Weather Office Predicts Rain With Thunderstorms In Delhi Tomorrow
The India Meteorological Department has predicted drizzles or rain with thunderstorms in the national capital on Sunday, an official said.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 0.9 notch below the season's average, according to the IMD. The minimum temperature hovered around 25.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
The relative humidity was recorded at 83 per cent at 5.30 pm.
Delhi's air quality was recorded in the "satisfactory" category at 6 pm, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 56, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

Cloudburst hits Uttarkashi, 190 rescued Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said 190 people have been rescued from Dharali village in Uttarkashi, which was struck by a flash flood triggered by a cloudburst in the upper catchment of the Kheer Ganga river. Speaking to PTI, Dhami said evacuation plans are underway for pilgrims stranded in Gangotri Dham via the Nelong Valley. 'All arrangements have been made and they will be evacuated very soon,' he said. He confirmed that all 190 rescued individuals are safe and have been moved to secure locations.

Dry spell continues as temperature rises
NEW DELHI: The capital continued to reel under warm and humid conditions on Wednesday, as day temperatures climbed marginally, even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted the possibility of very light rain or drizzle. According to IMD officials, Delhi recorded no rainfall during the 24-hour period ending 5:30 pm, marking another dry day for the capital. The sky remained partly cloudy throughout the day, with south-westerly winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 15 kmph. The Safdarjung observatory, the city's base station, logged a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees celsius, 0.6 degree celsius above normal, while the minimum settled at 26.1 degrees celsius, which is marginally below normal by 0.8 degrees celsius. Other stations also reported similar conditions. Lodi Road was the warmest, with the mercury rising to 36 degrees celsius, while Pusa recorded the lowest maximum at 33.1 degrees celsius. Karnataka rain: Moderate rainfall expected in Bengaluru on August 7 after overnight rains
Bengaluru woke up to a wet Thursday following overnight rainfall in several parts of the city. As per the observation data of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bengaluru, recorded at 8.30 a.m. on August 7, Bengaluru city station recorded 25.4 mm rainfall, the HAL airport and the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) stations recorded 4 mm and 0.6 mm, respectively. The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 a.m. in Bengaluru city was 20.6 degree Celsius, and at HAL and KIA, the minimum temperatures were 20.4 and 21.2 degree Celsius, respectively. The IMD forecast for Bengaluru city and the neighbourhood for the next 48 hours states that there would be generally cloudy sky. 'Moderate rain, thundershowers likely at isolated places towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperature are very likely to be around 29°C and 20°C respectively,' IMD forecast stated. At 7 a.m. on August 7, IMD issued a nowcast stating that Bengaluru rural and Bengaluru urban areas are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places in next three hours.
