Flipkart executives meet ministers to discuss MSME push, India listing
The executives shared updates on Flipkart's initiatives to onboard MSMEs, artisans, and small businesses across platforms, including the Flipkart marketplace, fashion arm Myntra, and travel subsidiary Cleartrip. The discussion also covered financial inclusion programs being developed through Flipkart's fintech platform, super.money.
As part of a broader alignment with India's evolving digital economy, Flipkart reaffirmed its intent to redomicile to India—a move widely seen as a precursor to a potential public listing, according to sources.
'We also reaffirmed our 'India First' commitment as we strengthen supply chain infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and help create a skilling ecosystem to train people, sellers, and underserved communities while creating new jobs and livelihood opportunities,' said Kumar in a LinkedIn post.
The executives met Prahlad Joshi to discuss the company's approach to consumer rights, sustainability, and its role in advancing India's digital economy.
Kumar said the discussion focused on the company's consumer-first policies and commitment to fair and transparent practices. 'With Minister Joshi, we discussed key consumer affairs priorities and shared Flipkart's efforts in maintaining transparent, fair, and consumer-friendly policies,' he said. 'We highlighted our strong focus on resolving customer grievances swiftly and effectively, driven by a customer-first mindset.'
Kumar also outlined Flipkart's sustainability efforts, including its push toward electric vehicle adoption, renewable energy usage, and eliminating single-use plastic across its supply chain.

Vacancies unfilled, UPSC to alert institutions about government jobs
In a first, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will prompt educational and professional institutions about recruitment advertisements as many vacancies remained unfulfilled due to lack of information among jobseekers. UPSC does the recruitment to fill Group A and Group B gazetted posts in Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and conducts regular examinations. Depending on the nature of duties, these recruitments require essential qualifications of educational and experience criteria. Ajay Kumar, Chairman, UPSC said, 'Apart from our regular examinations, UPSC receives recruitment requests from various Ministries and Departments for various government positions. To streamline and expedite the process, we are ensuring that the requests are received well in advance within a three-month window, from January to March, so that the process is planned in a better manner by clubbing similar recruitment cases and holding their common tests to complete the recruitment drive in a time-bound manner.' The Commission receives over 200 recruitment proposals annually which are subsequently advertised online. In 2025, over 240 recruitment cases have been received, ranging across medical, scientific, engineering, technical, legal, teaching, and specialised posts (management, finance, accounts, forensic audit etc. related), mostly at Group A and Group B Gazetted levels, the UPSC said. Presently, it advertises recruitment process through Employment News, its official website and official LinkedIn account. 'In the past, some disparities were observed in the number of applications we receive for different posts. During the scrutiny of cases, sometimes, the case becomes infructuous as no suitable applicant meeting the Recruitment Rules criteria is found,' Mr. Kumar said. 'Many cases receive disproportionately less number of applications. Sometimes the posts remained vacant or became infructuous during the interview stage as suitable candidates are not found by the interview board. In order to address these issues, and reach out to the needy, eligible and qualified candidates, we are rolling out new outreach measures, for our recruitment advertisements whereby... it is planned to send email alerts/updates to relevant institutions and organisations. These alerts would also be made available to other/private institutions, whoever requests for the same' Email alerts would be sent to universities, institutions, associations, professional and recognised bodies, and other institutions can also request the information by writing to ra-upsc@
