American defender Caleb Wiley again loaned to Watford by Chelsea
The 20-year-old left back joined Chelsea from Major League Soccer's Atlanta United last July and was loaned to Strasbourg for the 2024-25 season. He made three starts and three substitute appearances for the Ligue 1 club. His last appearance was Nov. 24, when he dislocated a shoulder during a collision against Nice.
Wiley had surgery, the loan was cut short and he was loaned to Watford, where he debuted on March 8.

With five minutes remaining Leicy Santos scored for Colombia to tie the game up again. In the penalty shoot-out, like England a week earlier, Brazil missed first. However, Colombia then failed to score two of their spot kicks and the stage was set for Marta to win the Copa America with her penalty. Remarkably, she missed the opportunity and the shoot-out went on into sudden death. After three more penalties were converted, Brighton's Jorelyn Carabalí was denied by Brazilian goalkeeper Lorena and the holders retained their title once more. After the match, Marta, who has now scored 122 international goals, was awarded the trophy for the Player of the Tournament in what is almost certainly her last Copa America Femenina, although that has been said before. On her missed penalty, she said after the game, "I asked God not to punish me so much. I entered the game as I was, was blessed with the equalizer, and then another. And then in the penalty shootout, I had the chance to close it out and missed. But I have these wonderful girls. I came back very shaken after the penalty kick, and they made me believe we would make it, that Lorena would save it." Brazil's Amanda Gutierres had scored five goals earlier in the tournament but was not selected to start the final. She came off the bench to score Brazil's second equaliser which helped earn her the award as the competition's top goalscorer. She believes 'a final like this is what women's soccer and the Copa América need. And now I'm realizing a dream of winning a title with the national team, a testament to Arthur Elias's work. I dedicate this to everyone who was part of the group and couldn't make it, to the entire coaching staff, and to all the Brazilians.' As a result of reaching the final, both Brazil and Colombia will qualify automatically to represent South America in the 2028 Women's Football Tournamrnt at the Los Angeles Olympic Games. As South American champions, Brazil have also earned themselves the right to take on England once more in the ne new UEFA-CONMEBOL showpiece, the Finalissima. England won the first edition in 2023, triumphing over Brazil at Wemble Stadium also after a penalty shoot-out. With the men's Finalissima between European champions Spain and South American champions Argentina still to be scheduled into the calendar, there are doubts however as to whether another edition will ever take place.

Bayern Munich are his longest term suitors, although they need to sell before they can buy. Teams from the bottom half of the Premier League have also come forward for the former Leipzig man but been knocked back. It's all promising – but nothing looks ready to happen yet. Inter may fall short in financial stakes for Chelsea star Like many have noted on social media already, we're always sceptical of rumours of Italian interest in our A list players. Serie A clubs just don't tend to have the budget to make those deals worthwhile at the very top end of the scale. There are always exceptions, but given Chelsea will be looking for for something like £40m for Nkunku, we can't see Inter making it work easily. Our best hope of moving the 27 year old on for a good fee seems to still be hoping Bayern have a little squad clearout and summon some funds for him.

SINGAPORE (AP) — French star Léon Marchand has broken one world record already in the 200-meter individual medley. He'll try for a second on Sunday in the 400 IM on the closing day of the swimming world championships in Singapore, a record he set two years ago in the worlds in Fukuoka, Japan. That mark is 4 minutes, 02.50 seconds. It would be Marchand's second gold in Singapore, where he's swimming a reduced schedule after winning four individual golds a year ago at the Paris Olympics. He will swim from Lane 1, entering with a relatively slow qualifying time. Summer McIntosh of Canada will be in the women's 400 IM, trying for her fourth gold. Her hope of winning five individual golds in the worlds — only Michael Phelps has done that — was crushed Saturday night when she was beaten by American Katie Ledecky in the 800 free. McIntosh finished third. Chinese 12-year-old Yu Zidi has the No. 3 qualifying time as she shoots for a medal. She picked up a bronze medal in a relay — she swam in a prelim but not the final — but an individual medal would be astounding. As a reminder, she is the same age as most sixth- or seventh-grade students, depending on the school system. The Americans, frustrated throughout the meet with a case of 'acute gastroenteritis' picked up in a training camp in Thailand, surged on Saturday with three golds to bring their gold-medal leading total to eight. Australia has seven. The Americans have several gold-medal chances in Sunday's eight finals. Among them: world-record holder Bobby Finke in the 1,500 free, and the men's and women's 4x100 medley relays. The Americans have the fastest qualifying times in both relays.
