistently as the network grows. In parallel, Fakeeh Emergency Medical Services (MedE) supported the Kingdom's Hajj operations through the mobilization of ambulatory teams and ambulances and the CSR operation of Namira Hospital at peak demand, deepening the Group's partnership with national health authorities and reinforcing its role in serving broader societal needs.
