The Story Behind Lauren Sánchez's Multimillion-Dollar Engagement Ring
A side view of Lauren Sánchez's engagement ring.
As for the setting of the diamond ring, the sizable gemstone is held up on a thin, cathedral-style pavé band. The stone is also secured on each side by four prongs. The diamond pavé band is likely set in platinum to support the weight of the stones and wraps around the bride-to-be's finger. To offer an extra hint of glimmer, the ring is accented with two pavé hidden halos that help support the large stone alongside the thin band.
How Much Did Lauren Sánchez's Engagement Ring Cost?
While the exact cost of the diamond is unknown, jewelry expert Briony Raymond estimated that the price of Lauren Sánchez's engagement ring could range between $3 million and $5 million. 'The diamond appears to be extremely white; based on a clarity commensurate with such a high color grade, I would estimate the cost for such an extraordinary ring to be anywhere from $3 million to upwards of $5 million depending on the exact specifications of the diamond,' the jeweler previously told People. The exact rarity and GIA grading of the 30-carat pink diamond would determine the fluctuation in the price tag.
How Did Jeff Bezos Propose to Lauren Sánchez?
The couple got engaged in May 2023 while traveling on Bezos's three-masted superyacht, Koru. The Amazon founder hid the ring under Sánchez's pillow after the two shared a dinner under the stars. Sánchez told Vogue that she found the ring when heading to bed after she had removed her makeup for the night. 'When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,' she said. In the interview, Sánchez revealed that she also plans to change her name after the wedding. 'I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos,' she shared. Reflecting on taking on his name, Sánchez said, "I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously. We always look at each other and go, 'We're the team.' So everything's shared.'
As for the upcoming wedding plans, the couple has already kicked off festivities with a return to Bezos's yacht Koru for a foam party in Croatia. The ensuing wedding celebrations will occur in the Italian city throughout the weekend of June 27. In lieu of gifts, the couple's invitation reveals that the couple has requested their guests contribute a donation to the UNESCO Venice Office, CORILA to preserve Venice's lagoons, and the Venice International University to support sustainable research. Their celebrations will also be catered to predominately by local vendors from Venice, according to AP.

Why Shares in Advanced Auto Parts Crashed Today
A heavyweight Wall Street company gave a sell recommendation on the stock. It's a busy year for Advance Auto Parts, and it has a lot to prove after years of underperforming for investors. 10 stocks we like better than Advance Auto Parts › Shares in auto parts retailer Advance Auto Parts (NYSE: AAP) were lower by more than 8% as of 11 a.m. today. The move came after Goldman Sachs downgraded the stock from neutral to a sell, amid concerns that it was losing market share to competitors. In addition, the Goldman Sachs analyst believes the current valuation relies on a margin recovery, which might not occur in the current environment. It's hard enough for a Wall Street analyst to refrain from issuing a buy recommendation, so when a heavyweight like Goldman Sachs issues a sell rating, it has a significant impact. The analyst's channel checks suggest that Advance Auto may be losing market share and experiencing margin pressure, a more significant concern than the company's current valuation. After all, if management can turn around the company's lackluster performance, then the earnings recovery can be dramatic. Still, this is a company that's been in turnaround mode for over a decade, so a certain amount of skepticism is warranted. It's also a complicated trading environment. While management completed its store optimization program in March, it's still closing distribution centers, with a target to close 12 this year and end the year with 16, followed by the closure of another four next year. Given the importance of logistics and ensuring in-store parts availability in this industry, it wouldn't be surprising if the company encounters some headwinds. The only way the company can silence the doubters is by delivering on its guidance in 2025. If you believe the company is finally in turnaround mode, then today is a buying opportunity. However, cautious investors will look for at least a few quarters of evidence before drawing any conclusions worth acting on.
