SHAH ALAM - Singer Dayang Nurfaizah is choosing to keep her personal life private amid growing rumours that she is engaged and preparing to walk down the aisle soon.
The 44-year-old singer, whose full name is Dayang Nurfaizah Awang Dowty, denied that any date has been set for a wedding ceremony despite the ongoing speculation.
For now, she said her focus remained on her music career, specifically two exclusive concerts under the 'Janji With Dayang' banner, set to take place in Penang on Aug 23 and at Menara Kuala Lumpur on Sept 27.
'The only dates I'm focused on are for my exclusive shows, because I haven't released a full album in a long time. The last one was in 2017, so this is something very special,' she said at a press conference on Monday.
When asked about the possibility of marriage, the 'Di Pintu Syurga' singer replied with a smile and said 'Pray for the best for me.'
Previously, Dayang was rumoured to be romantically linked to popular singer and composer Hael Husaini, with social media speculating that the two were secretly engaged.
However, Hael had publicly denied the claims.
On her upcoming shows, the Sarawak-born singer said she intentionally chose to stage mid-scale performances to create a more personal and intimate experience for fans.
She also expressed gratitude for the strong support, as tickets for both shows sold out quickly.

He added that the gang would go to any length to 'kill small-time producers, directors and actors' who collaborate with the Sultan actor, warning that 'anyone who works with him will be responsible for their own life.' The incident took place outside Kapil's newly opened Kap's Cafe in Surrey on Thursday — the second such shooting at the establishment in less than a month. No injuries were reported, though the building sustained multiple bullet holes. The earlier attack occurred on July 10. The threats come after Salman appeared in the inaugural episode of the third season of Kapil's Netflix show, which premiered on June 21. Another claim of responsibility came from Harjeet Singh Laddi, also known as Laddi Khalistani, an operative of the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa International, who said the attack was in response to remarks about Nihang Sikhs' attire made on Kapil's show.
