
AI adoption in B2B drives revenue growth & boosts hiring
Responsive, in partnership with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals, has released its 2025 State of Strategic Response Management Report, which surveyed 726 global revenue leaders and practitioners to gauge how AI is reshaping revenue operations and roles.
The report identifies a growing divergence between high-performing organisations - described as "Leaders" with over 25% year-on-year revenue growth - and their lower-performing counterparts, referred to as "Novices." Leaders are found to be six times more likely to have deployed AI agents across revenue functions and more than twice as likely to use AI for both decision-making and workflow optimisation compared to Novices.
More than half of the surveyed companies that have adopted AI report increasing headcount, while only 27% of companies not using AI say the same. This contrasts with the narrative that AI adoption may replace jobs across the industry.
Ganesh Shankar, Chief Executive Officer at Responsive, said, "The 2025 Strategic Response Management Report makes it clear: AI isn't just a tool; it's both a force multiplier and a catalyst for transforming how organisations compete and win. When strategic response teams are empowered with AI, they gain sharper insights, faster decision-making, and greater agility. The findings highlight that high-growth companies are combining investments in technology with hiring. Of the Leaders identified in the study, 77% report investing in technology and 69% in staffing, suggesting a balanced approach between AI and human resources. By contrast, Novices are less than half as likely to be increasing their staff numbers.
The report also outlines how B2B buyers are expecting more from sellers than previously, with more than three-quarters of organisations noting that buyers now have tighter budgets, demand faster response times, and require greater personalisation. This has heightened the requirements for speed, customisation, and accuracy in sales and revenue operations.
Toby Carrington, Chief Business Officer at Seismic, commented on the organisational changes brought by AI: "AI is fundamentally reshaping how revenue teams operate, allowing us to think more strategically, collaborate better across functions, and focus on high-value work. At Seismic, we're embedding AI into everything we do, not just to automate tasks, but to enable smarter decisions and better outcomes. The companies that move quickly on AI, and use it to elevate both their people and processes, will be the ones that gain a true competitive edge."
According to the research, AI usage is becoming a clear differentiator between companies experiencing significant growth and those that are stagnant. Leaders are more than twice as likely as Novices to use AI for orchestrating workflows and assignments (41% compared to 17%), analysing win/loss data (37% compared to 18%), and making go/no-go decisions (37% compared to 26%).
The report finds that over half (54%) of organisations are either testing or have fully integrated AI into their strategic response management workflows, such as requests for proposals (RFPs), security questionnaires, and due diligence documents. Adoption rates are higher in particular sectors, with 72% of large enterprises, 67% of companies dealing with more than 10 RFPs each month, and 64% of technology firms trialling or deploying AI within these processes.
Revenue growth linked to strategic responses has also been observed, with 62% of surveyed companies reporting year-on-year increases. Leaders stand out as being six times more likely to have fully deployed AI agents and three times more likely to use AI across all revenue functions.
Despite these trends, a portion of the market remains cautious, with more than 10% of all organisations and up to 36% of smaller companies stating they are not using AI agents and have no intention to implement them within the next year.

AppOmni enhances SaaS platform with new AI security features
AppOmni has unveiled new SaaS and AI security capabilities to address the growing wave of artificial intelligence and SaaS-related risks faced by organisations. The company's latest platform updates include features to help security teams understand their exposure to AI threats and implement controls, with a focus on identifying both sanctioned and unsanctioned, otherwise known as shadow, AI applications - including those embedded in popular SaaS platforms. Complex attack surfaces The increasing adoption of AI in the enterprise landscape has created a more complex attack surface for security professionals. AI tools are now deeply integrated within SaaS environments, either as embedded features in platforms such as M365 or Google Workspace, or operating as independent agents. These tools handle and process sensitive data throughout the SaaS estate, making them both a potential facilitator and target for cyber attacks. According to AppOmni, the convergence of native AI applications and SaaS offerings means AI is quickly becoming a ubiquitous layer within software solutions used by businesses. This transformation highlights the need for organisations to gain visibility into their SaaS and AI landscape, particularly to identify unsanctioned or shadow tool usage, as well as to develop practical strategies for controlling and monitoring these technologies. Expanded application support AppOmni's platform now supports an additional 30 AI and SaaS applications, including widely adopted tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, OpenAI, Anthropic, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, and Gong. The company also introduced three new product packages meant to provide a structured path for enterprises at varying stages of their SaaS security maturity journey. Each package includes a free SaaS and AI Attack Surface Assessment and a 90-day trial for the AppOmni Foundations package. Targeted solutions The three packages - Foundations, Advanced, and Enterprise - are each tailored to different organisational needs. The Foundations package serves as an entry-level option designed for companies looking to begin their SaaS security journey. It offers tools to discover shadow SaaS and AI, manage app users and permissions, and detect threats or anomalous activity. AppOmni states that its latest State of SaaS Security 2025 Report found 30% of businesses sought advanced SaaS security capabilities to mitigate risk. The Advanced package builds on this with more comprehensive threat detection and posture management. The Enterprise package, aimed at organisations with the highest security maturity, enables granular control over SaaS security settings and integration with existing security operations. Infoblox upgrades DNS defence to counter AI-driven cyberattacks
Infoblox has introduced enhancements to its Protective DNS solution aimed at countering increasingly sophisticated, AI-driven cyberthreats for organisations across a range of sectors. With a global rise in cyberattacks and new tactics from adversaries leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to target vulnerabilities, Infoblox's improvements focus on providing protection before threats can cause disruption or damage to users, devices, Internet of Things (IoT)/Operational Technology (OT), and cloud environments. Pre-emptive defence The recent upgrades to Infoblox Threat Defence utilise predictive threat intelligence combined with algorithmic and machine learning-based detection capabilities. This preventative approach is designed to stop high-risk and malicious domains on average 68 days earlier than traditional security tools, while maintaining a reported false positive rate of 0.0002 per cent. "The difference between most DNS security tools and our approach is like the difference between law enforcement chasing street-level drug dealers versus taking down the cartel," said Mukesh Gupta, Chief Product Officer at Infoblox. "We target the suppliers behind the cyberattackers - the cartel - so threats can be blocked before they ever reach the network. This preemptive strategy helps security teams reduce risk, eliminate noise and stop threats at the DNS layer before they ever reach the network." The advancements are designed to provide tighter security through features such as more comprehensive visibility, actionable insights, flexible token-based licensing models, and improved reporting on threats stopped prior to causing impact. Infoblox reports that these tools provide clear, quantifiable metrics that may assist security teams in demonstrating return on investment by highlighting threats intercepted before reaching critical systems. Cloud integration and proactive threat blocking In addition to protecting traditional networks, Infoblox's Protective DNS technology is set to power Google Cloud's DNS Armour, a move that will bring native security to cloud workloads. The public preview of Google Cloud's DNS Armour, supported by Infoblox, is expected later this year. By blocking attacks earlier in the cyber kill chain, the company suggests it can reduce reliance on downstream detection and response systems, such as XDR (Extended Detection and Response) and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management). This shift aligns with recommendations from analysts such as Gartner and guidelines like the NIST SP 800-81, which highlight the value of DNS-layer defences in preventing incidents at an earlier stage. Industry response and regional focus Scott Harrell, President and CEO of Infoblox, commented on shifts in the cyber threat landscape, stating, "Traditional 'detect and respond' security simply can't keep pace with today's AI-driven attackers and malware. Cybercrime is evolving faster than ever, costing the world trillions and exploiting gaps in legacy defences. The legacy kill chain approach depends on someone else being 'patient zero' so those legacy systems can learn and react - but attackers today customise malware to target individual businesses or industries, rendering legacy, reactive approaches ineffective against modern AI-enabled attackers. When you're patient zero, the only thing being 'killed' is your business. The future of cybersecurity must be preemptive: stop threats before they ever reach your organisation." Paul Wilcox, Vice President of Regional Sales, APJ, drew attention to regional trends, saying, "Across APAC, cyberattacks are growing more aggressive and calculated. From exploiting third-party access points to targeting critical systems - attackers are finding the cracks in our digital foundations and are using AI to strike faster and smarter than ever." He continued, "For businesses in Singapore, where digital services are tightly woven into daily life, any downtime or confidentiality breach can be deeply disruptive. That's why organisations here need to invest in earlier threat detection that starts at the DNS layer. Stopping an attack before it begins is far less costly than dealing with the aftermath." Reporting and security operations enhancements The updated Infoblox solution introduces a centralised Security Workspace for deeper visibility, and a Detection Mode that highlights missed threats without necessitating changes to existing DNS configurations, aiming to minimise operational risk for organisations. The Asset Data Integration feature offers additional context for analysts conducting further investigations. Flexible token-based licensing aligns pricing with usage, simplifying procurement and potentially offering clearer value for cost-conscious enterprises. The enhancements come as analysts predict global cybercrime costs could reach USD $23 trillion by 2027. The company's approach is designed to stop attacks before impact, rather than waiting for an initial breach to trigger a response, aiming to help organisations remain resilient against the evolving tactics of cyber adversaries.

Families call for AI, robotics education in New Zealand schools
A growing number of Chinese families are enrolling their children in out-of-school robotics and artificial intelligence programs, believing that fluency in these technologies is essential for the next generation. Many are also calling on New Zealand's education system to incorporate these subjects into the national curriculum, arguing that early exposure is key to preparing students for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven job market. Pauline Cleaver, acting deputy secretary of Te Poutāhū Curriculum Centre at the Ministry of Education, said the government's 2025 budget included targeted investment in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. The Creative Imagination Laboratory (CILab), a robotics and programming institute based in Auckland, has reported a sharp rise in enrollment among Asian students since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. "When we founded the institute in 2016, we started with just a dozen children," said Hannah Nie, the institute's director. "Today, we teach around 300 students." Photo: RNZ / Yiting Lin Nie said approximately 80 percent of CILab's students were of Asian heritage, though interest from families of Middle Eastern, Russian and European backgrounds had grown steadily in recent years. She also noted a shift in age demographics, with younger children increasingly drawn to programming and robotics. "Students from intermediate schools and colleges used to make up about 80 percent of our enrollment," she said. "But after Covid, we saw a surge in primary school students joining our programs. They've since become our largest group." Nie said the shift reflected a broader awareness among parents about the importance of early tech education. "Many Asian families are beginning to realize that robotics and programming are essential skills their children will need to navigate the future," she said. A former software engineer and lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology at the Beijing University of Technology in China, Wang launched the academy with his wife in 2015. Wang now runs three courses focused on robotics competitions, robot construction and the C programming language. He said the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence had fueled growing demand for robotics education among Chinese families in Auckland. Wang called on New Zealand's school system to increase investment in STEM education, arguing that it was essential for preparing the next generation. "I know some schools do offer engineering classes," he said. "But what they're teaching are skills like carpentry and ironwork," he said. "It's outdated. It doesn't meet the needs of modern society. "Technological knowledge is incredibly important now - it's foundational," he said. "If students have that base, they can pick up other related subjects much more easily." She said understanding technology and learning how to work with robots would be a crucial skill for the next generation. "In the future, robots and AI will be everywhere." she said. "Even if children don't become engineers, they still need to understand how these [systems] work and how to use them," she said. "It's like how we all had to learn to use computers or smartphones." Chen also wanted more comprehensive instruction in robotics to be introduced in schools. "[My son's school] does have classes on AI and robotics. They call them technology classes," she said. "But, as far as I know, they don't go very deep, [it's] just very basic. "I would like to see primary or secondary school include robots or AI as [part of] basic education," she said. "Technology is moving so fast [and] it's important for children to start understanding it at their earliest age." Ling Zhao, who enrolled her eight-year-old son in a robotics program, said it would be ideal if robotics and artificial intelligence were embedded into the primary school curriculum, though she acknowledged that teaching resources remained limited. "The teaching resources are probably limited, especially since this is such a new area," she said. "That's why we chose to come here [to an out-of-school robotics program]." Ahn said artificial intelligence was no longer confined to engineering, but had expanded into fields such as business, medicine, commerce and marketing, making it a critical area of knowledge for all generations, especially young people. "Especially for the young generation, [understanding artificial intelligence] is more important," he said. "It's very related to their future goals, including jobs or major. "If they don't have any understanding or skills on AI, it's probably much difficult for them to get jobs in the future." Photo: RNZ / Yiting Lin Ahn agreed that New Zealand schools should invest more in integrating artificial intelligence into the curriculum but acknowledged that it would not be an easy undertaking. "A lot of New Zealand schools have already prepared some traditional, skill-based facilities and teaching materials," he said. "But in this area, we have really rapid changes which require regular upgrades to facilities and teaching materials," he said. "For schools, they may realize that they need to adopt the latest skill sets and teaching materials for their students," he said. "But it's very related to budget and policy." Ahn said teacher capacity presented another challenge for schools. "We have very qualified, smart and well-educated teachers at school," he said. "But they should be trained in new technologies, which might be another burden on schools." Kiwibots, the New Zealand robotics charitable trust, has spent more than 15 years organizing competitions, educational initiatives and outreach programs designed to inspire young New Zealanders through hands-on STEM learning. Over the past two years, the organization has taken 27 teams to the United States to represent New Zealand at the VEX World Championships, bringing home a total of 10 world titles. Hazeleger-Mollard said teachers at New Zealand schools were eager to introduce students to artificial intelligence and robotics, but limited funding for equipment and facilities remained an obstacle. "Teachers are keen," she said. "But funding is limited. "Whilst all the resources are free, schools still need funding to get the gear to start," she said. "That is hard when their budgets are super limited. Cleaver said STEM education was compulsory for all students from Year 1 through Year 10. In Years 11 to 13, schools might offer more specialized STEM subjects, depending on staffing, available resources and student demand, she said. Photo: Supplied Cleaver said the Ministry of Education had partnered with STEM-focused organizations and was funding more than 70 community-based specialist education providers to support science, technology and mathematics learning outside traditional classroom settings. She said the government's 2025 budget also included targeted investment in STEM education, including $39.9 million for science and pūtaiao resource kits for students in Years 0 through 8, which will be available beginning in 2026. Cleaver said a refreshed curriculum - incorporating existing, new and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, generative AI, computational thinking, digital outcome design, and digital safety and security - would be released in draft form later this year. Schools will be invited to review and begin adopting the framework, with full implementation required by 2027. "We recognize the growing importance of AI and digital technologies in students' futures," she said. "As part of the refresh of the technology learning area in the New Zealand curriculum, students will explore understanding, knowledge and practice across a range of technologies."
