Hezbollah MP Calls for National Unity Amid Israeli Aggression on Lebanon
Member of Hezbollah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Ibrahim Al-Moussawi reaffirmed the group's commitment to prioritizing the national interest and avoiding internal disputes, emphasizing the need for unity in the face of Israeli aggression.
'We refuse to be dragged into internal debates that deepen division at a time when Lebanon desperately needs cohesion and solidarity,' Mousawi stated, responding to criticism from MP Fadi Karam.
'The ongoing Israeli occupation and relentless attacks on our country demand a unified national stance.'
He highlighted constructive discussions held in the Foreign Affairs Committee, where members engaged in a productive dialogue with the foreign minister. 'Today's meeting laid the groundwork for shared national positions that can help us confront the grave challenges and threats facing Lebanon and the region,' he said.
Al-Mousawi concluded by urging all parties to focus on fostering national harmony. 'Scoring political points is not our objective. At this critical moment, nothing takes precedence over safeguarding Lebanon's unity.'

Qusayr was the base from which Hezbollah launched attacks against the Syrian opposition, fighting to support the now-deposed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, who was overthrown last December by the HTS rebels. It appears Hezbollah still maintains underground warehouses filled with heavy weapons. On the eve of Eid al-Adha, Israel bombed Hezbollah's underground drone factories . These developments underscore the disturbing reality that neither Israel nor Hezbollah truly cares about Lebanon's wellbeing. This is a recipe for disaster as Lebanon enters its crucial summer tourism season. Who in their right mind would visit Lebanon if Hezbollah is building drones practically next to Beirut airport? President Aoun has been dealing with Hezbollah diplomatically, using kid gloves to handle the organization. But it's obvious that Hezbollah is taking advantage of President Aoun's good character, rearming behind his back. Even more troubling is the fact that Hezbollah is not acting independently but is, in fact, a proxy of Iran. Its primary loyalty lies with Tehran's agenda, not with the Lebanese people. Hezbollah's actions are dictated by Iran's strategic calculations—using Lebanon as a bargaining chip in its negotiations with the United States. Hezbollah's only goal is to strengthen Iran's position at the negotiating table, even if that means dragging Lebanon into conflict and chaos. Hezbollah doesn't give a damn about Lebanon. Its weapons are not for the defense of Lebanese citizens but for the advancement of Iran's regional ambitions. Lebanon has become a hostage to Hezbollah's regional games, and the Lebanese people are paying the price. Mr. President, it's time to be bold. Disarm Hezbollah now, before it's too late. The fate of Lebanon—and the lives and livelihoods of its people—depend on it.

Israel warns of more Lebanon strikes if Hezbollah not disarmed
by Naharnet Newsdesk 6 hours Israel warned Friday that it will keep striking Lebanon until Hezbollah has been disarmed, hours after it hit Beirut's southern subrubs in what Lebanese leaders called a major violation of the November ceasefire. An Israeli military evacuation call issued ahead of Thursday's strikes sent huge numbers of residents of the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, long a bastion of Iran-backed Hezbollah, fleeing for their lives. The attack on what the Israeli military said was Hezbollah underground drone factories came on the eve of Eid al-Adha, one of the main religious festivals of the Muslim calendar. The strikes came around an hour after Israel's military spokesman issued an evacuation call, and sent plumes of smoke billowing over Beirut. The attack came six months after a ceasefire agreement was sealed in a bid to end hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel. "There will be no calm in Beirut, and no order or stability in Lebanon, without security for the State of Israel," Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement. "Agreements must be honored and if you do not do what is required, we will continue to act, and with great force," he threatened. Under the ceasefire brokered by the United States and France, Lebanon committed to disarming Hezbollah, which was once reputed to be more heavily armed than the state itself. The hostilities started when Hezbollah launched cross-border attacks on northern Israel in what it described as an act of solidarity with Gaza and the group's Palestinian ally Hamas following its October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and the brutal war that followed. The war on Lebanon left Hezbollah massively weakened, with a string of top commanders including its longtime leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah killed and weapons caches dotted around Lebanon incinerated. Following the strike on Thursday, Lebanon's leaders accused Israel of a "flagrant" ceasefire violation by launching strikes ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday. The prime minister too issued a statement condemning the strikes as a violation of Lebanese sovereignty. "I got a phone call from a stranger who said he was from the Israeli army," said the woman, Violette, who declined to give her last name. Israel also issued an evacuation warning for the Lebanese southern village of Ain Qana, around 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the border. The Israeli military then launched a strike on a building there that it alleged was a Hezbollah base, according to Lebanon's official National News Agency.
