Ammon News - Jordan has made meaningful strides in the Future of Growth Index, showing balanced progress across its four key pillars: Innovativeness, Inclusiveness, Sustainability, and Resilience.According to the first-quarter 2025 report from the Executive Program of the Economic Modernization Vision (2023–2025), Jordan scored 45.1 out of 100 in innovation, 53 in inclusiveness, 58.2 in sustainability, and 55 in resilience, highlighting a positive trajectory in national development efforts.To enhance the quality of employment and address skills-based job gaps, the Ministry of Labor launched targeted initiatives, including the employment of 1,000 job seekers across governorates through the Productive Branches Initiative. The ministry also delivered career counseling sessions and conducted a detailed analysis of the National Employment Program's beneficiaries to better understand the factors shaping their participation in the labor market.In line with its push toward greater digital equity, the government approved the 2025 Digital Inclusion Policy, aimed at expanding internet access and improving digital infrastructure, especially in underserved regions, supporting broader goals of technological empowerment and socioeconomic inclusion.Jordan also took steps to improve the quality of its data in global benchmarking. A new agreement with the World Economic Forum (WEF) will enable the country to conduct the Executive Opinion Survey for 2025–2026. The government is overseeing the survey's distribution and has finalized a representative sample of participants to ensure credible input into international indices. The Ministry of Planning also participated in the WEF's opening session and submitted the selected data sample, reinforcing Jordan's commitment to evidence-based policymaking.
In parallel, the government has reviewed all related sub-indicators of the Future of Growth Index to identify opportunities for further enhancement, working closely with relevant institutions to ensure continued progress. Petra

The declaration aims to elevate bilateral relations between Jordan and Spain to a strategic level in the development-related, economic, commercial, social, cultural and defence fields, with the aim of achieving goals of mutual interest, and enhancing security and stability. In addition, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the agriculture sector, and an extradition agreement were signed. During expanded talks with Prime Minister Sánchez, His Majesty emphasised the significance of these agreements, which will serve to enhance cooperation between the two countries across all fields, and noted the importance of maintaining coordination, and building on the two countries' long history of mutual respect and commitment to the pursuit of peace and stability around the world. The King expressed appreciation for Spain's support to Jordan's services to refugees, as well as its economic and administrative modernisation efforts, noting readiness to deepen cooperation in the economic and tourism fields. Speaking about regional developments, His Majesty praised Spain's position calling for an end to the war on Gaza, and ensuring that delivery of humanitarian aid reaches all areas of the Strip. The King highlighted the importance of Spain's decision to recognise the Palestinian state, a step that will lead to more support for the Palestinian people. His Majesty said work is underway to gain more European support for the Arab plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents, commending Spain as the voice of reason and wisdom. The King warned of the dangers of unilateral measures targeting Palestinians in the West Bank, and Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. His Majesty reiterated the need to step up international efforts to support Palestinians in gaining their legitimate rights to establish their independent state on the basis of the two-state solution. For his part, Prime Minister Sánchez praised Jordan's important efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty, to promote security and stability in the region and the world, noting Jordan's vital role in supporting Palestinians. Sánchez added that the war on Gaza, which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of innocent civilians, must be brought to an end. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan's Ambassador to Spain Raghad Al Saqqa attended the talks.

Ammon News - The total number of sheep and goats in Jordan reached approximately 3.956 million heads in 2024, marking a 1 percent increase compared to 2023, according to the Department of Statistics' Livestock Numbers Report for the Informal Sector released Wednesday. The report indicated that the sheep population grew by 1 percent, rising to 3.076 million heads in 2024, up from 3.049 million in 2023. Meanwhile, the number of goats increased by 4 percent, reaching 880,000 heads compared to 850,000 the previous year. The data also showed a 2 percent rise in livestock births, with a total of 2.376 million newborns in 2024, compared to 2.332 million in 2023. Sales for slaughter from newborn livestock saw a 1 percent increase, with 31.5 percent of the total being sold for this purpose. The number of animals slaughtered rose significantly to 1.227 million in 2024, up from 932,000 in 2023.
